It has been a minute. I was hoping to try something new and guess what? There was a new thing on the menu. It was called "The Schnitzel Bro," a chicken fried steak sandwich. Manna from Heaven, Bro, more like it. The classic chicken fried steak sandwich of Del Rancho fame in the Oklahoma City area needs tomatoes, lettuce and mayonnaise or mayo based sauce.....this version from Mudbones was every bit as good as Del Rancho. The folks at Mudbones must have known of our most recent German travels......because.....SCHNITZEL BRO!?!? Service from Big Friendly was just as friendly as always!!!! Was in the area and looking for a lunch spot when Muddbones popped up as a highly recommended burger joint - and the glowing reviews convinced me to give it a shot. Our order was taken by one of the founders, Kyle, whose quick wit and humor made an immediate impression. As we waited in line, we got to watch the burgers being made - a nice touch that builds up the anticipation. I went all in and ordered the Angry Opossum - a beast of a burger with double meat, double pepper jack cheese, bacon, grilled onions and peppers cooked in their smoky jalapeño sauce, all topped with their newest 6 PM sauce. It was phenomenal!!! Messy, flavorful, and hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The messy table was a badge of honor. Pro tip: Don't skip the Burger Magic spice. Sprinkle it generously on both your fries and burger, it elevates everything. The restaurant is conveniently located off State Hwy 121 N with ample parking. The ambiance is divey in the best possible way - walls decked out with awards and accolades that tell the story of its burger legend status. There's outdoor seating available, and the retro video game machines double as quirky seating areas. It's clear that Muddbones is beloved by locals - the vibe is warm, welcoming, and has that family-run charm. Will I return? Absolutely. The ambiance is so cool, I love sitting in a different spot each time to be able to take in all the cool collections on the walls. We 100% recommend stopping here to eat. Best burgers! The burgers were so good, the fries were amazing and my picky kids were very happy with the grilled cheese and chicken strips. Husband LOVED the rattlesnake eggs. Everything was excellent. The staff was welcoming and you felt like this was exactly where you were meant to eat today. Where do I start.. just wow. Best customer service I've had in awhile. We got the double burgers with everything on it, bacon, onions, cheese, tomato, lettuce and you can't forget the pickles. The burger meat had incredible flavor you can still taste under all the toppings! Tried some chicken tenders and they were so juicy! We drove from Prosper 1hr just to try the burgers and it did not disappoint! Not only are the burgers amazing but the sauces they have are over the top outstanding! Smoked Jalapeño sauce was amazing. I would say everything is a slightly on the salty side but I loved it! Definitely worth the drive from North Dallas if you want unique and tasty burger! Don't forget to try all the sauces. read more

If you get one of the Founders talking, he'll tell you that the reason for their success is hard work and Jesus. Those things may be true, but the burgers are absolute FIRE! The steamed bun, the melted cheese, & the expertly-smashed patty all add up to burger perfection! There are now counter-height tables/chairs inside and a beautiful outdoor patio for seating. They've added some arcade games inside. I wish there was a drive through, although you can call ahead. The Staff are very focused on making sure each Customer feels valued. Our Community is better for Muddbones being here! The parking lot is gravel, so those with walkers and such please be careful. read more

We were excited to try Muddbones based on the reviews and actually drove 10 miles out of our way to do so. But we were not impressed. Maybe on off day??The burger was okay, but not great. The fries - which we paid additional for, were not crispy and were cold. As we looked around, we saw that the fries given to other patrons were also a pale white. And I don't really understand why we are prompted to tip - we stand in line to order, get our on drink, come get our own food. read more

Nice stop for a good burger if you're between Paris and Dallas. Dog friendly outside seating that is kept clean. Burgers are really good, better yet not the typical greasy fries! We moved to the Bonham area a little over a year ago and Muddbones is one of our #1 favorite restaurants. The food, although typical American grill style food, is always delicious and plentiful. The employees are friendly and patient. There has never been an issue customizing the standard menu offerings to suit your individual tastes and although not "fast" service, it is quick enough to ensure your order is cooked to perfection. Muddbones is not a large restaurant, but there is outdoor covered seating available. Everyone orders from the counter, but the line moves relatively quickly. Prices are comparable to other American grill restaurants, but it's the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff that keeps bringing us back. read more

I ordered a grilled chicken salad at a hamburger joint. Surrounded by the smell of hamburgers was killing me! The smell was awesome. I did notice I was the only one eating salad :( My salad was fresh and crisp. The grilled chicken that topped my salad was moist and tender. They only accept cash, no problem. But I noticed a few people only had debit cards. But, but, but, they conveniently have an ATM inside this small joint? Bless there heart! What a find driving through Bonham! You could easily drive right by it, the burger joint is in a red shed-looking building off of the highway. When I showed up for lunch, there was a line already 8 folks deep... Many locals, which says a lot! The burger was unbelievable... Went with the Double Sriracha Bacon Cheddar burger, all the way.
