Super cute tiny roadside cafe in Decatur. Breakfast biscuits were delicious and fluffy. Their simple breakfast fare was quite fulfilling, service was prompt but the small old-town atmosphere was awesome. Truly enjoyed this spot on our way around Texas! Also: there's a super cute gas station with old fashioned pumps next door perfect for a photo op!! We are headed that way once we're done with our gravy. I see some wholesome pies on the counter over there... but we are too full to try them today- bummer! They have cherry, apple, Pecan, chocolate, coconut, buttermilk and banana pudding!! Pretty good options! ** we found out that this cafe started in 1935 and was part of the tourist main stop in the then main (back then) Meridian Highway! Also a part of the cattle herding Chisholm Trail before then. This is a piece of "Americana" history that can be enjoyed right next to the cafe!! The station is covered in actual Petrified wood!) I added the pictures of the markets so you too can learn something new!

It is definitely a piece of area history. We stopped in because it was so unique. The inside decor is a dinner I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my wife had the club and fries. The food was as down home as it comes, it tasted amazing and cooked prefect. The potion sizes were big and the price is reasonable. I will definitely come back.

I've driven by this a dozen times and never thought twice. Looked like cool buildings but didn't realize what I was missing out on. We took a ride up there from Fort Worth just based on the Yelp reviews. These buildings were originally built in 1927. It was a gas station and guest lodges used up until the 50's. Legend says Bonnie and Clyde stayed there for a night. Very cool history. Now the food.... Five ! The dining room isn't huge but quite a few tables and they keep in cold in there. Make sure you get their biscuits. Wow !! I had two eggs, biscuits, sausage and hash browns. The gravy was really good. All this for around $10. They kept the coffee flowing and service was really good. I'll be back.

Worth the stop. Go here! Down home personal feel with a bunch of great food. The coffee is decent and the biscuits are huge! The gravy tastes a mix of instant but the sausage really brings it to life. It wasn't bad and I'm super picky about gravy! The sausage egg cheese biscuit was next level with 2 panties, side by side with a huge egg and was great. The omelet was terrific. For a road side stop, it is charming and delicious!

Food was decent - not bad, not great. Server wasn't the friendliest. We'll go back and try it again in case it was just a bad day.

Great chicken fried steak. The breading was perfect and the sides were tasty. Unfortunately, no room for the pie (it looked great).

We had coffees that were typical diner coffee and pretty good. We ordered the chorizo burrito, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, and the skillets. It was all hot fresh and very good. I will definitely get that burrito again and the hash-browns were so good! Crispy and buttery. We hung out for a little bit catching up (they had slowed down and no one was waiting) and they didn't try to rush us and still gave us great service. I will definitely try this place again while in the area!

This is the hottest, and best breakfast in the Wise county area right now! Ambiance matters, and the radio had Dolly, Willie, Waylon and Hank in the first 30 min! For a guy like me, I'm sold! You just can't beat the Solid Gold country! Who would've thought I'd have a culinary first in Decatur, Texas. I'll be honest, I've never even heard of tzatziki on an omelette, but I'm here to tell you... I'm here for it! You want a Gyro meat omelette, cooked to absolute perfection, a 1/2 a mile high, with Gyro meat in it... and tzatziki sauce too? If this is your flavor profile, this place is worth the drive! In the words of my wife, and to the waitress and the owner... this is the Best omelette I have ever had! As a certified snob, who has eaten omelettes on at least 3 continents, she knows what she's talking about! And, as the waitress told us... the biscuits stand on their own! Stellar! Go look at the picture! I've said it a thousand time on YELP! Simple food, done well, by people who really care, is a formula that cannot be beaten! 5 STARS PS.... wait for the buffalo chicken sandwich review which I'll be looking to post in the next week... I cannot wait!!

They also have three pool tables and TVs. The menu is extensive and the prices reasonable for BBQ. Seems like a favorite of the locals. I though they would be playing C&W, but they had 60's and 70's music on. The squeeze and I split a two meat plate with brisket and sausage and two sides, cowboy cole slaw and Rooster Tails (Deep fried onion petals). The brisket was moist and very tender, with a slight smokiness. The sausage was deeply smoked, sliced in half and charred a bit on the flattop. The slaw and Rooster Tails were really good. A nice slightly spicy dip was served with the onions. Good BBQ sauce for the brisket, and they also had a wall of pain with some choice hot sauces on it. I didn't partake, since I have a flight to catch in the morning. They brought a second plate for no charge. The squeeze had a canned IPA and I had a Shiner Bock draft for libations. We really enjoyed the meal. Morgan was an excellent server and didn't try to shoo us out even though more customers were coming in. I wish I lived around here so I could try the other items on the menu.

Gorgeous day and we wanted to be outside! That said the food is always delicious. Started off with Fried Pickles. Lightly breaded and cooked to pure perfection with a slight crispy texture. Yummy. The double cheeseburger is the best in Texas..I'll keep saying it..or in their case screaming it from the roof tops (or upstairs since it's the only place they will seat us!)

Here again in 5 months on our way to San Diego…read more It's a Sunday, just before 8am. It is busy. Guess we're late as everyone is already halfway through their breakfast. Again this place is clean & neat despite the breakfast crowd. Our server was friendly and prompt with coffee and water. Today we ordered the Ryan's omelet and chicken fried steak. The omelette serving is big! Very generous amounts of ingredients and chunky size too! Love it! The chicken fried steak is huge! I think it's more a sharing size but if you're hungry, it's perfect for you. I'm pretty sure there'll be leftover.

Not a lot of "atmosphere" per se. Drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. Breakfast order took a minute; there seemed to be some confusion over which server was taking our table. BIL ordered one of the local breakfasts with all the usual: eggs, grits, toast, bacon. I opted for the veggie omelet with home fries and toast. Order took no time to be delivered. BIL finished his, and mine was the perfect portion. I hate having leftovers but this was not an overstuffed omelet, so I made short work of it. Home fries were a bit bland, but veggies in omelet were just right. Getting out of here was a challenge. Once food was delivered, we were able to watch servers talking while our drinks ran dry, and getting the check took a minute. It was good, reasonably priced and no leftovers gives it the 4-stars instead of 3, but once I'm done with breakfast, I have things to do, so no 5-stars on this one. I'm going to skip this on my next trip to Texas.

This location is straight garbage. The problems in this store are from the bottom employee to the management. 1. Its dirty. Dirty floors, tables not cleaned, stacked dirty dishes. 2. Staff is lazy. If youve got time to lean against the counter at the pass and send text or Facebook or whatever it is, y'all are doing. Then you've got plenty of time to go out there and wipe the nasty tables off or to clean the floors or to do the dishes. 3. Cooks are too busy screwing around to get orders out in a timely manner. Food comes out cold because cooks don't prepare an order properly. Eggs shouldn't be sitting up on the pass while you're busy trying to cook the bacon or sausage or pancakes that are supposed to go with them. By the time whatever else it is, is ready to go, the eggs are stone cold. And most definitely do not stack plates with food on them on top of each other. 4. Managers.
