(Some) great bartenders. Been a patron for a year and they've had issues with managment treating the bar like a frat house. New managment is no different. They abide by their own rules. Visit Cellarman's across the street instead. Better food and cheaper drinks. I did the math. Take it from a local who was blindsided by a new hire on a power trip and management that felt they benefited from a low education new staff that thought they run the show. She doesnt even have the title of bartender. Do yourself a favor and leave Sherman as soon as possible. I recommend Endzone in Mckinney, TX. Feel free to pursure me for any more questions or proof. I've been in the area longer than they think...

Homemade chips and salsa I added ranch. captain and Coke

Came a few weeks ago for their taco Tuesday. I was dismayed to hear that the only options were chicken or beef. The man getting my tables drinks over heard me say that I'm vegetarian, and came back after a few minutes saying that he asked, and they could make them with mushrooms if I wanted. At first I was blown away by the service, but after the tacos came I was really blown away by the sauce. Been back every week since.

Jake the owner throwing together his AMAZING TACOS! I'm not kidding when I say... EPIC FOOD!

Big comfy chairs and couches, and plenty of space at the bar to sit too. Big selection of cigars, unfortunately they were waiting on a restock when we visited but that's a great excuse to have to make a return visit lol. The bartender Abby was so sweet and helpful. We will be back soon!

What really stood out was their outstanding selection of premium whiskeys and cigars -- truly curated and high quality. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help pair the perfect drink and cigar combination. Their walk-in humidor is impressive, and the fact that they host regular events (Trivia Night, Poker Night, Cigar Club, etc.) gives the place a strong sense of community and personality. ashandbarreltx.com I also appreciate that they offer a VIP membership with benefits like discounted prices, locker storage for your favorite cigars, and entry into special raffles -- a nice touch for regulars. ashandbarreltx.com If you're looking for a refined yet approachable lounge to enjoy premium cigars and whiskeys (or just a relaxing evening), Ash & Barrel is absolutely worth a visit. I'll certainly be going back.

The entry is as though it's a restaurant, primarily, but to me I was still visiting a brewery regardless. Beer menu had a variety yet was too minimalist in info. Zero descriptions. (Pic) Tried Sherman Bock, Kilt Switch and Dubai Chocolate Stout. Sherman Bock was my fellow beer drinkers choice. A solid bock, easy drinking type for a broad section of people. Kilt Switch is a Wee Heavy Scotch Ale that is hidden and buried in the menu simply under Ambers. WhatTF?! It's a 2 time GABF medal winner (2025 Silver 2018 Bronze) and the taste of match! Why not highlight it!? 903? Easy drinking, which is dangerous at 10.5%, and one not to pass up if you like Scotch Ales. Dubai Chocolate Stout 9%. As pics show, zero description of beer or ingredients are offered. It was a good "special" Stout style. Bit sweet to me and reminiscent of winter choco/fruit stouts. Good in its category. Just not my preferred style. Side note: Menu has another unlabled GABF medal winner under stouts but no visitor would know unless they ask a lot of questions or are a beer nerd (me?).

A first rate Indian restaurant…read more They call themselves Nepali. And the entrepreneurs may easily be Nepali. In the US, calling yourself a Nepali restaurant means taking a standard North Indian menu and adding momo and some Chinese dishes. In Nepal, they eat a lot more than momo. Mountainous regions in poor countries often use forms of protein that Americans don't particularly care for. (Fill in the blanks yourself on this one.) Doing that in the U.S. would be commercial suicide. At one time, Mount Everest had goat intestine on the menu. Goat intestine is relatively un-shocking given other items that Nepalis hunt or butcher and eat. The goat intestines did not sell well and had to be removed from the menu. So mostly what you get here is a plain old North Indian restaurant. Fortunately, Mount Everest is a very good plain old North Indian restaurant. * * * The headline story here is spice. A. Lots of it. B. Not your standard Anglo-Indian curry house spice mixes. I ordered my eggplant with a heat of 4. A heat of 5 is their !!NUCLEAR!! option. 4 is their "Commands Respect- Listen to Me Baby" level. Mount Everest's 4 is most other Indians restaurants 38. Steam came out of ears. Steam came out of eyes. I was amazed my metal container was able to hold that dish. I set a Grayson County speed record for most Naan consumed in the shortest amount of time ... As vast amounts of naan were stuffed into my flaming mouth to lower the temperature. * * * I LOVED IT. I WOULD DO THAT AGAIN IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. * * * If molten lava isn't your thing Ordering your food with a heat of 0 or 1 Will give you a nice lovely very mild dish. Mount Everest caters to all tastes. * * * The spicing here is unusual. This particularly shows up in the salty lassis. I couldn't tell you what the flavor combo was. But it was intriguing and wonderful. That is another dish I would order in a New York minute. * * * Speaking of non-New-York topics, Mount Everest does its best to fit into a Texas-Oklahoma aesthetic. There is a pool table. For all I know, Texoma is full of Indian restaurants with pool tables. But that was the first time, I had ever seen such a thing. They have country-western style decoration, and guitars on the walls to help set a mood. They serve cold beer. I am not used to Texas Ice Houses that also serve Tikka Masala and Aloo Chana. But this is a concept I could definitely learn to like. * * * Overall, this is a first rate establishment. And if you want enough inner fire to be able to climb the Himalayas without wearing a parka, Order any dish with a heat of 5. The snow will melt on either side of you as you pass.
