Great street tacos ! Chips and salsa good, enchiladas good, service is good. Cold beer and good Margaritas.

Went on a lunch date with the girls. The margaritas are large and quite good, along with the salsa they bring to the table. You can even request a spicy salsa, which packs quite a punch. As for the food, it was questionable. They were running two specials on the day we went, and they were out of both. My meal was subpar at best, the rice was salty, and the protein was bland. I was disappointed, as we are constantly searching for a good Mexican meal around us. Maybe next time will be better. read more

This used to be the best restaurant in town. Ever since they remodeled a few months ago, everything's gone down. The food comes so fast you know they just put it in the microwave and it taste like it. Instead of plates, they serve you in a basket with a piece of foil on it. The service is horrible. Our motorcycle club visits Don Toro's in Bonham about 3 times a year. Today's visit was a surprise, and not a good one. We were met with friendly faces and the service was good. But we've got to agree with several of the more current assessments. The menu has changed for the worst. It reads more like a fast-food approach. The quantity, and preparation was much less than expected. There was only a small amount of meat served over a lot of rice, and it was all barely warm; and at a cost of $18. We dined in the upstairs section of the restaurant. It was big enough to handle the 16 of us, but it felt like dinning in an empty warehouse. Not an atmosphere for enjoyable dinning. I have been here over 20 times. The inside has improved since opening but I wouldn't eat upstairs. It's like eating in an empty cafeteria. They recently got a new menu, but it's hard to tell the prices. It's pretty clean. The service and food are ok. Servers lack eye contact. One of the TVs was stuck on an infomercial for a year. The other TVs cannot play live TV. Never mind if you want to watch any sort of sport. My main issue is the lack of music. It's just weird. Could you play Mexican music since we are in a Mexican restaurant? When I ask it's an ordeal with lots of excuses and confusion. We have been there with RuPaul drag show, Toy Story, crime shows. I am tired on complaining. We have finally had it and won't return. We rarely eat out will go elsewhere. read more

I love this place! My friends and I occasionally come here for lunch, and we are always impressed! My favorite meal to get is their stuffed avocado, they have the option of having either chicken or steak and I always get both. I've also had their Mexican taco plate as well as the "Mexican flag" enchiladas- and I totrecommend them both as well. The service is always great and the staff are very friendly and efficient, they do get pretty busy occasionally but I've never had a bad experience here. The ambiance is very welcoming and casual, and always clean! We love this place and recommend to everyone!!! read more

We just went here on a whim. Wow, what a great dinner. I can't remember the name of what I got, but it was one of their specialties with steak. It was fantastic. My wife got a stuffed avocado with chicken. It was more like a buried avocado. It was equally delicious. The service was excellent and the restaurant is small but very nicely decorated. We found that most of the food was great. Quality and taste both very good. The only menu item we did not like was the fish tacos. The menus stated it is grilled fish. There are no pieces of fish, the fish is actually pulverized. Like granulated fish?? I've never seen that before and it was basically tasteless. I think they may want to change the menu to better reflect the item. Better yet use actual pieces of grilled fish. read more

Food here is worse than Dollar Tree frozen food. I added the sour cream to try and mask the flavor and saltiness. I would not recommend this place to anyone! The food was good. However, my husband has celiacs and can't take the smallest amount of flour. His first bite he had an immediate reaction. Our waitress wasn't rude, but she wasn't polite either. We both order margarita on the rocks. His without salt, mine with salt. They both came without salt. And delivered or maybe dumped on our table without one word. Our waitress was obviously not a people person and hasn't learned the art of courtesy. Even paying her for our meal seemed to be a chore and she didn't offer a receipt. This was our 39th anniversary that we were trying to celebrate. We won't be going back. read more

After calling for an hour we finally got our order placed. 20 minutes later picking up the food the waiter "Patty" told me our food cost and be sure to tip. When I got home and unpacked my family's order I noticed the lack of meat in a double combo fajita for 2. I immediately called to rectify this situation and asked for them to make it right: charge me a single or make more meat. They refused any avenue to customer satisfaction and told me I was out of luck. read more

This place is bad all together. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Starting from the booths falling apart and hitting the person behind you, if you lean back at all. The food is terrible, and way overpriced. The water doesn't taste right, there's hair in the food. The food is fake, chicken came from a can. Cheese in the quesadilla is the crappy American single slice cheese. Beans have no flavor, yes very watery. The people are rude and don't check on you. The manager is very rude and won't even answer a simple question. The food was so bad, I tried to get it taken off the bill.. the manager made a rude comment to me then refused to make eye contact or talk to us again. We still had to pay for the food we didn't eat at all. Manager should be fired, and given a health inspection. Very rude and unprofessional! Don't go here!
