After seeing several bad reviews on Yelp for this Asian buffet I was a little hesitant but I'm glad I gave them the benefit of the doubt as I was pleasantly surprised with the good service and tasty food. They have what I would consider to be a competitive variety of buffet dishes comparable to any other buffet in the area. I'm not going to say they are the best Or even close to the best I've ever had but I was happy with what I got for what I paid. I think the orange chicken was probably my favorite dish of my meal. I say I "think" and "probably" because nothing was properly labeled so I don't actually know that I was eating orange chicken I'm just assuming from the flavor that it was orange chicken LOL. That's one of the things they could improve on "properly labeling", Even though they had a good variety of dishes I did notice some Asian buffet Classics missing from the lineup including, dumplings accompanied by dumpling sauce, seaweed salad And soft serve ice cream. With that said they did have real Scoopable ice cream but after witnessing people go in there with their bare hands I wasn't going to touch the stuff. All in all it was your average Buffet with your average Buffet Fair and your average Buffet flavors and at the very least deserves a three stars as I was happy enough when I left *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Good Service. Good Cleanliness. Decent Consistency. Good Variety. Good Value. Good

This place is really going down hill…read more My wife and I ate here for lunch, on a Wednesday. We were sat, and waited 12 min for drinks while we were assaulted by cigarette smoke coming from the back. Apparently, some of the staff were smoking with the back door open. We almost left, and I wish we would have. The waitress didn't want to be there. It was almost like we were bothering her by being there. I ordered the Mongolian chicken lunch. What I received was the Mongolian beef. I didn't want to wait on them to fix the right entree, so I ate it. It was okay. I ordered water with lemon and I guess they were out of lemons.... We were watching them take forks out of the dishwasher and place them into a pitcher of clear liquid. Not sure what that was about. My wife got the chicken lomein and the chicken was soggy and greasy, she only had a few bites. Brought it home, and my 17yo son wouldn't even eat it. I really liked this place when it opened. Now it is struggling. I will not be back for a while. Only acceptable Asian in that area is Oishi Raman IMHO. I hope Forney gets some decent places with the new Gateway additions.

The inside is well structured for those who want to sit at the bar to eat alone or to sit in booths around the room. Decor is nice, lighting on the moody side & the restrooms were clean. When I did dine in I will say it took over 10 minutes before the server even acknowledged me, so I wasn't a fan of that. Although I may not have been assigned to the other servers they could've offered a drink or grabbed the gentleman to let him know I was sitting there, but all chose to just smile and walk by until he arrived (which is why I'm rating them a 4/5). When it comes to the food you can't go wrong with anything they offer. I personally love nigiri, so that's what I've continued to order from them and it's been fresh & flavorful each time. It's better to dine in for your first experience because they have a list of different fish you can choose from that isn't available to view online when you order to-go. I also think it's better to come in person as they do have quite the happy hour selection. The fried rice, beef skewers, edamame etc are all great options and portion sizes that will leave you satisfied. I didn't try any of their alcoholic beverages, but I'm sure those are just as good. If you're in the area check them out!

I started with the garlic edamame, Kani salad, and gyoza. The gyoza are pan fried perfectly! Some places fry them too hard or deep fry them. The kani salad is a mix of shredded cucumber, spicy crab mix with spicy mayo, and roe. I ordered the Angry Dragon roll and the Rockwall roll. The Rockwall roll is sweet with coconut shrimp wrapped, topped with spicy crab mix and coconut sauce. It's delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and intimate. Darker in the dining room with table lamps. You're not looking around the room at everyone, but more focused on just your party. I will definitely be returning to Basil Cafe more often! Can't wait to try more sushi! Thanks again Annika for a great experience!

Overall, the food was solid with a few standout items. The spicy tuna roll was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The ramen was also quite good and comforting. The hibachi steak, however, was a bit of a surprise. The steak was cooked exactly to the temperature I requested, but it (along with the vegetables) arrived slightly cold, which took away from the experience. The fried rice also lacked a bit of seasoning and could have used a little more flavor. While this wasn't a bad dining experience by any means, I'm still on the search for that standout spot in the area that truly checks all the boxes. That said, there are definitely some dishes here worth coming back for.

We had been wanting to try Rumdoul for a while, so it felt like a double treat! Before we even walked through the doors, we were hit with the most incredible aromas coming from the restaurant. It immediately made us excited to eat. Once inside, we were greeted with warm smiles by Leona, who was absolutely adorable and incredibly attentive to everyone dining there. We also had the pleasure of talking with Mr. B, who shared his vision for the restaurant and how he wants it to be different. You can genuinely feel the love, pride, and passion he has poured into this place--not only in the atmosphere but in every bite of food. Following some of his recommendations, we started with the chicken gyoza. They were perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, and packed with flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the tofu yellow curry at spice level 4. Let me tell you--it was SPICY! But it was also absolutely delicious. I can't wait to order it again, although there are so many other menu items I want to try too. Jason ordered the chicken Pad Thai. He's extremely picky about noodle texture and thickness, and he devoured every single bite. He ordered spice level 3, which was almost too much for him, but that didn't stop him from cleaning his plate! Of course, we had to finish with the mango sticky rice, which was my favorite part of the meal. I poured every drop of that sweet coconut sauce over the rice and mango, and there wasn't a trace left on the plate. We even used the extra sauce from the gyoza in our dishes because everything was just that good. There's a reason Rumdoul is sitting close to a 5-star rating. The food is incredible, the service is wonderful, and the passion behind the restaurant shines through in every detail. We will absolutely be back--and as soon as our little man arrives, we'll be adding sushi to our order too! Giving Rumdoul 5's with zero hesitation.
