Stopped in a recent trip through the area and I was pleasantly surprised by this interesting little place. The food was food, the prices are fair, and the couple who owns it are fun. They used to own and run a place in Colorado and the food shows they have run a restaurant before. I had the chicken yakisoba and it was delicious. I was stationed in South Korea for one year during my Air Force career, and fell in love with Bulgogi while there. We were camping at Bonham State Park, so I decided to give K Garden a try. I'll give the place four stars because what I ordered was tasty. It just wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap, as so many other reviewers did. The best way I can describe this dish, is it is kind of like a Korean taco salad with rice, minus the shell. It had so little bulgogi in it, that they might as well left it out. It also didn't taste like the bulgogi I remember from Korea. If I were to ever go back there, I would order something different. I did order chicken fried rice to take back to my wife at the campground. That was actually very good. read more

Really delicious food, fantastic portions, and superb service. I highly recommend the bulgogi bibimbap, but be cautious of the spice level. My sister, who generally tolerates spice very well, had a hard time with the spicy bibimbap. (No fault of the restaurant, my sister was just overzealous.) This place is in the middle of nowhere but there is ample parking. The owners of the restaurant own the six acres surrounding the place, so you can park anywhere! Speaking of the owners, the owner/waiter was incredibly kind and attentive. This is such a wonderful place and I really hope more people come check it out! read more

Don't be put off by the curb appeal ( or lack there of) as you pull up to what appears to be a home on the side of the county road. It IS actually open and in fact, doubles as a small Korean "market", gift shop featuring pottery and a wonderful collection of classical music records on display !!! This happens to be my kind of favorite local restaurant: pop gladly takes your order, and mom is no doubt in the kitchen cooking up home style and fresh Korean food in NE TEXAS. We both opted for the bimbimbop-- which was rich with tender beef, vegetables and a little rice with a highly addictive sauce. Of course I had to add the traditional fried egg along with a little gokuchang medium hot, and my hubby of course, did none of these. We had the shrimp tempura and of course, the complimentary miso soup to start. It was hot outside and inside, (being early August in Texas), but this spot is just a short drive from Bonham-- definitely worth your while!!! What a wonderful experience & we will definitely be back! Until then, took a pint of homemade kimchi home-- and although it was not spicy, what a treat!!! Delectable!!! read more

I hate to say they aren't good, but they aren't that good. The bibimbap isn't even Bibimbap and made me question if they are truly Korean. Stars are for friendliness and customer service. I love small business, but super unsatisfied with the food. Will get something else and try another stot, but if if you can't make bibimbap right, like are you even Korean, bro? read more

This is a well hidden gem! Located just eight miles north of downtown on 78. I found this place on a FB post and decided to try it. If it is dark, you will likely miss it, so look for the Open sign. I had never had Korean food before and didn't know what to expect. Let me say, it EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS. Hubs and I ordered the appetizer special, which was 2 egg rolls, 2 cheese rangoon, and half order California roll. First, let me say, HANDS DOWN THE BEST egg rolls I have ever had! The California roll was also the best...very fresh ingredients. I also like that they do not coat everything in sesame seeds. For the meal, or should I say for my dinner and next 3 meals, I ordered the spicy shrimp RaMyn (not sure how they spelled it, but basically, it's ramen). I have never understood why people will go to a restaurant and order ramen...now I do. It was soooo delicious! And the portion is huge. I had to box it up to go and will have enough for 3 or 4 more meals. I will tell you, Hubs isn't too keen on off the beaten path restaurants, and it took a lot to convince him to try it, but HE IS SOLD! He raved about everything as well. He basically had nothing left to take home. As no place is perfect, I will say that the sweet tea was less than fresh, but the food was so fresh and delicious that I didn't even care. My husband and I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while... we decided to give it a try this Friday. The menu choices are pretty good for being out of the Metroplex. We decided to have takoyaki (Octopus) which was very good and piping hot (that's how it's served in Japan). We both decided to get Bulgogi Bibimbap. We ordered it spicy and it did not disappoint. Lots of gochujang (Korean spicy pepper) mixed into the rice... the dish was very good and the vegetables in the dish were fresh. The owner and his wife are the waiters / cooks for the restaurant and they are both very nice. The service was fast and prompt. The building is the same structure as the old Lil's Restaurant (prior restaurant in the same location) so if you had been there before you'll recognize some of the decor... the new owners have really cleaned it up a bunch... We will definitely be back and will probably try some of the rolls that they had on the menu next time. Overall great find for a local restaurant... this will save the effort of driving to Denison or into the Metroplex for Korean / Japanese rolls... read more

This is a great little spot off the beaten path. These guys are very friendly and seasoned operators. The food was wonderful, priced well. It's authentic they have a nice atmosphere in the place. They sell some other packaged goods and there's a selection of hand made pottery in the place too. The pottery looks really rustic and I love pottery. read more

Our first time and only time to visit was tonight! We stood at door and waited to be greeted, there was one table of three sitting when we arrived, still it took over five minutes to be seated. Once seated we were left with menus and waited another ten minutes for the man to come back and take just our drink order. We then waited another atleast fifteen minutes for the man to come back and take our order, from a menu that was so crowded was pretty confusing to read. My husband ordered pork fried rice, I ordered a bento box, and we ordered our daughter the only child option which was chicken nuggets and fries. We then waited for another fifteen minutes for our order, all delivered cold, husband's arrived first, in a to go box as well as our daughter's. My order then came another five minutes after that, cold as well. Husband's order was wrong protein. My order had two half dollar size portions of rice with about a teaspoon worth of chewed up steak on top. None of us finished our cold orders. Then we get the sticker shock price of 86 dollars!! Are you kidding!! I do not recommend anyone to visit this place, we decided to try it after reading good reviews online, big mistake!! DO NOT VISIT AND BE ROBBED FROM THIS ESTABKISHMENT, I REPEAT DO NOT VISIT!!!
