First time eating here. And it was wise choice. Met a couple at the entrance that said they eat here Every Sunday! Once inside it was apparent why. Every one was so happy and conversing at each table. As the orders arrived all around us , you could see the pleasure and anticipation on their faces. We saw several dishes that made it easy to make our menu selections. Our waitress guided us to spectacular choices. Started with chips and hot sauce. 7 layer dip appetizer was mouthwatering Veggie Quesadillas as main course Chicken Quesadillas too. Chicken Fried Steak with French fries and a side salad was exceptional. One anomaly is they don't have mashed potatoes!!! Weird They do offer a baked potato. Our waitress was so caring, knowledgeable, and talented. The atmosphere and vibe is everything you could hope for in a restaurant like this. One guy next to us eats here several times a week. Next visit will include one of their famous club sandwiches and a classic burger. Grilled Fish Fillets: $16.95 Super flavorful white fish fillets in a herbed butter sauce - flakey and tender. A huge amount of fries and buttered toast on the side, a bonus: grilled lemon. Salad also included. Chicken Fried Steak: $13.95 Chicken fried steak smothered in country gravy, side of fries and buttered toast and a salad. The highlight was the margaritas - SO GOOD. Visited some friends and this is where they chose to meet for lunch. The menu is a combination of sandwiches, burgers and Mexican food. The vibe is rustic with a bit of sports bar mixed in. We started with 7 layer dip, it was pretty good but not a fan of the salsa, it's VERY sweet. The house specialty margarita was really good (cannot remember the actually name- sorry)! We split nachos and wings, the wings were larger than what you typically find in a restaurant. We got fajita beef on the nachos and it was seasoned really well. A local icon. Great atmosphere and excellent staff! The food comes out hot and delicious. We love the burgers, fries, fried jalapeños, perfect ranch dressing, and the tacos. There's a vibe about this place that's hard to describe. Reminds me of a ski resort in Colorado. Is it the red and white checkered table clothes? The raw wood? Maybe it's the low ceilings. Somehow it works. I wish the view out those giant back windows was a view of a mountain stream and pine trees. Ha. That's what I expect to see. Anyways. Stop in and decide for yourself. Passing through Sherman and found this place on YELP. We got there right at noon and it was nearly full. It's like an old diner....in a good way. Pub grub, burgers, etc. We split a CFS, which was good. The French fries are fresh cut and quite good. I'm sure it's a local favorite, and I can see why. read more

A Sherman staple. The Dennyrita is an extra strong margarita named after one of the owners -- more than 3 & you'll prob need a designated driver (#worthit). They have off menu items that you should know about: beef enchiladas are my go to! An on menu item favorite is the Turkey Tacos -- so tasty!!! My teenage son devours the nachos AND the wings. Always packed, so be sure you get there early or don't mind waiting. Outside on the patio is our favorite when the weather is nice. (So in Texas that is the two weeks we call Fall in October and the two weeks we call Spring that happened sometime between March and May but not necessarily consecutively.) read more

We stopped here for lunch about 11:30, good thing because by 12 the place was full! Husband ordered chicken fried steak and as he puts it "it's the real deal" no processed meat Patty! I got the club sandwich which was one of the best clubs I have eaten. No processed thin sliced meat here. The ham and Turkey were carved thick slices with Amazing flavor. Enjoyed the French fries which were well seasoned. Being so busy you would think service would be slower, but our server was on it we lacked for nothing and all the staff looked to be on warp speed! When I first moved to Sherman in 2000, I worked at the midway mall at VS for several years. The other ladies and I would stop in quite regularly after shifts. Since about 2015, I'd probably had only been here once or twice. Well, my little sister came in to visit from NYC, and I really wanted to get her out of the house and introduce her to a few of my Texas friends. First, of all it took me forever to think of a place to go where we could have some good drinks and decent food. The Sherman/Denison options are so slim! It's ridiculous. Any whooo- the four us get to city limits during the Texas VS Alabama football game. Due to the large crowd because of the game, we first decided to sit outside. We had a margarita and chips and queso, as the temperature rose we asked our friendly waitress if we could cash out and possibly get a table inside. Since the football game was nearing towards the 3rd quarter some people were clearing out and more inside tables were available. The time is now, approximately 3:00pm, Saturday. We are now settled in, placing our meal orders and other margaritas. The place is VERY lively. Mind you, the Texas game is in full swing. Our waitress brings us our meals, which everyone begins to enjoy. Soon after, the waitress comes back over to our table and informs us- that we are too loud, and everyone is complaining about us. I immediately survey my surroundings. It is at this point, I realize the only difference between my table and the other patrons was, the table were I sat, Sat the only 3 African American people in the restaurant, I'm being racially profiled!!!!!! I asked for a to go box, and my ticket and to speak to the manger, We wrapped our stuff up, and the manager comes over and gives some silly excuse, that the table who complained was gone.... So my thought was- if the table who complained is gone, why bother us with the complaint? The place was so loud, I couldn't even hear her excuses. Everyone is the place was loud! This was during a Texas football game, on a Saturday afternoon! In closing, city limits will never get a dime of my money. I will post this review and tell every person, I know to avoid this place. If I have to go to 54th street grill in McKinney every weekend, I will. I'm so happy Sherman is growing. I can't wait for more businesses to open in Sherman/Denison so this good ol boy sh*t hole can go outta business! read more
