Update 09-26-26: Every thing is still delicious. But the last two times the coleslaw comes without utensils on the combo meals. We've had to ask for them. Unfortunately this time our waitress was more involved with her friends dining vs the customers. We also had to remind her we asked for cocktail sauce. We received the wrong drinks as well. I got up and went to the front for refills. While I am on a roll..... those 1 ply napkins are useless. Eating fish I use a ton. My daughter even commented, we could use 2 good napkins versus 12 single ply. Yes we will return, the catfish is that good. And thank you to the lady we believe to be the cook for refilling our drinks when I went to the front. To our waitress with the braces, she possibly needs more training. read more

Had lunch (takeout) from the right spot in Denison Texas today. And it was great. I had a huge burger which was too much to eat and my husband had the fish. Which he said was great. And they were huge pieces too. I would definitely recommend this place. And the restaurant is decorated so nice. read more

The food here is amazing! I can make a meal on just the appetizers easily but any of their burgers and chicken sandwiches are amazing. The waitress is always super nice and stays on top of refills and such. It has a very small down home feel so you feel like you're eating with family instead of inside a restaurant. We used to go to this restaurant a lot. Good food and very good service. We took our grandkids there for lunch today. It turned into a cluster fudge this afternoon. Ordered our drinks and had to ask for straws. Other customers came in after us. Receiving their drinks and meals. Walkin orders came in then left with their orders. Our grandson's mac and cheese with fries finally came first. How long does it take for mac and cheese with fries? And then our salads came. Our 8 yr old granddaughter received a full sized salad. The chicken that was supposed to be on my wifes salad ended up on our granddaughter's salad instead. When our salads costing just under $9 arrived. Which weren't listed as a dinner salad. They were the size of a 1 scoop takeout of ice cream in a small cup. We had to ask for dressing 3 times before they finally brought one for our granddaughter's salad. We continued to wait for ours. We began to eat our salads while the waitress merely stood there looking lost. My wife went up to pay. When asked how things were, she explained what had happened. The owner came over to speak with me. I merely explained that we used to come there alot, but wouldn't be back after today's experience. Our entire lunch came to $40. She did reduced the price, but we won't be back because "The Right Spot" isn't that for us any longer. read more

Went to The Right Spot on 6/30/2026 and was thoroughly surprised. Was not sure what to expect but was very happy I tried the Place. It is a quaint little place located off Morton & Armstrong. It is a great restaurant that sells fish, burgers and wings along with chicken sandwiches. We started off our meal with the fried green tomatoes, which were great. I then had the fried chicken club sandwich and my wife had the catfish. We both liked our meals and will be going back. Definitely recommend!! read more

The Right spot is Open! Tables are not cleaned promptly after people leave. Inside is still the same, seems to have more staffing. 2 guys just chilling in the dining room, no drinks or food? Kinda sketch. Ok they got a drink. Food is coming out kinda slow but its usually worth the wait. Ok food was good, not as good as normal but good. Kitchen needs to work on getting food out and timing, for example my burger was not hot, my wifes was, my tots had obviously sat while my wifes fresh chips got fried. I live exactly 2 blocks away and we ordered food to go. We left the house at 5:33 and got home at 6:17, no side trips or extra stops. I really like the owners and the staff is attentive. We waited 1 week after the re opening to go in. They will get the kinks worked out and the flow moving in the kitchen. Still a local spot that deserves your business. We ordered togo but wished we could have stayed cause the atmosphere is so welcoming in there, it feels like eating at a loving family member's home. Service was on point and the food was phenomenal. I went again tonight, like I do every two weeks on Thursday night. My favorite is the cheeseburger, add jalapeños. It is always good! I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this place more often! When I was eating there twice a week, I would often see the owners and day manager. They were always kind, visited with me and made sure all was good! I've been really excited to try this place, so many of my friends have highly recommended it. My guess is we (my daughter and I) came in on an off day so take this with a grain of salt...It is a Thursday, early evening, all the tables are full when we arrived although we were seated promptly. The place is small but cute, definitely feels like you're getting cozy with everyone in there. We started off with the fried pickles, they are cut super thin and done in a corn meal batter, 10/10 delicious and crunchy. My daughter ordered the catfish nuggets, they were way over cooked and difficult to bite/chew. They looked liked semi-burnt cornmeal balls, I'm not sure there was actually any catfish in them, & they were totally lacking in flavor. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fried okra. It pains me to say it, but it was so awful. The bacon was cooked beyond being edible, the burger patty, clearly cooked from frozen was so thin and tasteless. Overall trying to eat the burger made me feel like I was trying to bite through rusty nails. The okra was actually cooked perfectly but was just plain, no flavor. The staff seemed distant and uninterested but pleasant. I don't get southern or soul-food, there's a ton of disposable plastic used, and the prices are a little high for the portions served. Again, I'm hoping that this was just an off day and that in the future the food and service will be better. read more

Service was OFF THE CHAIN fantastic - so attentive. And the restaurant itself is really sharp- very well designed. Loved it. We ordered chicken and waffles and a crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken and waffles was a frozen chicken patty reheated and placed on a waffle. Not terrible. But not great. Crispy chicken wasn't crispy. It had a few chewy knuckles in there and so, I wasn't able to finish it. The people next to us said "you should always get the catfish here" and so we should have. I'd been wanting to try The Right Spot for a while and FINALLY got to try it. The owners/staff are as pleasant and welcoming as can be. It's a small place, but has a nice size patio. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs when I went, so inside it was. The cafe food was delicious, as I got a burger and tots, which were perfect. But the topper was the spectacular lemon cake. Hands down one of the best places in town! My favorite is the fish tacos, the sauce, the hush puppies all of it so good! My husband loves the fried catfish, their appetizers, I truly can't pick a favorite!! You will not be disappointed with anything. The burgers are also incredible! My 11 year old actually found this place while we were in town one weekend. Staff was super friendly. We had some fried green tomatoes, grilled cheeses, wings and salad. This place was so hot and flies were everywhere. The one person taking orders for 3 tables, got every order wrong. Food was marginal at best. And everything came out at different times. The girl cleaning off tables dropped the nasty rag on the floor and put it back in the bucket to clean tables with again. We left with food on the table. Would not recommend. I really enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak from here. I was a little worried it was going to be piled with green bell peppers but to my delight it was actually chopped up orange and yellow one!! Yay! We were visiting the area from halfway across the country and found this place, and it is appropriately named! Fantastic food and great service. Not being familiar with many foods in this area, I asked what some were; they respectfully described them, and I was thrilled. I recommend the ochra, the catfish, the velvet cake, and the "filly." The cook even comes out to talk with the patrons. If I ever come through Denison again, I will definitely return to the Right Spot! read more

This is hands down my favorite burger and tots in Denison. If you want local, they're going to take the best care of you. It's right up there with another local favorite in MG's. Both of these places have amazing service, but I think the Right Spot has slightly better burgers. I frequently order take out, and will continue coming here.
