Let me explain. Once inside it feels more diner like. The waitress seemed discombobulated and not as polished as you would expect. We ordered two round of drinks and both were very slow to come out. We almost cancelled the second round because we were done eating and still hadn't recieved them. I think the wait staff may have to make their own cocktails so that may be why it's so slow, I'm not sure though. Let's talk food. We ordered the ribeye with brussel sprouts and carrots. It was very mid. It was a $60 steak so we expected more. It came off as a steak from chilis. It also had a peppercorn sauce on top that wasn't the best. Veggies were good and tender. We also ordered the gnocchi. That dish was a success delicious. We absolutely recommend that one but we can't recommend the steak. The ambience was a mix of an attempt at high end and diner. See my pics and you will understand. We won't go back and we usually try a place twice before we make that decision. Weirdly, they piled kale on the plate first and then put the calamari on that. Seems like a 90's plating style to make it look like there was an even larger amount of calamari on the plate. The calamari portion was just right, so skip the extra kale as all it does is get tossed in the trash. Entrees were kabobs and grilled shrimp, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp and I too enjoyed the kabobs, well seasoned and the portion sizes were perfect. Since the ownership has changed, the food is definitely better than the last 2-3 years, which is great news. Final comment, even on our entree's, the plating again included a pile of kale and a weird twisted slice of orange. Skip the kale or anything not intended for the diner to eat as it detracts from the presentation. Will we go back? Most likely.

The decor inside is pretty nice. It's a little loud but we expected that on a Saturday night. The server was nice but the kitchen didn't help her out much. We got our appetizer salads at the same time as our entree. My wife ordered medium rare steak and got medium. Not so great for how much they charge in Durant. These prices are more in line with the DFW area. I will say the taste of her steak somewhat redeemed it though. My pork chop was good and so was the loaded baked potato. I also ordered the strawberry jubilee cake and it was dry. Also, didn't taste fresh. Almost tasted store bought. Not too good for the price they charged. They are charging higher end steakhouse prices but only delivering lower to barely mid range quality.

Lol I immediately smile back and said well what am I paying for? She said the buffer. I told her that "it is our first time here. Sorry I did not know." Everything is on disposable styrofoam plates and disposable utensils... I chose a small piece of the baked fish put a few small pieces of the fried fish, one, each of the two different hush puppies, about three fries of each type they had sweet potato, and regular russet, then I made a plate of salad, which had tabouli, which I was excited about potato salad, Caesar salad, regular salad and a beet. I also put about three boiled cold, shrimp, peel, and eat type on my plate. My husband tried most of everything as well. I am a condiment junkie, so I had to get a little bit of their cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and green tomatoes. In saying all of that, we were optimistic.. the fish is very very average. The tabouli was not to my taste there, the potato salad was spot on very tasty and flavorful. The round hush puppy was undercooked raw center it had potential had it not been under cooked . and the little tube shaped hush puppy was really tough and no flavor, in my opinion this one should be taking off their menu. We live close to the area so we Tried again and they were not closed. It is a buffet only and includes the drink. It is clean and bright and well decorated. Service: you serve yourself and they pick up the plates after you eat. It's styrofoam and plastic utensils. The buffet consisted of: fried catfish, fried butterfly shrimp, baked fish, boiled shrimp, the standard things that go with fried cat fish (coleslaw, fries, potato salad, okra), small salad bar which also included a Caesar salad. There is baked potato bar as well as red beans. The fried food was either under or over fried. I didn't eat the baked fish which I should have. The catfish was Meh. They had deserts which were a cobbler, chocolate and banana puddings, and I'm not sure what the other was. The cobbler didn't look appealing. They did have homemade ice cream. They had banana and vanilla. It was the the bomb!! Cost was almost $35 for 2. Doubt we would be back since the fish was Meh.

Today was the final straw for me with the selfish almost criminal business practices these people have. A restaurant owner can only use the Economy and prices for so long. Before Customers say NO. I've ordered Numerous times using Texoma Delivery Service. So it's not about money this is about principle and service. As well as Quality and quantity. I just spent $60 for two meals. One Three piece catfish and one chicken friend chicken. It doesn't matter what you order from this business NEVER and I mean NEVER show up hungry. You will be absolutely left still hungry after being ROBBED at the register. The Quality is NOT homemade. Especially when it comes to the sides. If you order delivery? Be prepared to never get what you order and if you do? You'll be missing the condiments required to have your SNACK. Because it's NOT a meal you receive. The same with their desserts. The chicken fried chicken is a chicken breast sliced in half with then only giving you half of the pounded down breast and tiny scoop of whatever your side is. The mashed potatoes taste like GLUE. The texture is like a thick paste. The Mac N Cheese tastes like watered down Kraft man n cheese. The white Gravy I can't even use because just the taste before I even put it on anything was enough warning to toss it in the TRASH. I've watched many restaurants come and go from this building. You'd rather rip off hard working Americans to turn your lights on. Then proved what a Consumer is being charged for. I've been the one sick bed ridden and trying to make sure my spouse who's a FARMER has a hot meal when he comes in from working his 13 hour day. I'm the one who's trying to figure out how to make up for your lack of Ethics or mistakes. And I'm the one paying for this Crap you call FOOD.
