I ordered food for the entire office today for lunch. I had many orders to place. The gentleman who answered the phone at Chef Chen's was very polite and patient. Food was delivered in about 30 minutes. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was delicious. My only complaint is the sweet and sour chicken had pineapples in it. I am allergic to pineapples so I could not eat it. (Luckily I switched with a co-worker) I wish they would put a description on the menu so this wouldn't happen. Always our favorite go to for great take out! We always get there orange chicken, sweet & sour chicken, lo neon noodles as well as steamed & fried rice. There food is always so delicious I have not had a better orange chicken then Chef Chens. Also their lunch orders are amazing! Order at the counter from a 20-something guy wearing a Jamaican stripe beanie pulled low to cover his (dirty?) hair. Given that the kitchen area is warm, he myst be roasting! Alas, the price of fashion. Assorted 20-year olds hang around the counter talking andbtexting, and they bring each food item to the table as it is ready. This would be great, if our party didn't plan to eat at the same time (the patrons w/out food can watch the first served diners eat). Cho-cho beef was hot (temp) w interesting flavor. Done with Chef Chen. The interior has really gone downhill. Super dusty and sticky inside, and on one side of the dining room, several of the tile baseboards are missing. The interior wall and insulation are visible. The brown rice they serve is not fresh and they told me it had to be heated up in the microwave. There was 4 teenagers who were the delivery drivers and they were going in and out with some many bags. Asked for egg and rice no vegetables and at home discovered it came with vegetables. A few hours later my wife found egg shells 11pm. I personally complained eye-to-eye but no apology. First time to check out Chef Chen - it's close to my home and they have weekend lunch specials so 2 things were very much in their favor. Due to the stupid virus the process is that you call in your order and call them back when you arrive. My order and pickup process was quick and efficient. Got home and opened the bag - I am impressed! I ordered China Town which is shrimp, beef, and chicken with vegetables and chef's special sauce. Chef Chen is our go to Chinese in Rowlett. In part because of location, but the food here really is delicious. There's a decent size dining area but it seems to mostly serve as employee day care. I've rarely seen customers actually dining in. So if you're looking for a full service dine in experience I'm not sure...We always carry out. Anyway, I love a good Kung Pao and Chen's is one of the best. The Egg Rolls are spot on with a nice light wrapper. My wife loves their chicken wings and I agree...awesome! Lemon chicken is lightly fried and lemon sauce soo good, not too sweet. And when the noodle craving hits...Dan-Dan never disappoints! Definitely give them a try. read more

I usually tip the delivery guys a little extra for comin' so far - but they're super fast and nice so it's worth it. On to the food! Super fresh, big portions, everything is super yum. I first tried this Chinese delivery because they had crab rangoons but we keep coming back because the food is so good. We have been ordering from this company for over 5 years, never had a problem with them and their food was always great. Today we decided to order from them, and they decided to up the cost of the minimum for delivery, which is understandable. We always tip the driver $5 for coming out here, because to me that's worth it...but now they've decided that they're going to charge a $2 delivery fee on top of the now $12 minimum. So my $10 meal that was costing me $15 after tip, will now cost me over $20. They're telling me that the $2 delivery fee has always been that way, and I explained to her that we've been ordering for over 5 years and it's never been that way. She was very rude about it and so now they are losing a loyal customer over a $2 delivery fee. Just an FYI. It says free delivery on their website. read more
