    Fried pickles
    Rey G.

I've been really excited to try this place, so many of my friends have highly recommended it. My guess is we (my daughter and I) came in on an off day so take this with a grain of salt...It is a Thursday, early evening, all the tables are full when we arrived although we were seated promptly. The place is small but cute, definitely feels like you're getting cozy with everyone in there. We started off with the fried pickles, they are cut super thin and done in a corn meal batter, 10/10 delicious and crunchy. My daughter ordered the catfish nuggets, they were way over cooked and difficult to bite/chew. They looked liked semi-burnt cornmeal balls, I'm not sure there was actually any catfish in them, & they were totally lacking in flavor. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fried okra. It pains me to say it, but it was so awful. The bacon was cooked beyond being edible, the burger patty, clearly cooked from frozen was so thin and tasteless. Overall trying to eat the burger made me feel like I was trying to bite through rusty nails. The okra was actually cooked perfectly but was just plain, no flavor. The staff seemed distant and uninterested but pleasant. I don't get southern or soul-food, there's a ton of disposable plastic used, and the prices are a little high for the portions served. Again, I'm hoping that this was just an off day and that in the future the food and service will be better.

The food was great. Perfect toast on the hamburger bun. Fried chips were good. Ice tea was great! Owner and staff were very friendly.

The food here was great. We ordered the wings and arguably the best we've ever had. Highly recommend.

You order at the front and they bring it out. I had a roasted chicken quinoa bowl, with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, arugula, feta, and their signature lemon basil dressing! I ordered a side of avocado lime dressing, and had a green tea with lavender (unsweetened), and added stevia. The only thing is that the staff kinda doesn't say much. The girl who rang me up didn't know what the dressing was on the bowl, seemed to not know the menu well, and was friendly enough, but just needed more training or something. I'm a foodie so- I studied the menu beforehand. I used to own a 4 star in Louisiana. I knew every aspect of menu. I overtipped her up front. She brought the food but didn't check on me. I had to ask for things. I really didn't care because I love to eat in peace. But they weren't busy enough to be so.... I don't know... a little snooty? They spoke a lot to each other. The food was made where you could see it. All sustainable, farm to table, organic, etc... when I left, I asked for a to go container. Another girl brought it while the main girl was sweeping all around me (kind of a no no). The other girl was cute and more friendly. Seemed comfortable. I even was going to buy a tin of their tea but it wasn't marked. I asked the main girl how much it was. She said she would check, kept sweeping and doing her side work, and didn't come tell me the price until I was leaving (a sale lost). It's my 3rd time there and the staff is always kinda like that... almost as of they expect you to know the menu yourself. But when I left, one of the chefs opened the door and walked out with me. He was super nice. I guess it's hit and miss with the service but they do deliver it in a timely manner and it's super fresh. I just never let any of my servers hit the floor or greet a guest unless they could describe each dish with such detail that your mouth watered. I upsold. I checked on people and so did my staff. We asked questions and got to know our guests. But all in all this place I HIGHLY. recommend!!!!!!

A first rate coffee shop that puts the indie coffee shops of Austin to shame…read more And I should know - living in Austin and spending a lot of time in coffee shops. If Lettuce Indulge was in my hometown, it would be my number one hangout coffee shop. They specialize in very high quality straight up coffee, their own self-invented elaborate coffee drinks - and healthy main dishes. I did a straight up espresso and a chicken and good-for-you-stuff bowl. The straight up espresso was so good - I went for a second about twenty minutes later. I don't have a coffee taster's vocabulary - But this was a non-burnt, non-heavy, complicated, intriguing brew. It was not like any coffee I had had in a long time. * * * The chicken bowl beat the stupid stuff Starbucks sells you for lunch easily. My home coffee shops vary in the quality of their kitchens. There are some sandwiches and salads to die for. There is also a lot of mediocre stuff that makes Starbucks lunch look good. If my chicken bowl had been rated on an Austin scale from 1 to 10, It would have been a solid 8. I would be happy to eat that over and over and over again. * * * The room is fine. The folks who work there are super super friendly and super super nice. * * * The establishment closes on Sundays ... So I am going to guess that one of the owners or maybe a huge percentage of the staff are dedicated Christians. There is a lot of idealism in the craftsmanship that goes into the coffee. Same for the idealism that goes into the food. Plus the room has a very healthy vibe. There is a lot of virtue in this establishment. Virtue is a good thing.

Perfectly crisp on the outside, packed with real crab, not filler, and the texture was spot on. And the sauce? Incredible. It tied everything together in a way that made each bite better than the last. We also ordered the wagyu meatballs, and they did not disappoint. Rich, flavorful, and cooked just right, definitely not your average appetizer. And do not skip the house made bread. It is an absolute must. Soft and fluffy on the inside with the perfect crunch on the crust. Served with both cinnamon butter and regular butter, and honestly, both were so good it was hard to pick a favorite. For entrées, I had the pot roast, yum. It was served over garlic mashed potatoes with roasted carrots and was pure comfort food done right. My husband and daughter both ordered the ribeye, and they were flavorful and cooked to perfection. My son in law had the double bone pork chop, and every single one of us loved every bite of our meals. One thing to note, there is quite a bit of construction in the area right now. We had to circle the block once, and the designated parking behind the building was full, but we were able to grab a spot out front without too much trouble. And then came dessert. We shared several for the table, and every single one was a hit. The pecan praline cheesecake, do yourself a favor and add the caramel praline sauce, colossal carrot cake, crème brûlée, and bread pudding with a crème anglaise on top were absolutely delicious across the board. Easy 5 stars. We will absolutely be back.

Took my wife for Valentines night. Had a great cocktail listening to the guy singing in the lounge went up to have our steak dinner. Ordered the 16 ounce ribeye. It was very chewy with very very little flavor, however my baked potato well my twice cooked baked potato was very good and flavorful and the waiter was very good great conversation however he forgot one of our items of the brussels sprouts I was looking forward to trying - wish I had some bread and butter are something For the table that things like that but overall, you know 2 maybe 3 stars I just Thought the place was going to be a lot better than what it was. Consider it was Valentine's. Probably not a good night to come out. We ordered the 16 oz steaks. Mine was much bigger than my wife's. She liked hers. Like I said, mine lacked a lot of flavor and it was very chewy. Texas road house steak blows this way I will see if management has anything to say about my review
