Chicken Fried Steak We had a friend recommend this place on a trip from Dallas to Tulsa. Sadly, we were disappointed. The service was ok, but the food wasn't. I got the CFS w/Mac N Cheese. When it arrived the gravy was broke and the mac n cheese was totally cold. Normally I can get past broken gravy but they didn't bother to cook off the flour taste so it just tasted of uncooked greasy flour. The CFS had a good seasoning so I just scrapped off the gravy and ate some of it. We sent the Mac n Cheese back just to be reheated but it didn't come back until our ticket was delivered and it was practically boiling so I only got about two bites before we had paid and left. We both got a side salad and were pleased with it. Their dressing was good but in my salad the only piece of iceberg lettuce was the size of the bowl. It just feels like the cook(s) are short staffed or just lazy because all of the food had potential if they just bothered to take a little more care with it. The cook had to have known the gravy was broke as I could tell the second it was sat down in front of me. There was also a film of coagulated/dried cheese on top of my first Mac n cheese. Neither of these things should have gotten past a cook who gave any care to their work. I can't even say it was because they were rushed because the place was practically empty. Maybe a half dozen people besides my husband and myself. I asked my husband about the burger and he said it too was either cooked by someone lazy or someone who didn't give a *bleep* about producing quality food. Again, it's a shame as there was a lot of potential but they need to get a cook who takes pride in their job before they are put out of business. Love this place! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The bartender took time to help me find a beer I loved which was great. Speaking of bartenders, Nick was amazing. He was patient and helpful and a smiling face. The Texas cheese steak is amazing and I can't even begin to say how amazing their stuffed pepper wrapped in bacon are! Update: I took my mom here and has the money balls for the first time and they were AMAZING! They are mushroom caps with cream cheese and then the whole thing is deep fried. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The place is full of old solid wood floors and beautiful crown molding... Service was spot on. We had fish and chips, an appetizer that I believe they called monkey balls lol and goodness were they great I didn't even ask what I was in them! We are in town working for a week and no one wants to cook. We've been trying multiple local joints and tonight was OIP. Scotch eggs, stuffed mushrooms, egg rolls, fish and chips. The good Fish was pretty standard, tarter sauce was good, fries fine The great Best scotch egg we've had (not connoisseurs but fans) Freshly stuffed and fried mushrooms THE EGG ROLLS - so good. I hate to bad mouth this restaurant, because the food is pretty good except I would never order the Golden battered Shrimp, what a joke this is. Tues. night with some friends I ordered the Shrimp. It looked like cocktail shrimp covered in batter. So very small and the batter would fall off after each bite. It was a soggy piece of little shrimp. At a cost of $14.00. It would be a joke at long johns silvers. I told the waitress that it looked ridiculous when she brought it to the table. It was not her fault and she is an excellent waitress. But the management could go to Sams and buy much better shrimp. I have bought Shrimp many times in Galveston Texas from Shrimp Company's and never seen such small shrimp. It wasn't pop corn shrimp, but small and not cooked properly. The service and drinks are good. And the Bacon wrapped wings are great. Beware of the crappie shrimp. read more

The interior of the place is dynamic and there were a mix of genres like I haven't seen. It was kid friendly but I wouldn't have expected that from looking at the outside. It's hard to tell what kind of place it is looking at it from the outside. It was like a combination of the cotton patch restaurant with an old time saloon with a modern sports bar.
