Had a great dinner at 1832 Steakhouse at Choctaw in Durant, Oklahoma. This place delivers. Started with the seafood tower and it was very good. Lots of variety, great seasoning, and plenty of sauces to choose from. The crab cake was next. Full of crab, not just filler. Exactly how it should be. For mains, I had the filet cooked perfectly with great seasoning. Others at the table had the New York strip and the chicken, and they both loved theirs. Sides were asparagus, mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were out of this world. Drinks: The Old Smoky was good, and I did an espresso martini "creamy" which I really enjoyed. Dessert was the Bananas Foster done tableside. Amazing. Great presentation and even better taste. Service was on point the whole night. We went to 1832 for a friend's birthday and were not disappointed. The ambiance was warm, they had live music, and the food was good. We shared the 16 ounce ribeye which was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Our baked potato was prepared and split for us and we enjoyed a 1/2 wedge salad with ranch dressing. Oh, and the bread went beautifully with the house butter. So creamy! The only negative was the music was a little too loud and the service was good, I just can't say outstanding. I would recommend the restaurant for a special occasion as it is a little pricey, but after all you are in a casino so that being considered it was reasonable for a steakhouse. read more

For appetizers, had the lobster bisque and crab cakes. Both were amazing. For entrees, we got the redfish and salmon, amazing. For sides we got mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. We went back and forth about getting a side of creamed spinach and decided not to get it. Luke informed us that it was his favorite side and he brought one out for us anyway as a surprise, such a class act! The sides were pretty large for 2 ppl. We barely were even able to eat half. For dessert, we had the key lime tart, so good. Literally no complaints from start to finish. The ambiance, service and food were worth every bit of 5 stars! Had a great dinner at 1832 Steakhouse! They started us with a delicious variety of breads. We really enjoyed the rolls and focaccia bread. We had the lobster bisque and Caesar salad. They were both amazing! The Caesar had anchovies, which I love. The Seabass was equally delicious and cooked perfectly. We ended our dinner with the chocolate cake. It was rich and very moist. The old fashioned was good, as well. I had a couple of martinis, but I would skip those and order the old fashioned. Definitely a must try if you're at Choctaw! read more

The aromas coming out of this place are absolutely amazing! I went on a Saturday night and I suggest you get reservations because you will definitely have to wait in line if you don't. My friend and I were able to grab a couple seats at the bar after waiting 30-40 mins. Well worth it. I recommend the Lobster Mac for sure. I enjoyed my red fish but i was hoping there'd be more crawfish étouffée. All in all such a great time. Everyone was so friendly and I look forward to visiting again :) read more

Went to 1832 Steakhouse last night for a business dinner and it was wonderful. Started with Seven onion soup and then had the 10oz Chef's cut ribeye with blue cheese on top, which was phenomenal. For my libation choice I went with a couple of dirty martinis and an old fashioned for the chocolate cake that we chose desert. To be clear, this is why we come to the Choctaw Casino in Durant. Our first visit coincided with the opening of the steakhouse and it's been our pleasure to visit each time we stay, sometimes multiple times during the same stay. Skip, our waiter, is a delight. Coming in hot with a smile and recommendations based on what we had last time we were in, he ensured our service was top-notch. Cocktails were perfectly crafted and our meal paced out as we preferred. A table in the middle of the dining room provided a great view of the (albeit cloudy) sunset and the proposal that happened at the adjacent table. Who doesn't love love? We started with the charcuterie for the table, and everyone was happy with the sampling of cheeses, meats, honey on the comb, pickled veg, berries, and thin crostini. The perfect way to gear up your appetite! We split the steakhouse salad and our friends split the wedge--generous portions of each ensured there was plenty. Some of the greens in my salad had gone past green to yellow, however. For mains I selected the perfectly tender and prepared filet, he chose the ribeye with two sauces--chimichurri and bacon-apricot, both of which were divine. We selected the crispy Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and Boursin whipped potatoes as sides and the potatoes were the hands-down favorite! Definitely had to try desserts so we had the crème brûlée--a classic that was perfectly prepared with a crisp top and creamy custard flecked with vanilla--and a salted caramel bourbon bread pudding--luscious ice cream on a bread pudding base with salted pecans and a bourbon caramel sauce ... holy show stopper! The Boursin mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts were both wonderful, so I'm sure all of their sides are great as well. Sides are family size and enough for 3-4 people. I only have songs of praises for 1832. It is fine dining with excellent waitstaff. Evelyn was our main server and she provided amazing and impeccable service and attention. We had a party of 10 and the room that we were given was very comfortable and spacious. There were many choices on the menu but I was able to narrow down my choices to first, an Old Fashioned followed by the Lobster Bisque and King Salmon. The Old Fashioned was no ordinary cocktail. It was SMOKE & MIRRORS, Smoke-Infused Classic Old-Fashioned Served in a Carafe, Basil Hayden's Small Batch Bourbon, Liber & Co. Demerara Gum Syrup, Black Walnut Bitters. The Lobster Bisque was also quite uniquely served in a soup bowl with Petite Lobster Beignets and a sizable piece of lobster and then the Crème Fraîche was slowly poured into the bowl. I was blown away by the Miso-Glazed King Salmon, Golden Cauliflower Purée, Ginger-Marinated Exotic Mushrooms, Nước Chấm, Crushed Cashews, Sango Radish Sprouts which graced my palate with ultimate deliciousness. We ended up getting comps at the steak place by going to the Rewards members. I asked for 100 dollars worth of food comps and the lady said I think you should ask for more and I said how about $200 and management agreed. Was scared they were not going to honor this as we got $100 at the other location. The place you need to take a reservation and we did this through their website which is nice and we made reservations. We went here on a Sunday and the place is upstairs. You can take the elevator or take the stairs, but it is really fancy. This place is probably the most expensive place I have eaten at, but we were getting comp. So was it easy to spend $350 dollars worth of food, yes and no as we did come in here full from lunch as we had a late one and I was still full from that. We ordered the 1. 12 ounce rib eye with the mushrooms - mushrooms were good. I think next time I will come hungry and get their biggest steak to share with my wife 2. Seafood tower - lobster tails, oysters, shrimp, mussels 3. Fried Seafood - calamari , shrimp, crawfish 4. Bread pudding with ice cream The total bill come up to be $287 dollars. I am sure if we ordered another entre be easy in the $300's for sure and we did not order any drinks. Service was outstanding and the food I highly recommend. They do give you a lot of food so prepare to come hungry. We did get some boxes to go. I hardly ate any of the bread. What a delightful surprise to enjoy dinner at this steakhouse in Durant, OK. The service (especially from our server, Melanie) was excellent. She knew how to pace her "check in's" throughout our meal and gave us wonderful suggestions on what to order. The filet was succulent and cooked to a perfect medium rare. I ordered a scallop and shrimp dish over Gouda grits and it was excellent. We appreciated that they were willing to split our salad and baked potato without the typical rolling of the eyes we have received when we have made these requests. The wine choices were ample and fairly priced. A surprise was the onion soup. It wasn't the typical recipe as this was lighter, yet had a robust flavor. Steak was cooked perfectly, but food was lukewarm, the seasoning was ok. There was a tomato relish on the side of the steak dishes that tasted more like tomato paste, and no one at the table felt that it complimented the meat. Sides were lackluster. The Mac and cheese was on the drier side, the creamed spinach and whipped potatoes were not memorable. The experience overall was just ok. I don't think I'll be back. Service was good, as it should be. This was our second time here and we came back because we enjoyed it so much. This time around sucked. None of the food was worthy. Our soups and salads were a disappointment because they were one of the reasons for us to to come back and this time around they were just ok. The porterhouse with lobster bernaise (a $35 add) was inedible. The steak was raw to almost well done in sections. The lobster was completely over cooked and rubbery. According to our server they're between head chefs. Apparently nobody in the kitchen knows what they're doing to send out the quality of food we received. read more

