I had a hard time deciding what rating to give. So first, it's a buffet, and has the standard buffet issues, so I wanted to go higher because if you're grading on a scale, there are just things you grow to expect. Second, the price is kinda steep ($30 each for brunch on Saturday), so you also start to have higher expectations. The service was what you'd expect, nothing more, nothing less. Husband and I both had a couple refills of drinks, and those were pretty prompt. Plenty of seating. Music was on, loud enough to hear, but quiet enough to hold a conversation. Now, the food... First, you are mostly served at the buffet, which is so strange to me, and I don't specifically like it. It definitely creates lines. The food is hit or miss. Some items were piping hot while others seemed like they had been out for hours. Which, again, is a theme at buffets. Nothing had flavors that wowed us or made me want to come back tomorrow.

While there are quite a lot of newer buildings at the Choctaw casino in Durant, Butterfield's buffet has unfortunately been left behind. Admittedly it has been 5 years since I've been here, but a combination of my daughter's 18th birthday as well as her desire to eat crab and legally gamble with us was quite the draw. We went out on a Friday night as they were having AYCE crab night. In addition to the crab, there's also the carving station, to which I will give credit to the prime rib cuts we all got from there, and the toned down creamy horseradish sauce which takes a little bit of the edge off a straight shot of horseradish by itself. They also have a peel n eat shrimp and an oyster bar...I thought the shrimp looked okay but boy I would certainly not take a chance on those oysters. They were stacked high so not all of them were on the ice to keep them cold.... There is also a chinese food/ pho station. I tried the pho and immediately stopped as it was quite salty. I didn't expect much from a buffet but this rated even lower than that. Lots of desserts and I think our party liked the pecan pie the best. Also home cooking are and a very broad salad bar. The crab was hit or miss. Some of it looked so dreary that it made you want to pass on the plate they offered and go back to the end of the line and take your chances again. The line was never more than 10-12 people as at 8:00 PM it really didn't feel that busy, although all the tables around us were full. Our server Cody was great at keeping our drinks filled up and clearing plates. Place doesn't seem loud and you can certainly have your own conversations without fear of someone else being right on top of you to hear what you have to say. Buffet area was clean and, though there were a few times were a couple tables were left with dirty dishes on them, overall place is clean. This one you pay in advance and with a basic player discount (no status) we paid about $177 prior to tip. I gave Cody $20 for taking care of us. Comparatively vs a restaurant in the Dallas area it would be about $45-50 per plate so AYCE at this price is a value. I understand it has to be done on a mass production scale, but despite that handicap it still wasn't fantastic.

This buffet is inside the Choctaw casino. We went on Saturday night and they had crab legs and fresh raw oysters. We had a party of 8, so the server put us in the VIP room since other tables were not available to combine. The buffet is a good size, 4 different stations to choose from and salad bar/desserts are in the middle. Busy restaurant and servers are constantly walking around emptying the buckets of shells and refilling the drinks. Ambiance in the VIP room made it feel extra special since we had a huge round table.

Inside Choctaw casino. Come hungry to get your money's worth as it is a bit pricey . The crab leg special on Thursday nights is very tasty - but a lot of work. The egg rolls and orange chicken were very good, the only self/serve is the pre-plated deserts. So staff even serve you the salad bar. Staff serving at the stations were friendly and helpful. Our table attendant was not very engaging. Look for complementary meals through players club.

I went to Choctaw for an event and my family ate at Butterfields for the buffet. You get a drink of your choice that is refillable. I was disappointed to find that the choices available at this buffet is very small. The prime beef and the snow crab were good, but that's about it. Everything else they served at the buffet was generic fried food or the kind of food you see at Chinese takeout. They had a pho station too but obviously it wasn't going to be amazing since it was coming from a buffet. I got a plate with fried shrimp, egg rolls, and wonton soup. Not bad honestly but still not something I would ever order at a restaurant. My uncle pulled off a pro move of putting the prime beef in his bowl of pho though and that looked pretty good. Dessert wasn't the greatest either. Unless you're on with only eating prime beef and snow crab the whole time, this place isn't really worth it.

