Went on October 22nd , 2022 for my family reunion and didn't know it was going to be a Buffett and was impressed! I think I had more Fried fish & Sausage more then anything else and it was delicious!!! Everything I tried was good! It hurts me to write this review, but I feel I must. We have been to this place several times for their catfish. All was good. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner in 2022 and except for the stuffing which had way too much sage for me, the food was good. We just got back from 2023 Thanksgiving dinner and unfortunately will not return in the future. Much of the food was cold, the green bean casserole that had run out and was not replenished for quite some time, was like the ingredients had been mixed in the foil pan but never baked in the oven. The stuffing tasted ok (not too much sage) but was very watery and mushy. The mashed potatoes were definitely not homemade, rather tasted like they were from a box. Rolls were not homemade either and it took 3 trips to the buffet to get one. Much of the food ran out and it took forever for pans to be refilled and then you better be quick or it would be gone again. Even if you made it back in time for the refill, the food was cold. We were extremely disappointed. To top it off, this buffet cost us (2 seniors) $42. Had the food been good, it would have been worth it, but not for the quality they offered today. We'll be eating Thanksgiving dinner and catfish at other establishments in the future. read more

You would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't enjoy going to Windomfeedd Sack. Unfortunately, Windom falls short after the first two or three visits, becoming increasingly more average as you eat there. It can also be very frustrating to move around inside but this can mostly be contributed to the large crowds.. read more

Good quality food. Nice people. Wish they were open more often. Seems we stop by often and they are closed. The hours are posted but doesn't seem like typical times. But when they are open we like the food and the place is nicely decorated. Hope this place takes off and gets longer opening hours and I think they would get more business. Not many quality places open around here. So check the open hours and stop by to support them if they are open. This is buffet food in a small town neighborly setting and atmosphere. Fried fish, frog legs, shrimp, chicken plus ribs slow baked ! Great salad bar with shrimp served cold accompanied all the favorites you want and enjoy with your salad selections. The ice cream machine flows fresh and creamy vanilla and chocolate. Cobbler in peach and apple are delicious. Complete soda drink selections with coffee and tea. This is my secret place to go when I want to sit and eat without time limits. I would be a bigger fan of this place if almost 75% of it was not fried. Yes, the buffet is enormous, but how many people can eat fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried corn fritters, fried steak fingers, and french fries in one sitting without paying for it later? This should be called the "cardiac arrest" buffet. I know we are in Texas, but still. Is there a doctor in the house? The boiled cocktail shrimp was delicious, and they did have a baked potato bar and salad bar. Most of the meat was in the fried state, so I stayed away, but enjoyed the chocolate cobbler (yes, chocolate cobbler!) and peach cobbler. Mmmmm. The town has about 200 people living there so this is the only place to get a meal. Having that as being the only option doesn't mean they skimp on anything. The restaurant is buffet style dining with choosing a of traditional fried catfish and pinto beans to meatloaf with mashed potatoes. A full salad bar is stocked with your favorites as well. Fresh cobblers and cookies and an ice cream machine round out your dining experience. Defiantly a trek but worth it. read more

Fried, fried, and more fried! What more could your arteries possibly ask for!?! I suppose the food was decent for a very small town establishment but, man, oh man, is it heavy. I doubt we'll ever be back because there are better dining options closer to home but judging by the Friday night crowd we won't be missed. read more

Windom feed sack has really good food. I've been here 5 times and it's still as good as the time before. Would recommend to anybody looking for good food close by. Always lots of people eating here. Always empty plates on the table when we leave. read more

Less than average buffet with edible but not much better food. The best thing about them is their sweet tea. Atmosphere is pretty neat.

Spent the weekend with our Son and Daughter-In-Law and they took us to the Feed Sack 9-30-16. They had been wanting to take us for some time. Fell in Love with this place!!!! The atmosphere was exceptional and the Service was as well. Pretty good size Buffet and Salad bar as well as Dessert bar. I got the fried fish, chicken tenders, pork ribs, corn bites, cold slaw, pinto beans and cornbread. It was all very good and hot. There was NO grease on any of the fried food and was all cooked just right. The rest had fish, shrimp, chicken tenders, frog legs, etc . and my Husband Loved the frog legs. Dessert was a small ice cream cone (the ice cream was very good) a small serving of Chocolate Cobbler (which I had never had before) and it was extremely good. I also got a cookie and it was so moist and home made. Just wish we did not live so far away as we would go back quite often. Perfect Ambiance per name of Buffet. We will be back when we go to visit again for sure. read more

Wonderful country buffet with seafood on Friday and Saturday night. Must be 30 or more items on the buffet with fried being 75% of it, there are enough baked items to make anyone happy, O I forgot the boiled shrimp. You will never taste anything fresher than the Feed Sack. read more

Although the food is good the owner was very rude to us. We had a group of 15 people. We called ahead and they said they did not take reservations. When we got there some of our group arrived a few minutes early. The seated us and one the ladies that worked there saved a table for the rest of our group. When the rest of our group arrived the girl showed them the table they had saved. They began filling their plates. Then the owner came over and said that we couldn't have that table because it was reserved for someone else. We said, "I thought you didn't take reservations". He became irate and would not leave us alone and let us finish our meal. Will definitely not be going back. read more
