We visited Salt & Stone for dinner on 3/14/26. This is a steak house at the Choctaw Casino and we chose it because the menu looked good and the prices were high but reasonable so we expected a good experience. We didn't love it. Let me explain. Once inside it feels more diner like. The waitress seemed discombobulated and not as polished as you would expect. We ordered two round of drinks and both were very slow to come out. We almost cancelled the second round because we were done eating and still hadn't recieved them. I think the wait staff may have to make their own cocktails so that may be why it's so slow, I'm not sure though. Let's talk food. We ordered the ribeye with brussel sprouts and carrots. It was very mid. It was a $60 steak so we expected more. It came off as a steak from chilis. It also had a peppercorn sauce on top that wasn't the best. Veggies were good and tender. We also ordered the gnocchi. That dish was a success delicious. We absolutely recommend that one but we can't recommend the steak. The ambience was a mix of an attempt at high end and diner. Out of all the places I ate while visiting Choctaw, this was the best one. I would stick to this restaurant or the fast food places because the food elsewhere was not good at all. Easy to get to as it is right off the casino floor. Both times we came here we didn't have to wait at all. I got the prime rib and it was surprisingly good. Cooked a good tempter and great with the horseradish sauce. The star of the plate was the potato though. It was delicious, I just wish I could have finished it. read more

Nice restaurant located in the Choctaw Casino. Got in quick, prior to a concert. Food was good, no issues with gluten free options. While there were some positives in the food , we weren't blown away. It was good but a few things were less than optimal. Pork Chop was well cooked but could have used a bit of char to amplify the flavor. Brussels and potatoes were top notch. The lagging sides were the grits and corn. The grits were so dry, it was like eating moist sand. A little cream mixed in before service would have made all the difference. The corn was lackluster and needs a rework. Service wise, the young lady was nice but it took forever to get food. They were in no hurry to move folks through. Had the place been packed it would make sense but speed is not their game. Have you ever lost money at a casino? Well here at Salt & Stone you are one meal away from loosing it all. Your money, appetite, and the expectations of a "nice meal" will be gone faster than trying to win a hand pay in the high limits room. (I'm trying to write this review now without gagging/throwing up right now). If you are reading this review right now do not try to get a table... a short walk to GUY FIERI'S AMERICAN KITCHEN + BAR would be a better choice than Salt & Stone. Let's dissect Salt & Stone's failures given their overall ambiance, food and prices. Their claims/ambiance: -Specialty dishes from land -All made with fresh ingredients -How they portray themselves online and outside of the restaurant To start I'll give some praise to the physical ambience since it does look like a nice steak house from the inside that is well decorated with a theme that does immerse you. But that immersion is broken when it comes to the food. That's the main problem... charging high prices for poor food quality that does not match the physical atmosphere of a higher quality restaurant. I would equate the food quality to a Luby's cafeteria or a High School cafeteria in terms of what we had tonight. What we had tonight: -Cheesy Brussels & Bacon Dip -All-American cheese burger (what I had) -Braised Short Ribs -Fried Half Chicken -Wild Mushroom Gnocchi Honestly the cheesy brussels and bacon dip was the best thing on the menu that we got... but it lacked brussel sprouts. It was good enough that I didn't think anything about it. But doing more research on the internet I stumbled upon a youtuber named The Insane Chef. He did a review two years ago titled Casino Food Reviews Episode 1- Salt and Stone. He ordered the same appetizer and it looked so much better than what we had tonight. In his video there were brussel sprouts visually seen in the dip. In our dip there was no signs of brussel sprouts. I should have gotten a photo but the dip was honestly fine. Now onto the 20 dollar cheese burger that I ordered. I was thinking that the burger was the safest thing to order on the menu. How can you mess up a simple cheese burger? Well you can... the quality of the meat, the bun, and the cheese does not reflect the price of 20 dollars. The meat tasted like school quality hamburger meat, the cheese was obviously individually plastic wrapped american cheese, and the bun was of a cafeteria quality too. My dad and I couldn't even finish half of our burgers. Back to The Insane Chefs youtube video... two years ago the same burger included incredible looking bacon, a cheese that doesn't look like plastic, shallot jam, and an onion bun. Now thats a burger thats worth 20 dollars and matches the atmosphere of the overall restaurant. I actually feel horrible for Salt & Stone since they don't have the same quality today that was present 2 