We chose to have dinner here our first evening at the resort. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server. I ordered the salmon my wife had the chicken Alfredo pasta. Both came on time, but honestly, the food tasted just average or below average the salmon seem to have been frozen and had a fishy taste, which normally salmon does not have, and the Alfredo was a little gritty and extra salty, the price was decent. OK so here's the deal. The food is great accept for the desserts. We ordered drinks from the bar and water the glasses came out with so many spots they looked filthy. We asked to speak to the manager 20 minutes later I asked is the manager going to come out here and apparently CC, was busy taking care of cashing out a server. So it tells you that they're more proud of getting their money than they are taking care of the customer. So my advice is, if you'd like to eat here order it to go you won't be disappointed as long as you don't have to sit in this restaurant. read more

This place is well designed and decorated with a helpful/kind staff. The food is a mixed bag, however. Avoid the beef. I've had the rib-eye and prime rib. Both were pretty awful. I ordered the Salt & Stone All American breakfast, three eggs cooked perfectly over medium as requested with bacon, potatoes w/onions and a biscuit. Be prepared the server will ask if you want a side of gravy for your biscuit, not knowing what I would get I accepted this offer. This was more than just a side, it was a massive bowl with pieces of sausage in the gravy. This portion size was large enough for two in my opinion. The gravy was thick, creamy and the sausage pieces had a kick to them, it was very good but for an upcharge of $5 I would pass on this the next time. My partner ordered the Egg White harvest omelet add jalapeños, with breakfast potatoes w/onions, a side of berries and a biscuit. Ordered the spicy shrimp with togarashi aoli sauce which was lukewarm soggy shrimp smothered in mayonnaise with maybe a dash of ketchup to give it color. Definitely no spice. Very friendly perky waitress. Heard the brunch was great but unfortunately we went in too late so there was only the lunch/dinner menu. Not a huge selection but everything we got was great! The fries are to die for. The burger comes without vegetables so we asked the waitress for some and she brought out an entire platter of lettuce tomato and onion it was great. To say that Choctaw is a casino... the food is horrible. The food is priced for fresh product but the food is all out of the bag and prepped when orders. To add the same type of food circulates between certain restaurants within the casino. You will be better off going to the gas station and getting a slice of convenience store pizza! Choctaw really need to revamp the restaurants. The leadership team should spend equal time planning for a better eating experience just as the gaming experience! read more

Granted, we were told upfront they were severely understaffed (who isn't) so I can't hold that against them too badly. So the restaurant was less than half-filled on a Sunday night, but we waited almost an hour and a half. You'd think with that few people they wouldn't run out of stuff, but pork chops was a no-go, as well as sea bass. And there was no bartender for wine. So water it was. My husband and I are staying in a comp room at the Choctaw Resort in Durant, and after reading Yelp reviews of all the restaurants here, I decided on Salt and Stone. I came in with low expectations since it was rated only three stars, but I was absolutely delighted with our visit! The food was sooooo good! We began with the Fried Green Tomato appetizer ( worth the drive back here alone) and the pimento cheese. The fried green tomatoes were ridiculously good. The pimento cheese was good, as well. I think it was just overshadowed by the other appetizer. My husband had a margarita which was good, and I had the Stone Garden, which was sweet and refreshing! We then shared the BBQ Salmon which was TO DIE FOR!! Our sweet waitress, Kaylinn, asked how we wanted it cooked, ( we said well done simultaneously which I know isn't the right answer for seafood) and it came out PERFECTLY cooked! It was so good! The apple slaw under it was amazing, as well. We both said we'd make the drive back to Durant just to eat here again. Great food! Great service! (Thanks Kaylinn!) Had a great dinner. Hubbie had burger w/fries and said was really good. I had the gumbo w/chicken & sausage. I like to consider myself a gumbo aficionado and this was really good. It was spicier than I prefer but I'm a whimp! Nice dark Smokey flavored rue w/just the right thickness, not pudding or watery!! I then had the Cobb salad w/their dressing. Was all terrific! I had the bisque (not the best I've ever had, but tasty) snd the spinach/mushroom pesto gnocchi. It was excellent, loaded with a wide variety of mushrooms, and prepared to perfection. Literally saved the day! After going to 1832 steakhouse and waiting over 20 minutes to even get a server to take our drink order, we decided to leave there and head over here for my husband's birthday. Thank goodness the service was top-notch we had our appetizers before five minutes was even up. Everyone was so kind and happy and just an overall good energy in the restaurant. Our server Emily was awesome, and really helped make my husband's birthday better than it was going. Every server in the restaurants had a smile on their face. What an awesome experience. I work here I can tell you the managers are not the food is really good I recommend the Salt & Stone breakfast it is a big meal you would get 3 eggs any style any side of breakfast meat breakfast potatoes any side of toast you can get 4 seed white wheat or a biscuit and a side of pancakes I also recommend the chili shrimp it sounds spicy it isn't at all I wish there were more shrimp don't get me wrong but this is my 100% go to I recommend this restaurant it's not only because I work here but they really have good food read more

