We stopped in on a week day for a late lunch. They have tons of seating and the restaurant is spacious. There's lots of natural light from all the windows and high ceilings. We sat at a table near the bar and could see a few tvs from our vantage point. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We tried two local beers and both were good. I ordered the buffalo chicken sliders and they were delicious! I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a little smaller and it was the perfect amount. My partner had one and he liked them too. This is a really cool venue. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was good. Our group started with an order of the BBQ porky egg rolls (very tasty and easily enough for 4-6 for an appetizer). Drinks were good and they have a great hard cider selection. The fried fish was really tasty but unfortunately not as crispy as we prefer. The Big Lebowski waffle sandwich was a hit but way too much food for one person. The TX Benny was a great concept and good flavor but needed more Cajun gravy and the egg was overcooked (not runny). The Dirty Pig was also delicious and oversized. I'd return. Stopped in for a late lunch. There was plenty of open seating and were able to order right away. They let us sample some of the draft beers to help decide what we wanted, I chose the Say When Oatmeal Blonde. For lunch I ordered the quesadilla burger, it was a fun new way to have a burger with queso on the side for dipping. It was a great greasy burger that hit the spot. I had ordered the side of sweet potato fries, they were perfectly crispy with salt and pepper seasoning. They offer a honey mayo dipping sauce which pairs nicely with the sweet potato fries! Stopped in the old Iron Post in Sherman to eat lunch today. I had a salad and my husband had the wings. I have to say the salad was delicious and the ranch dressing that came with it was wonderful. My husband had the wings and said they were very good also. The service was great. The guy who waited on us was very nice and you could tell he was a very caring person. We ate there for lunch over a month ago and had salads. The food and service were very good . We recently went back for dinner and ordered the two Mahi dinners. Both were very disappointing. The fried dish was reminiscent of over cooked frozen fish sticks and the blackened Mahi was over cooked and tough. The mushroom appetizer was excellent. It is a bar environment with food that is definitely way above bar quality. The drinks were great. The service was great! If you haven't had a chance to try this little place, make it a priority. Fantastic location in a historic building filled with charm! Nick was a fantastic server and bartender. We made a special trip back to this great bar-restaurant after a stellar experience but were sadly met by tremendously simplified menu. The monkey balls (stuffed and fried mushrooms), fried mozzarella, onion rings, jalapeño poppers, and fish n chips.... All gone! our server, Nick, was great... but we're not coming back for the menu that's left ...we had nachos and two types of salads. They were good, but not out of the ordinary. There aren't many restaurants in Sherman with vegan or good veggie options, so finding this place and being pleasantly surprised by the menu made me so happy. My amazing waiter even mentioned that I could make recommendations for possible new options, which truly made my day. I realized I'd been missing out by assuming there wasn't anything vegan on the menu. They even have a cauliflower steak dish that I'm saving for a date night with my husband. I read the reviews before visiting and I was skeptical on trying this place. We decided to go since we were so close to it and watch the Super Bowl. First we ordered beer on tap and to my surprise it was not bitter not sweet it was a frosty treat. Beer was so cold as it should be. Second we ordered wings 12 for $15 and they were clocked perfect. We passed this restaurant several times but chose to give it a try for dinner tonight. Upon entrance there's a sign that says seat yourself and a server came over right away. Chance was a great server and made really good entree suggestions. I had the blu and black burger and requested it well done with extra blu cheese crumbles. It was delicious! Only regret was not getting trying a Wednesday $2 margaritas but I will next time! There is plenty of space to sit at the bar, tables inside and outdoors on the patio. Have been here several times now and ready to give an overall review. Enjoyable atmosphere in a historic downtown building with an outdoor patio on the square. Good selection of brews, ciders & wine. Large bar area surrounded by table dining. The food that I have had there is good, wings (great), quesadillas, mozzarella bites (yummy). Also have healthier options. The wait staff is mediocre at best. Very solemn faced and unengaged. Every time I've been here it's the same bland service. Seems like they are just going through the motions to get through the shift, collect their pay and go home.
