We tried Chi's Wok due to our previous Chinese place closing... and it's actually not half bad! We were hesitant to try the food as some reviews were up-and-down, but my experience here has been amazing. We typically order the kung pao chicken, orange chicken, combination lo mein, and their spring rolls. We have always received good quality food. Everything has been tasty and fresh! Yes, the inside and outside of the place is not the prettiest, but the people they have at the front taking orders are good. The owners are quite stern but I don't take that personally. I recommend you try this place out if you're in the area! They have weekly lunch specials and they pack up your plate. read more

So I had been craving Chinese take out and was over in Mesquite, Texas. After going over to the wonderful "Yelp" app (shameless plug!) I saw reviews on Chi's Wok and decided to try it. It was frigging GOOD! First let's talk about the restaurant, it's small, and not some fabulous eatery but the food, my gosh the FOOD! But before I get ahead of myself, I want to really compliment the staff and the friendly customer service, they are very helpful and even recommended what we finally chose to select. We selected the large combo platter, which gives you two entrees and a choice of steamed or fried rice. We chose Gen. Taos Chicken and Orange chicken. And also combo lo mein. (The lo mein is delicious!) The portions are HUGE, both entrees were cooked fresh, delightfuly crispy and not oversauced. I will be definitely be going again to visit this hidden gem in Mesquite and highly recommended it to all. read more

Yummy! Their food is great. Very fresh. The beef in my broccoli beef was the highest quality I've seen at a Chinese restaurant.

Used to think this place was great, grew up in the neighborhood used to eat from here all the time. But let me tell you, what I got when I order earlier was absolutely garbage.what was supposed to be 2 Entrees came mixed in the same container, was supposed to be Szechwan chicken and pepper steak but even if you could tell them apart despite being mixed together, there wasn't enough beef or chicken to have even called it ONE entree, it was just a container of soggy veggies and what tasted like just teriyaki sauce and I didn't order anything teriyaki. If all that wasn't enough the fried rice was semi overcooked and had a lot of crunchy pieces in it. I will literally never spend money here again. read more

I love their crab rangoons, my wife's eyes light up when I bring out 3 orders of them. Chis wok has really excellent food and it's very decently priced. One meal can last for 3 portions, only thing I'd say is that they don't give enough rice for how much the portions can last. That just shows how much food they pack in! That's amazing value. Buy a dinner entree and enjoy. Put it back in the fridge and have it for lunch and dinner in the future, you'll just need to cook your own rice because the food is so good you'll run out of rice during your first meal! We are always rushed over the phone when placing an order. When we get our food, it's been mediocre at best compared to previous years. Today was the last straw. The taste of the food was okay. The shrimp fried rice was a tad bit bland. I did not like that my 2 entree's were stuffed into one bowl together. The egg roll was greasy & its shell tasted like paper. The shrimp fried rice and well as the garlic shrimp had maybe 5 shrimp each. The amount of food was good. read more

If you think of soy sauce when people say 'Chinese food', this may be your place...but I will go elsewhere. Boring food seasoned with soy sauce. I don't know how you can make bland garlic beef, and tasteless Kung Pow chicken but they can do it! The ponzu sauce with the dumplings was great! Let's be honest... This place is not PF Changs. However, if you're looking for something more authentic, tasty, and cheaper than Panda Express then Chi's Wok fits the bill. This place is in a strip mall. I've been coming here for years with my family but I'm not sure how we found the place. It must be good because I've seen the Dallas mayor in here... The best part about this place is the serving sizes. Most plates come in either small or large. I eat a lot and even these portions are too much. My friends and family usually share. I suggest two ppl sharing a small and three sharing a large. Price? A small is about 4.50 and a large is 5.99. For real. The best thing to do is get two smalls and share with a friend so you can get a variety. I love their hot and sour soup. It's richer and thicker than most you usually encounter. Portions are what is expected at a Chinese fast food place. Not impressed at all with the decor. Really old and needs updating. I ordered a combination fried rice. We've been looking for a really good Cantonese Restaurant for take-out, and we found it! I ordered 3 combo meals and 3 egg rolls (they come in pairs). Since we've been disappointed with other local take-outs, we weren't expecting too much, but boy were we surprised! Nice people but me and wife both got food poisoning from this location! Hot and sour soup! Within the last week we ordered take out because they don't deliver which is fine. Looking for a good Chinese restaurant close by. This is not it! Tried because had good rating and good comments. My pupu platter was ok but the beef on the stick was dry. Ordered 3 Chinese ribs. Meat was dry and they had just poured the sauce on top. It had not been cooked to get that sticky topping. I can make these at home much better! I ordered MooShoo Chicken. It was terrible! Tasted like the bottom burned and they scraped off the top. My chicken was batter-fried- not suppose to be in this dish. My "pancakes" were raw sheets of fillo not thin pancakes. I threw the " house speciality" rice out as it was nothing special at all. I went there when it was raining because I'm pregnant and I get these cravings.....that day it was chinese food, I wanted it quick, cheap and sorry to say, greasy. I had my other children with me and of course they always fall asleep and I cannot wake them, so I have to say I am.thankful to establishments that cater to me. I call them from outside, tell them I have children I cannot take my eyes off of and park my car right in front of the door so I can hand them the money. They were understanding enough to bring the food out to me when it was finished, unlike Wingstop who say they will bring it out and dont and allows it sit on the side counter getting cold and lard returns to its solid state.... so that automatically gives them their first star. I ordered the fried crabsticks. My fault, Im so hungry sometimes that I dont think and I totally forgot that I HATE imitation crab! I should have known better for 6 bucks or less, but......so, yes, they are just battered fake crab sticks. I did like the hot and sour soup. It is standard, made just like every other chinsese fast food joint, but so good when it is freaking 39 degrees in Texas. I went very simple here and ordered standard chicken fried rice. Not bad tasting, chicken was tender, super large portion and not underwhelmed with chicken I might add. It was rather a good chocken to rice ratio for those who know what I mean. Very good portion size. My daughter loves the shrimp fried rice which actually has nice size shrimp. My hubby and I like the fact that the veggies in entrees are crisp and not overcooked.
