White Oak is a seafood buffet restaurant. They offer fried and baked fish, fried and boiled shrimp and several other options. Their rolls are great and they have 2 types of cobbler along with ice cream and banana pudding. Soft drinks, water or tea is included in the price.

I've been holding this in for weeks, but I can't shake off how disturbed I felt after what I…read morewitnessed during a mid-afternoon buffet at Broadway Buffet in Sulphur Springs. That day, my wife wasn't in the mood to eat there, but she accompanied me anyway and had a hot tea while I enjoyed my meal. One thing about me when I go to a buffet--I like to get everything I want in one go, so I don't have to keep getting up. I typically have four to five plates in front of me to avoid interruptions. While getting some egg drop soup, I noticed an elderly woman across from me at the buffet. She was getting wonton soup, and since we were directly opposite each other, I greeted her politely with a "Hi, ma'am" as a sign of respect. She smiled and nodded in return. As I moved to get some steamed fish fillet, I paused because she was also serving herself. What caught my attention was how she used the wrong serving spoon, and instead of taking a small portion, she pinched off pieces of the largest fillet and dropped them into her wonton soup. I found it odd, but it wasn't my business, so I brushed it off. However, what happened next completely ruined my appetite. She reached for a piece of breaded shrimp, dipped it directly into the entire pot of sweet and sour sauce, took a bite, and then--without hesitation--dipped the same shrimp back into the sauce. To make it worse, she walked away, leaving sauce dripping everywhere. I was so disgusted that I immediately informed the owner. She acted promptly, removing the pot of sweet and sour sauce and apologizing. I paid for my meal and left, completely put off by what I had seen. To make matters worse, I later noticed the same woman picking her nose while eating. The entire experience was unsettling. I sincerely wish the restaurant would have someone stationed at the buffet to monitor such behavior. People who are that unhygienic should be removed from the establishment. Let me be clear--I'm not here to badmouth Broadway Buffet. I actually enjoy their food (though, in my opinion, China King is better), and I appreciate having a Chinese buffet nearby without having to drive far. However, this experience left a lasting impression, and I felt compelled to share it with others who dine there.

I…read morewas enticed to try this place strictly by its name. this lead me to imagining how the place would provide yet another example of how silly texas stuff actually is in today's world. in short, i think texans take themselves much too seriously. they aren't riding the range, or having shootouts (well, not the kind that happen in a corral anyway) or (with air-conditioning everywhere you turn) have much need for a "10-gallon hat". but i had neglected to consider that, all that predictable claptrap aside, this place might actually be enjoyable simply because it's a good "steakhouse". I don't really care much for beef these days, it seems kinda unidimensional flavor-wise, differing mainly in tenderness, cut and age of the meat. there is something to the choice of how "well" you like the meat cooked, and in that regard it's much like lamb to me: flavor gets more complex with time and heat. I prefer lamb braised like the greeks do it, rather than grill-marked with red-pink inside. Likewise with beef, which needs to be carefully broiled or grilled to a point just before the protein begins to dewater from being overly done. well/medium well is a tough call to attain given that the cooking continues several minutes after the heat is removed. So here's the serious good about the redneck grill: go for the 16 ounce ribeye: the cut is about as tender as texas steak gets (don't know where peter luger gets their meat but at one time the old man personally selected the incoming hindquarters off the truck). 12 is mainly thinner and has a bit more fat. forego any additional seasoning on anything (french fries included) as there is more than enough salt and etc already. order it cooked to your taste, the kitchen will make a good effort to deliver it that way. this has been my best restaurant experience in this little town, for whatever that's worth. but of course there's plenty of the old texas-texas-texas claptrap to amuse you: the ever-popular cowhide on the wall, exposed brick behind broken terra cotta, creative use of corrugated metal siding as wall covering, expired texas license plates decorating the walls, antiquey kinds of lamps emitting low level light, etc etc etc. ok, i give up on this, texas is still mostly texas once you're outside the perimeter of one of the hopelessly overgrown metroplexes. if you're planning to relocate here to buy a cheap house and avoid state income taxes, enjoy it. i'm going home tomorrow.

First time visiting this location. Staff is excellent! Everyone was patient, helpful and friendly…read morefrom the moment we drove up. From free valet service to our last stop at the Cashier was top notch. We lunched at Chili's, then later dinner, at The River Restaurant. Food at both restaurants were very good and portions plenty enough to share. Mornings: breakfast is served at The River Restaurant. Portions are ample but lighter than the lunch and dinner portions. So, be sure to order those pancakes if you have a bigger appetite. This casino is located in Oklahoma -- Drinks are not complimentary with play; however, I noted 2 self serve beverage centers. Both were very clean & orderly at all times, as were the bathrooms. Hotel is also very clean and well appointed. I do advise taking a charging cube to charge your devices. There is a whole lot more to this casino/hotel than we had time to explore. This establishment offers motorized scooters to those who are in need of one. Another thing we saw as we were leaving the casino is what appears to beautiful RV park just south of the Casino. This wraps up all I have to share... Happy travels and may Lady Luck always be in your favor!

They used to do it here, but not anymore. The shower is amazing as I can be in there for 30 minutes, but beware I made a mess on one of the visit as the massage sprayer is quite powerful. I have stayed in their regular rooms and it is alright and I have accidentally booked a smoking room on the west side. Food I have eaten at all of their restaurants except for Chili's now. They have a quick bite to eat like the Cove, a sports bar dining which was not too bad, food was reasonable priced, but we got our food comped and they have the fancy steak house which I enjoy going to as well which the prices are not too bad. We usually spend around 100 dollars there. Gaming They usually keep most of their machines, but sometimes they do change the machine. You can visit the gas station as well and even though it is smaller and a couple of them, they have a great selection of bingo games and have some games that are not within the main casino floor. I am sure my wife would have gone with me to check it out. I did hit my highest jackpot and found out I can get a check. So for now on any jackpot over $2400 I request a check. I had a lot of luck here, but two of my last visits I did not hit a jackpot which is okay. I think this year I will be down big at that casino. Overall, I enjoy going to this casino as it is small and relaxing. I also like going to Paris, TX and play Pokemon and walking around the park to play. But do not count me in on playing in the summer.

I love to get the Cajun chicken pasta with the mushrooms in a creamy sauce. I like to get it spicy. So very good. My favorites though are the beef pho (PERFECT), the Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef and the scrumptious dumplings. Ok, so try ordering just six of those dumplings and see how that works out for ya! Just order a dozen, ok? They are served piping hot and are accompanied by a delicious homemade dipping sauce. The Mongolian Beef includes many delicious vegetables and the large portion is served with an equally large portion of fried rice. The service is attentive and friendly. They truly care that you enjoy the food. The interior is simply decorated. However, there are numerous lovely paintings that were painted by the restaurant owner. Such a nice touch! I have been going to this restaurant for years when passing through Idabel. Prior to COVID, AJ's had a buffet set up in addition to the menu items. I enjoyed the buffet and miss that sometimes. There were numerous Asian and American dishes as well as a salad bar and AWESOME bread pudding. However, the absence of the buffet does not take away from the experience. It's just something I personally miss. In fact, I am pretty certain they still have the bread pudding on the menu. Get that too! Of course, since I am a regular, I will certainly be back!