The best thing about my meal was the togarashi shrimp appetizer and my server Michael! The head chef said that the shrimp in my carbonara was sauteed and it was definitely not. There was no caramelization and it tasted pre-bioled and like it was simply thrown into the pasta as an after thought! Also the pasta called for lardons, which was not used, they used bacon probably from the morning lol....overall okay. Frequenting Choctaw Casino a lot, travelling from out of town, I check out the restaurants in Durant and in the casino. For the most part -- disappointing -- food is heavy, typical for this area -- unhealthy grease, too much salt and cheese -- BBQ, American, fast food, etc. And for the casino -- way too overpriced, as one would expect for a casino. SO -- I was very pleasantly surprised with Salt and Stone. They have some healthy California-ish weird dishes in their repertoire. Turkey Club Sandwich (what I ordered) - Lots of beautiful shaved non-processed turkey Maple bacon - like candied bacon - it was better when I crisped it up with my leftovers in the oven, but very good Heirloom tomatoes Sandwich bread was a really good cranberry walnut bread Cranberry aioli- not too heavy Pickled Onions - yummy - added wonderful texture Cheeseburger - Looked great - nice bun, good condiments - didn't taste, but my friend said it was good. I loved the food it was delicious and very good portions I specially liked the potatoes, the decoré was modern and elegant and the ambience was very calm and relaxing it was also very clean and open loved the big windows. The staff was friendly but they did take a long time to come around and check on the table. We asked for French vanilla creamer for our coffees and she took about 15 min I ended up asking another waitress for it. And it wasn't even creamer, not sure what it was. read more

As for the state of the restaurant, it was a little dirty with crumbs on the table and chairs which is understandable if you were packed but it was empty. The staff was friendly and attentive, unfortunately the food was not good. The eggs were definitely powdered with the texture they had and the bacon had clearly been sitting in a warming drawer for hours. Considering it took about 5 minutes for my plate to come out they obviously pre-cook everything and let it sit in a warming drawer until plating. Even the free beignets they give to each table were almost stale they'd been sitting out so long. The food was great when we finally got it. Cheesy Brussels sprout and bacon dip - tasted delicious but was more like spinach dip with some Brussels sprouts, cheese, and bacon on top. Salads were great except they both came out with no dressing and we had to ask for it to be brought out. Club sandwich and pork chop were also delicious. All of the portions were huge which would have been great since we were so hungry but after waiting almost an hour for our food, we had to scarf it down to make it to the concert on the other side of the casino. We waited about 20 mins for a table for 4 which seemed pretty reasonable for a Friday night with a concert. We walked in to a half full restaurant. We watched as three tables complained to management about not receiving things they ordered. Despite all the staff walking around getting complaints from our surrounding tables, no one acknowledged us for 15 mins. Our waitress appeared and when asked told us that no, we would not be out within 1 hr so we could make it to the concert on time. To be clear, the majority of the tiny menu is salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Multiple people came by to ask if we needed anything and we just kept saying we needed the things we had ordered. All in all, the food was delicious and the portions were generous. There was an abundance of staff yet no one could seem to get food and drinks out to the tables. If they can figure that one tiny detail out then this will be a great place. If you look at the website and the first review here, there is a very extensive menu. When we arrived at the restaurant, the menu was significantly shortened with very few offerings which was disappointing. read more
