Went to The Right Spot on 6/30/2026 and was thoroughly surprised. Was not sure what to expect but was very happy I tried the Place. It is a quaint little place located off Morton & Armstrong. It is a great restaurant that sells fish, burgers and wings along with chicken sandwiches. We started off our meal with the fried green tomatoes, which were great. I then had the fried chicken club sandwich and my wife had the catfish. We both liked our meals and will be going back. Definitely recommend!! read more

The Right spot is Open! Tables are not cleaned promptly after people leave. Inside is still the same, seems to have more staffing. 2 guys just chilling in the dining room, no drinks or food? Kinda sketch. Ok they got a drink. Food is coming out kinda slow but its usually worth the wait. Ok food was good, not as good as normal but good. Kitchen needs to work on getting food out and timing, for example my burger was not hot, my wifes was, my tots had obviously sat while my wifes fresh chips got fried. I live exactly 2 blocks away and we ordered food to go. We left the house at 5:33 and got home at 6:17, no side trips or extra stops. I really like the owners and the staff is attentive. We waited 1 week after the re opening to go in. They will get the kinks worked out and the flow moving in the kitchen. Still a local spot that deserves your business. We ordered togo but wished we could have stayed cause the atmosphere is so welcoming in there, it feels like eating at a loving family member's home. Service was on point and the food was phenomenal. I will most definitely be back. Best Togo food I've had in a very long time. It didn't get soggy or taste any less amazing when we got it to where we were going. If you've been around Lake Texoma for numerous years you will recall Windys Catfish (RIP) in Oklahoma, and Arlenes Catfish (RIP) in Texas. Both were local restaurants that unfortunately we've lost. We now have "The Right Spot" located in Denison, Texas. They have a wide variety of different food items to make everyone happy. But the CATFISH is what's been missing in Texomaland. NOT ANY MORE!!! They have the most amazing catfish, cooked through and through, fresh, hot, and crispy. My daughter, son-in-law, GRAND baby and I, had lunch here on Tuesday. We had the catfish, hot wings, Philly cheesesteak, and french fries. We all raved about how delicious everything was. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner on Tuesday and what a kind, caring gentleman he is. He runs a very clean/spotless restaurant. His employees are top notch and attentive. We lacked for nothing. I mentioned to the owner I would return later this week with my spouse. Well this evening I took him there. So I have now been here two times this week. Of course I had the 2 piece catfish again. 2 pieces are too much for me because the pieces are so huge. My spouse thoroughly enjoyed his catfish dinner, and can't wait to return. I've been really excited to try this place, so many of my friends have highly recommended it. My guess is we (my daughter and I) came in on an off day so take this with a grain of salt...It is a Thursday, early evening, all the tables are full when we arrived although we were seated promptly. The place is small but cute, definitely feels like you're getting cozy with everyone in there. We started off with the fried pickles, they are cut super thin and done in a corn meal batter, 10/10 delicious and crunchy. My daughter ordered the catfish nuggets, they were way over cooked and difficult to bite/chew. They looked liked semi-burnt cornmeal balls, I'm not sure there was actually any catfish in them, & they were totally lacking in flavor. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fried okra. It pains me to say it, but it was so awful. The bacon was cooked beyond being edible, the burger patty, clearly cooked from frozen was so thin and tasteless. Overall trying to eat the burger made me feel like I was trying to bite through rusty nails. The okra was actually cooked perfectly but was just plain, no flavor. The staff seemed distant and uninterested but pleasant. I don't get southern or soul-food, there's a ton of disposable plastic used, and the prices are a little high for the portions served. I went again tonight, like I do every two weeks on Thursday night. My favorite is the cheeseburger, add jalapeños. It is always good! I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this place more often! When I was eating there twice a week, I would often see the owners and day manager. They were always kind, visited with me and made sure all was good! Service was OFF THE CHAIN fantastic - so attentive. And the restaurant itself is really sharp- very well designed. Loved it. We ordered chicken and waffles and a crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken and waffles was a frozen chicken patty reheated and placed on a waffle. Not terrible. But not great. Crispy chicken wasn't crispy. It had a few chewy knuckles in there and so, I wasn't able to finish it. The people next to us said "you should always get the catfish here" and so we should have. I'd been wanting to try The Right Spot for a while and FINALLY got to try it. The owners/staff are as pleasant and welcoming as can be. It's a small place, but has a nice size patio. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs when I went, so inside it was. The cafe food was delicious, as I got a burger and tots, which were perfect. But the topper was the spectacular lemon cake. Not being familiar with many foods in this area, I asked what some were; they respectfully described them, and I was thrilled. I recommend the ochra, the catfish, the velvet cake, and the "filly." The girl cleaning off tables dropped the nasty rag on the floor and put it back in the bucket to clean tables with again. We left with food on the table. Would not recommend.
