11am on a Sun and the place was full with a small wait. (Tip; they do take reservations) Good friendly service. My water never went empty and that simple thing is often overlooked. Classic eggs Benedict and Ruben Sandwich were our main meal. Benedict was standard and came with fresh fruit in a bowl/ramekin.Both muffin and Canadian bacon were noted as a "bit thin" and the flavor was ok. No pop..a 7 of 10. Ruben came with house chips. It was tasty and hit all the right notes. The only critique/observation is that it was a bit thin on meat when comparing it to the many others I've had. Just not as hearty in size. A boutique sized version that is on point with flavor. A 8.5 to 9 of 10. House chips were good and did not lack crunch like some places can. A coffee flavor Creme Brulee to end. Emily, I only leave honest reviews and I must say your place is very clean and immaculate. It is definitely should be rated as a 4.5/5 restaurant. For breakfast I was disappointed on the menu. It does show 3-egg omelet and for the size of my omelet, I felt it did not even come close to a 3-egg omelet. Your prices are a expensive. I understand you have good quality food but when a side waffle costs $8 bucks come on, Your server was good, very polite and well-mannered. A lot of standing around and goose playing with the server's in the back because they were bored looking for something to do. Overall experience I have to give you a 3-star. 8.00 for a waffle really discourages me breakfast for right at 50.00 bucks with a good tip to our waiter - I wish you the best of luck but I wont be back. read more

The food here is top notch. Our server was amazing and kept up with us, casually, not in an annoying way. We sat by the window which was mirrored on the street side so people watching was fun. Very nice ambiance. Can't wait to try their new restaurant that opens soon. If you're vegan, get the Cauliflower Steak. For a breakfast place I felt it needs a little more, at least for me who likes the basics of biscuits, gravy, grits, and hash browns. We shared the waffle and the classic breakfast. My first bite of the waffle brought the thought of cornbread to mind. Not mealy ... just the flavor. It was very thick but dry like old pancakes. The bacon was on point for great tasting and crispy! What an amazing find! Everything was great, from the service, the food, & to the atmosphere. Came here after hiking Eisenhower State Park with a large group. The manager was so friendly & helpful to make a reservation throughout the entire experience. I don't know which was better, the food or the service! They were both great, all of the staff helped out, but Jesus was our server and he always made sure we had everything we needed. Another shining star, the food, it was great and not overpriced like other local spots. Everyone loved their entrees. I had the shrimp & grits and I licked the plate clean . There are no words that are sufficient. This place is amazing. The vibe is small town swanky where you'd be comfortable dressed up or stopping in after running your errands downtown. Decor is thoughtful and upscale. The staff are incredibly nice and hopeful and make it a wonderful experience. The food y'all the food. So much flavor and the plating makes you feel very 5 star. My husband had the Grayson Glow and I had the Old Fashioned... The Grayson Glow was the winner! For dinner my husband ordered the Chicken fried Chicken and green beans... it was delicious!!! Great little find of a restaurant in downtown Denison. The food was great and service was excellent. Came here for breakfast and left full and happy! I had the chilaquiles with green sauce and a pancake. My friend had the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast although they were able to sub an English muffin for the toast. Everything was so beautifully made!! The staff are friendly and the environment is super cozy. Between our family, we had the turkey sandwich (amazing) and the breakfast sandwich (even better). My wife and I have been wanting to try this restaurant since we heard about it opening 4 weeks ago. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very attentive to our needs. It was about 80% full of diners at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday...great sign that this restaurant and staff are doing something right! Diners were a nice blend of families, mid-30s/40s and seniors. Not too loud with soft music in the background. The ambience and remodeling they did on this old building in downtown Denison was phenomenal! They framed 3 sections of the original stone walls and then added loop lighting...beautiful use of existing materials. Additionally they found a large sliding fire door in the attic and added that as a unique decorative piece to one of the walls. The menu had a nice variety of options to choose from. We started with guacamole which was the best we have had in the Denison-Sherman area! My wife had the chicken enchiladas with rice and awesome black beans. As usual she picked the best entree as she let me sample hers. I will select this for our next visit! My chicken fried chicken was moist, tender and very flavorful. The red skin mashed potatoes were excellent along seasoned (just the right amount of garlic) string green beans. We finished off this fantastic meal with red velvet cake that was very tasty. It was an excellent experience and we will certainly be returning. On our way out we passed another couple going in and we asked if it was their first time. They replied no that it was their 6th time dining here! That speaks volumes that the folks at Emily's Kitchen are doing it right and building a strong and loyal customer base! read more