years ago. My other family members were upset with the quality too. They took a few bites of the short ribs and gnocchi and had a full plate of food to send back to the kitchen just to be thrown away. It says something when we were unable to finish/eat our meals since the quality was horrible. I want to cheer on Salt & Stone, but it is hard to if the food quality is horrid and the prices don't justify what you are getting. Salt & Stone's goals should be striving to bring back the food quality that they had two years ago. The service was great. Good atmosphere. Catfish was like eating mud no tartar sauce. I have no problem paying 50 or 100$ for a steak if it's worth it. The steak was bland and medium rare was barely any pink on one end, and at the price point it is served with French fries. A little salt would have went a long way. Two received theirs after an hour wait, other two ordered Gnocchi. It was rancid. Sent it back and ordered prime rib. It never came, nor did the refill of iced teas. Yet, the wait staff kept coming by asking if we needed anything. We thought we were on Candid Camera and being punked! It has never had good service and the food is mediocre. We waited about 45 minutes for the food (only saw our server once during that time) to come out and it was lukewarm, however the biscuits and gravy/scrambled eggs were cold. We sent them back and again, waited a long time. They came out lukewarm. Biscuits were hard and gravy is over salted. The omelets were overcooked but edible. The potatoes were the only thing hot and delicious. We gave one star for the potatoes and coffee. (But only got one refill of coffee since we hardly saw our server.) The Salt & Stone brunch menu was one of the best around in terms of options. The wait at 10:30am was 45 minutes, but the service was good. The omelet was good, but it could've used a little less salt and pepper considering the cheese and meats added a lot of natural saltiness. The breakfast potatoes were crunchy and delicious. The pancakes were the crispy griddle type that fall apart in the middle as opposed to the soft fluffy type. However, it was good proportionally and very tasty. I'd recommend getting a salty side (eggs, meat, etc) to balance out the sweetness. My only criticism is the surcharge on our build your own omelet. Apparently we were supposed to pick one meat, but the menu didn't clarify that so we were charged a little extra. Had lunch one day which wasn't too bad. Our waitress was new and very sweet. She was learning and so we were patient. Went back next morning for breakfast and had same waitress. Our breakfast was terrible. Ordered over medium eggs and they came out with the whites not even cooked. Sent them back and the next order came out the same way. While enjoying a casino day celebrating a friend's Bday we had a lite lunch at Salt & Stone. Best part is located in the new casino at Choctaw all non smoking. Had the fried green tomatoes, truffle fries and a bowl of gumbo on this cold day. The Gumbo was the star dark roux, stuffed full of sausage and chicken with a large scoop of jasmine rice to mix in. So rich and yummy and only $9.00. Another yummy is the little tray of corn muffins and honey butter when you sit down. Topped off with a espressos martini. The poutine didn't have cheese curds/was just brown mush, the shrimp was just thawed frozen shrimp and wasn't blackened, the potato salad was neon green and the waiter wasn't sure why LOL. I had a $20 dollar voucher to use for this place so I decided to come here and eat since I wanted to try something new and the prices were not too bad. The atmosphere in here is top notch as it arrangement looks really nice. Our server was great and attentive and very friendly. She made sure my water was full and made sure I was happy so I gave her a 25% percent tip. She asked if I wanted appetizers, drinks, etc I ordered the $28 dollar pork chop which came with vegetable and potatoes. I was not too hungry as I did eat at the Winstar buffet earlier. Now it was not too busy, but the food does come out slow. Not so sure if the pork chop takes a long time or not. The vegetables were very good. Pork chop was good, there were some dry spots here and there, but it is hard to make a juicy one so I understand. Sauce was great. The biggest problem is it does take a long time for the food to come out. I think I waited 40 to 50 minutes waiting and it was not busy in there maybe 5 to 6 tables with no big party. Overall, I would not mind coming back here again, but know that if you are in a rush do not expect to come in and out and better off using your voucher at the buffet. read more

We are locals so we love to visit the casino and hang out. We have tried most of the restaurants here but this was our first visit to Salt & Stone. They've done a great job with this place. I love the atmosphere. Our food was delicious, came out in a timely manner, and was good and hot. Everything we tried was very good. Our server was the epitome of professionalism. She was quickly met our every need. I have to say she was one of the best servers we've had anywhere. It's a rare quality to be friendly and welcoming without interrupting or getting too chatty.
