Haven't gone to a buffet of any kind in a good 5 or 6 years. I was hungry but not starving and my morning cup of coffee was all I had until arriving here around 1:10 pm. My first plate was (in clockwise order) a braised beef rib, baked salmon with a light cheese garnish on top, baked teriyaki chicken nuggets, and baked Sashi which I believe is under the tuna umbrella. My second plate was a few buttered baked potato slices, cream cheese won ton, a slice of baked eggplant, a small pickled octopus, and four steamed shrimp. You'll notice I didn't 'load up' on any one dish and only the won ton was deep fried. A glass of ice cold diet Pepsi and no dessert rounded out this dining experience. Ppl went through the drive through were told 8 min wait to pull around In front of the building and wait for them to never bring us our food we paid for there was 4 vehicles waiting for one pregnant girl to come out and serve one 1 car within 15 minutes only to not come back so after 5 minutes more went back I had to go check on the order there was 4 freaking ppl there serving ppl inside that just walked in and zero ppl working on the outside drive through vehicles! Yes I was not a happy camper neither was the other ppl outside waiting on these ppl who no care nor concern. I will not be back to set outside ever again. I've never been a fan of Chinese buffets. Much of the food in Chinese buffets is over salted, over breaded, over fried and over cooked, but this isn't bad - especially for a buffet of this genre in a small Texas town. I'd much more prefer P.F. Chang's - but when you live in East Texas, you take what you can get. There is enough variety where I can salvage some things to eat. Like most Chinese Buffets, the sushi is bland - like it came out of a vending machine. Doesn't taste bad, but it has a very cafeteria-ish flavor & texture. The seafood lover will appreciate the fish fillets, king crab legs, jumbo cocktail shrimp, fried shrimp, and clams. I prefer more of a vegetarian fare when eating Chinese cuisine. Nothing I've ever seen there resembles Tofu, so I will have a little bit of beef from the Beef & Broccoli selection for protein. I wish they had more bok choi and other hearty vegetables. The broccoli and other cooked veggies are cooked just right - cooked, yet still crisp and not limp or over-done. The selections range from mild to spicy. There are some kid-friendly dishes such as onion-rings, fries, popcorn shrimp, etc. as well as very fresh fruit, tapioca, jello, and DIY soft-serve cones. The desserts vary from pudding to macaroons. One of the hidden gems is the fried zucchini. The breaded slices are huge and very flavorful. I don't think of zucchini as having much flavor beyond what it inherits from other things in a particular dish, but the fried zucchini slices they have are quite good. read more

Panda Buffet falls into the category of offering the standard fare consisting of many familiar fried foods along with a number of hot, typical Cantonese dishes, which are mostly spicy. The have a good variety of things on their buffet and the price depends on what you get on your plate. Like crab legs makes for higher cost. Also, even though they have some good food, they must use a ton of salt. I stopped going here because every time I eat there, I get an unquenchable thirst. Last time I went, I got food to go and I was so thirsty, I drank 2 bottles of beer, 2 bottles of water, and a BIG glass of soda. I've only done that when I eat their food. I don't stay there to eat because they seem to have the heat on all the time and I can't eat when I'm so hot I have to use a sweat towel the whole time I'm there. I give this place 3 stars as a compromise on whether you go for lunch or dinner. Lunch gets 4 stars and dinner gets 2 stars -- dinner food is the leftover lunch food. It's a great place for tasty & cheap lunch. Eat somewhere else after 1pm tho. read more

This place has a decent size buffet.. Like every normal buffet! I really truly like this place since they have great fried rice..and even the steam rice is freaking amazing..isnt dried like most places I been.. The selection of food is pretty good..you have your normal stir fry of beef broccoli...pepper steak..shrimp stir fry.. satuee green beans, and mushrooms.. which is really good.. They have this bbq chicken..man its sooooooooo sooooooooo good.. its one of my favorite thing on the buffet!! next to the veggie stir fry. Even the bbq pork on the stick is really good.. Food was OK, I would go back again due to being only Buffett in town. However, do NOT go for dinner! Food is old and they don't make new until the last piece is gone!! I posted on our Windmill Farms group on Facebook asking for an Asian buffet recommendation. Everyone suggested Panda Buffet in Terrell. So we went to try it out. Got to tell ya, we almost didn't park! Lol The outside is a bit sketchy looking. BUT.....we went on in and I'm glad we did! It was so good and for a buffet to be fresh and kept full at 2:30p in the afternoon was surprising. And they were packed, on a Monday in the middle of the afternoon. Great sign of a great place! Very nice and fast staff. Food was very good and had the normal Chinese buffet items. The food could've been a little bit warmer (reason for 4 rather than 5 stars). Came in on a Friday at 2pm. They had a lot of variety of choices. Most all food on the Buffett was lukewarm at best. Nothing near hot. Hopefully we won't get ill from the food not being kept hot. Vegetables overcooked and soggy. read more

The best thing I can say is they have crab. The place was hot, and the drinks tasted watered down and the sushi was very disappointing. After one plate of food we were presented with the check. My family and I ate at the Panda in Terrell on 9-8-14 The food was the worst we'd ever had, including the service. Do Not get the crab legs!! They are served on the buffet, and if you eat them, even one!! They will charge you an extra 6.99. My family of 4 ate the buffet and had 4 drinks. I am the only one who had a total of 3 small crab legs, and my bill was 68 dollars. This place is a rip off!!!! read more

I've been here 3-4 times in the past year and find this to be a decent Chinese buffet. The variety of food choices is reasonable and the food is consistently good. I don't live in the area, but it's the kind of place I have returned to each time passing through. Tonight, good ribs, tasty beef and broccoli and very good butterfly shrimp. Egg rolls and wonton soup, not so good. At around $9 for dinner, it's better than most other Chinese buffets I've encountered. FOLLOW-UP 7-11-13 visit: I changed my original review from four stars to two--this visit the food was overall not so good; I may re-think the idea of stopping here next time I come though. read more

What's happened to Panda Buffets quality of service, quality of food, I have always loved the food, always thought that any food on the Buffet was included crab legs and seafood, but when the waitress placed our ticket on the table before even getting crab legs, then after I got crab legs picked up our ticket and changed the price of our buffet, without saying a word, never refilling our drink glasses, just felt like she was rude, and did not care to explain why she picked up the ticket again and replaced it without a word. The sweet n sour chicken was hard that we could not eat it, the crab legs were cold. I asked why this occurred to the manager but she stated its been like this for 8 yrs. I said no I have lived in Terrell 8-9 yrs now and never had this happened before to us there. We were there for our son gradation lunch and never had a problem until now. So I feel they need to post the price on the door if it's changed, or at least speak to us instead of just walking off without a word. read more