I threw this away so bad. I could only eat bacon

This is the worst brunch I have ever eaten. I spent $52.75 for 2 people with 1 coffee 1 coke. That is after they deducted $20.00 for a food credit. I got bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. I threw out over 90% of it. The bacon was ok, I ate that. We have eaten crab dinner there before and it was good. But even dinner there last night was not as good as the past. The gravy had no flavor , tastes like bagged gravy very bland no bits of sausage. The sausage was bland, burnt and like cardboard. The biscuits was mushy and just fell apart. The flavor was ok but so artificial. Potatoes flavorless and dry. Eggs tasted like powdered or bagged eggs. I calmly informed the sweet waitress, she was fantastic and apologetic. She offered the manager but I said no thank you. I did not want her uncomfortable. Nor did I want it to look like I just wanted a free meal. The poor girl had a couple next to us that also threw out their food complaining about the quality. I spent $297.00 for hotel, $550.00 for Joe Bonamassa tickets, $700.00 ( donated to casino), $125.00for dinner and brunch. Food bad, out of 3 elevators only 1 worked. ( being on 12fh floor steps not an option) and the room was plain, nothing special. I even called in advanced and asked to have roses, wine, and strawberries for a surprise for my wife for her birthday. I was told sorry we don't do that. Really at an high end resort? Really? Then to check in the hotel you must check in at the smokers section. Then have to walk through the smoke to get to non-smokers section. Never, Never again I will go to Windstar. .

The staff is great. The greeters/cashiers were friendly. The food was okay. It was satisfying enough. The decor was typical buffet style. For the price, this is a good choice.

2 stars for being free. Total would have been over $70. I'm glad it was free. So I liked the pork egg rolls. They were fresh and crispy. Brisket was OK. I like the burnt ends. Ribs were OK as well. Cheesecake was good. A lot of food had been sitting there for a bit. Some foods were staie or dry. The corn on the cob was overcooked. Overall, for the price not worth it. Maybe if you get lucky and you happen to get everything while it's fresh, it might taste better??? First time to this buffet. I hate to say it, but it's more towards cafetería food. Slightly about cafetería food since they have Ribs, Tri-tip, and brisket. This is my opinion based on my tastebuds.

After a round of golf in the scorching sun... was famine and tried this place since it was Crab and Seafood selection for dinner. Although their selection is limited, the quality is pretty good for the price we paid. $40 for dinner and if you have the players card from the casino you get 10% off. Each person needs their own card. They happen to have prime rib, brisket, oysters, hot snow crab legs, cocktail shrimp, ettoufee which tasted very good with the white rice and they also have pho and a Chinese section. Overall is a good place to eat and the line isn't as long as you would find at the Winstar buffet. Not as many selection but they make up in quality and reasonable price

Prime rib w horseradish, fried chicken, catfish and fried green beans. Yum!

Lol I immediately smile back and said well what am I paying for? She said the buffer. I told her that "it is our first time here. Sorry I did not know." I asked her if I could take a look first she said sure I did and the food looked fresh and everything seemed clean around it so we decided to give it a try. Everything is on disposable styrofoam plates and disposable utensils... I chose a small piece of the baked fish put a few small pieces of the fried fish, one, each of the two different hush puppies, about three fries of each type they had sweet potato, and regular russet, then I made a plate of salad, which had tabouli, which I was excited about potato salad, Caesar salad, regular salad and a beet. I also put about three boiled cold, shrimp, peel, and eat type on my plate. My husband tried most of everything as well. I am a condiment junkie, so I had to get a little bit of their cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and green tomatoes. In saying all of that, we were optimistic.. the fish is very very average. The tabouli was not to my taste there, the potato salad was spot on very tasty and flavorful. The round hush puppy was undercooked raw center it had potential had it not been under cooked . and the little tube shaped hush puppy was really tough and no flavor, in my opinion this one should be taking off their menu. You kinda had to just find your way and figure it out we realized we were to take our plate and put it in the trash. Our self I was gonna say service was bad but that would be unfair. They're just was no service.. I wish this place well, and I do think it will be a success for those that enjoy quantity and atmosphere is not important as far as it's very loud in there etc.. a lot of rubbing elbows and such. Now for dessert they had some cobblers pudding, vanilla wafers, and then homemade vanilla ice cream on the desert. The cobbler's were dry and not made with a crust Kinda like a dump cobbler. The pudding seemed to be probably out of the can... my husband tried the cobbler and said it was dry. He stirred the ice cream through it and said it was good that way.... I didn't waste calories on it just went straight for the homemade ice cream and it was good... a texture, kinda like snow ice cream if you've ever had that.
