Traci and I enjoying the Terrace at The Library Grill. It's a twin wine weekend!
Staci C.

My twin sister and I had an hour to kill before heading to Grayson College for a performance my niece was a part of, "Taming the Shrew". We walked out back to the terrace and ordered a glass of wine each. Lauren was a fantastic bartender and very friendly. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay very long but the atmosphere on the terrace and the wait staff was wonderful! Thank you so much! Next time we are back in town, we will come for dinner.

Great menu and fairly busy in the middle of week. Old home turned into a restaurant gives quaint vibes. Staff is very friendly. A tad pricey but doesn't disappoint. Went here for a first date and definitely recommend.

What a gem hidden away near Sherman! We live in Melissa and this was such a great find for a date night. Especially not having to drive to Dallas or Plano. My friend gifted me a gift card here for my birthday and well I took the opportunity to bring my husband here for his birthday. Pulling up to this place, the outside does not match the food! Hahaha! I wasn't expecting to be so impressed with the food. Inside it's super retro in a sense and very intimate. Service was really great; our waitress was wonderful giving great recommendations. We ordered all six of the appetizers and they were all really amazing. The tuna poke and the steak crostinis were my absolute favorite. The tuna had great flavor and the combination from the crunch of the wonton cup and the avocado just married together so nicely. The steak crostinis were again a great combo of texture and taste. Very tasty. The seafood combination was my next favorite. I normally do not like crab cakes (and yes I'm from Louisiana) but these were the best I've ever had. The scallop and shrimp were cooked to perfection and this was altogether a great dish. The fried green tomatoes and the duck meat balls were tied for being my least favorite from the appetizers; but that's not saying they weren't good. The fried tomatoes were cooked perfectly and the sauce given was tasty.... I'm just not normally a fried food eater in general. The duck meatballs had great flavor and were delicious I'm just not a meatball lover. Our meals came with salads which were larger than the normal dinner salad; I got the raspberry vinaigrette that was really nice. I ordered a 8oz beef tenderloin filet medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was sooooo tender. From my husbands opinion mine was much better than the wagyu ribeye. Mine was thicker. The ribeye was still delicious though. I got the miso carrots and the baked potato. It was all so amazing. For dessert we got the cheesecake, bread pudding and the key lime pie. All 5/5 in taste! Again I was really impressed by this place and will definitely add it onto our date night rotation.

Ask the Community - The Library Bar & Grill

Are y'all dog friendly?

They do not have outdoor seating, even though they have an area in the back that is suited for it. Since it's indoor only, I would assume they are not dog friendly. There have never been dogs there when I've gone.

Do you have a corkage policy and if allowed, how much?

Yes there is and I do believe it's $15

The food was even more fantastic than it was before. We started with the buratta which was sooo good. I had the chicken with asparagus and she had the salmon on risotto. I am not normally one to eat salmon but I tried a bite of hers and it was amazing. The chicken was juicy and so good with the garlic sauce. For dessert we had the 3 flight with the lemon Bundt, crème brûlée, and chocolate tart. All three were unbelievable. We will be back many times.

I visited on a Saturday evening for an early dinner with my parents and sister. (Side note for Dallas residents: If you're familiar with the Katy Trail, it's worth the drive to see where it all began. When the Katy railroad tracks were removed in Dallas, the trail was born. While Denison doesn't have a trail today, the original depot remains, and it's a lovely place to explore.) The atmosphere at Stafford House is calm and refined, with deep burgundy tones, and brown leather accents lending it a warm, intimate feel. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. We started with the steak carpaccio appetizer, which was savory and full of flavor. For dinner, the ladies each had the Airline chicken with mushroom risotto, while my father and I ordered the lamb T-bones. I swapped the vegetable medley for sweet potato grits, which were decent but lacked any noticeable sweet potato flavor. Definitely put Stafford House on your must-visit list. It's a beautiful little spot for a quiet, intimate dinner. And don't miss their adjacent bar--it's equally charming and perfect for a pre- or post-dinner cocktai

I really enjoyed the American cuisine here--great food and a nice atmosphere overall…read more I ordered the French onion soup and the Reuben eggrolls. The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! It was definitely hearty, with plenty of onions (which I love). However, it was a bit saltier than I prefer. I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together. They tasted amazing with the spicy Russian dipping sauce (which I appreciated wasn't too spicy). It was such a flavorful and memorable dish! I'm glad I gave it a try.