She wasn't our server, but you could hear her across the room. The cowboy ribeye is divine! It's super flavorful and definitely big enough to split. We also enjoyed the Boursin whipped potatoes and the creme brulee. The two downsides were the lack of gluten free bread and cold squishy tomatoes on the caprese. The pesto, mozzarella, and grape tomatoes were perfect in the salad. We didn't care for the thick rolled up prosciutto that had an off putting taste. We will be back for that steak! read more

Located on the 3rd floor of Choctaw's Durant Sky Tower. A very elegant fine dining ambiance. Trent was our server, he provided excellent service and was very accommodating for us especially being the last group of evening. The food was good, not great but good. I enjoyed my ribeye, Trent advised me that if I prefer my steak medium rare to go with this option rather than that option which I was grateful for, because you're girl cannot eat anything more cooked than medium rare! The steaks were a bit on the salty side but I was okay with it, my guests for the evening weren't so much. The Brussels were good, the Mac and cheese were good, the wild mushrooms were alright. We also had the seafood tower, most of it was fresh and good the only thing were the black mussels were so shriveled. We also had the banana foster, which was also just alright. I tasted more orange than bananas in there, but Trent provided a great show nonetheless. The ice cream part tasted a bit watered down for me (could be the bourbon, but you can tell when you eat it.) If they cut their price by 20 percent they would be on par with the other steakhouses in the region. Second, Luke, our server, was amazing!! Demerara Gum Syrup, Angostura Bitters, Muddled Orange Peel) probably one of the best old fashions I have had!! Gold Rush (buffalo trace bourbon, honey syrup, lemon) which was sweet and tart and a Blood Orange Spritz (Aperol, Prosecco, Liber & Co. Blood Orange Cordial, Grapefruit & Lemon); ice waters around the table were kept full, in addition, they served warm bread immediately with fresh whipped butter. We had a late lunch so we shared the crab cakes (Large lump crab cakes on a bed of remoulade and petite arugula topped with a corn relish) , 8oz filet - (perfectly seasoned and cooked as ordered, with a spoonful of roasted tomato chutney on the side - lots of flavor), wedge salad (fresh, crispy baby iceberg with black pepper bacon, heirloom tomatoes, thin slices of red onion, creamy blue cheese dressing topped with chives) and sides of whipped potatoes and creamed spinach. Prior to receiving the food they come around with a box of custom steak knives where you choose your own, nice touch. All the food was served warm, fresh and cooked to order. We decided to splurge a bit on a nice bottle of wine and our first pick was out of stock so the manager came by with a new suggestion which was exceptional and gave us a free charcuterie board to go with it which was a really nice offering. From service to the quality of food, this was a great experience. When visiting over my husbands birthday weekend, we had a dinner at 1832. My husband met me from gambling and (luckily) they are resort casual and he didn't need to change. The complimentary bread that started the meal was delicious. Salted and seasoned deliciously, it was super addictive and hard to not keep eat more. For dinner, I ordered the scallops and shrimp which was a great portion and perfectly cooked. Although I didn't need a side, I had to try the Mac and cheese which I loved and can't wait to eat my leftovers. My husband ordered the filet and a baked potato. Again perfectly cooked and well seasoned. He left nothing on the plate (except the picketed cauliflower). A very nice touch with this restaurant is that you get to choose your own knife before the main entree. They are VERY nice knives. Our server, Colton, was helpful and attentive throughout the meal. We asked questions about the food, the martini glass and the knives and anything he didn't know the answer about he went to find out for us. It does seem like they give a free dessert for birthdays but my husband (wanting to get back to gambling) declined.