We have been here a few times to experience brunch, lunch and dinner, and have not been disappointed. It's true the place can get loud when there's lots of people, but service is outstanding and the food is worth it! We've tried many menu items, and I can easily say the chilaquiles will keep me coming back. The red sauce is tasty with no overpowering heat, yummy, and eggs were perfectly cooked. We shared roasted beets, delicious, and she had roasted cauliflower that she let me try along with the asparagus and butternut squash. Very fresh, nice crunch, excellent seasoning. First impressions are everything for me- so when my husband and I walked in, we had to question whether or not we were in a dance bar as loud as the music was blaring, loud conversations among the tables just so they could hear one another. When asked about recommended specialty drinks, he was forthcoming in letting us know that the margarita was a house favorite and very popular- so I went with trying it, and it did NOT disappoint! Collin provided solid food recommendations, which also did not disappoint- he really DID turn this first time experience around for us! (Paper straw alert- like any other paper straws, it will alter the taste of your beverage, so we ditched them and I used a stirring stick instead- which allowed me to fully enjoy the flavor of the margarita a lot more!!) Appietizer : "queso quemado "- it's more of a flameado style, just without the flame. It was tasty, but you have to enjoy it rather quickly! For dinner I went with the shrimp and grits, and enjoyed the grits made with Gouda cheese, and served with a Chipotle sauce- yum!! From the server in the back picking her teeth (really going at it), to the teenager at the front who greeted us with a cloud of gloom, to our server who went and had a leisurely 10 minute conversation with a patron before turning in our order, they all brought down the vibe and expectations. Just had dinner at Emily's Kitchen for the first time. If I didn't live in Grapevine, I would eat here at least once a week. The food and service were outstanding!!! My date and I shared most of our plates. The chicken soup and the butternut squash soup were both some of the best I have ever had. And the fajita tacos were fabulous. The meat was tender and tasty and the beans, with a brisket kicker, was all to die for. We topped it off with the chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream that was so rich and good we could not finish it. And a shout out to Andy who waited on us. Seating was very quick about 5 minutes. Place is seasonally decorated nicely. The menu is breakfast or lunch type items only. Place is very noisy especially for those that have hearing difficulties. Wait staff was very friendly except when we started getting close to being done and still had food on our plates people kept coming by like 4 times and just reached over to get our plates. I appreciate wanting to clear the plates but there was still food on them and they did not ask us just tried to grab the plates. The turkey pot pie soup was great but the biscuit on top was like freeze dried candy and just crumbled not in a good way. I wish it was more like a traditional biscuit since you could literally just pick it up as it was sat on top of the nice thick creamy soup. I asked for a half Ruben dry with no butter, oil, grease, or mayo with these specific instructions and it was still greasy. I only ate the insides which were tasty. The chips were stay and had no flavor. The breakfast sandwich was unique and the fruit it came with was good. The roast beef was good. It comes with sweet potato fries which we changed to regular fries and got charged $1 but was not informed until we got our bill. The bill also had a surcharge for using a credit card. According to Texas Business & Commerce Code § 604A.0021 this is illegal. Food is overpriced for the portion and taste. Waitress just wanted my card without giving me my bill to review. When I asked to see the bill she acted like it was an inconvenience due to it being digital and she was trying to take other tables orders using the same device that my bill was on. I have been here many times with family and friends and the food and service have always been fantastic. The wait can be long if you're late for prime dining hours so you make the choice. The last time I went was several months ago. I sat down, ordered breakfast, and went to the restroom to wash my hands. While waiting for the restroom I heard the toilet flush and the door immediately open with one of the kitchen staff coming out. Never once did I hear the sink and there couldn't have been enough time for the employee to wash his hands. I got back to my table and informed my server that I lost my appetite and left. This incident is why I haven't and do not plan to return and the reason for the sub par review. I don't know how they fix this, but I highly encourage them to address this very soon as it will happen again. read more

We had the pleasure of hosting a corporate event at Emily's kitchen and could not be more pleased. The pre-event discussions were very clear and questions were promptly returned, and we arrived on the evening of the event to a long table for 20+ people, fantastic food and superb bespoke cocktails. There was four of us. We went in and were seated at 3:58. The hostess apparently gave us the wrong menus (they must have different menus for different times or days, not sure). Finally someone acknowledged us at 4:06. I ordered a dirty martini, two drinks that were a special and water. It took 20 min to get them, in which we saw the server spill half my martini but proceeded to bring it to the table. I said something and she said well i will make you another one, you can keep this one. I said ok thank you. The drink was absolutely disgusting! A Dirty martinis is my drink and ive neved in my entire life tasted one that nasty. I didnt say anything, until wr got our calamari. The orange sauce on top of the calamari was gross and the red sauce in the middle of the calamari was gross too. As we ate half of it, a hair was cooked in my food, which it happens. The manager apologized and took it off the bill. She asked if we wanted a new one and we declined. My cauliflower steak meal was cold, not even lukewarm, but it was tasty. The chicken fried chickens gravy was disgusting and had a sour like taste. The server replaced it with chicken tenders. The french dip was good. The fish was lukewarm. The soup was amazing! The fries were good. The server apologized and said everything that could go wrong went wrong at our table. They charge a fee for credit card processing, which ive not seen in a cafe before.
