I've had nothing but issues at the Sonic in Decatur. I swore them off a month or so ago because the service is terrible, they will just keep your change if you pay with cash, and several times of them messing up my order. I was coming through Decatur last night and convinced myself to stop and get a strawberry cheesecake shake. I tipped the girl who brought it out. I noticed while putting it in my cup holder that it didn't have any graham cracker crumbs on the top. One drink told me it was not a strawberry cheesecake shake, but rather a strawberry shake only. I paid extra to have the "master shake" and didn't get it. Whatever they put in it to make it taste like cheesecake (lemon juice) was not added to it and the graham cracker weren't mixed in either. There were none in it. To top it off, the cup she gave me had a big crack across the bottom of it and it leaked out on my shorts, in my cup holder, and on the counter I put it on at home. I didn't notice it in the car because it was dark, but I have since taken pictures of what I was given. That's it! I'm done for good and will NEVER go to a Sonic again! The managers don't care and the owners don't care! Decatur is one of three that are reasonably close to my home and I've had issues with all 3! I'm just done!!! This town is SMALL and I LIVE here and I won't come here again. Taking my order was like a Monty Python comedy sketch and after 4 tries and a long wait, it arrived....minus 2 orders of half-full fries. And a 5 minute wait for a fork. Honestly I like sonic and I'd say I go at the very least once a week, but I had to rate this 3 stars. It may deserve less. I order through the app majority of the time. Unfortunately they turn off mobile ordering for some early mornings where I'd like to get a quick burrito. And there have been multiple times they've left out extra ingredients that are charged. In the mornings between 6-7am the car-hop is super sweet and amazing customer service. (I think her name is Kaylee I may be mistaken) BUT!!! The biggest reason for this review is the ASSISTANT MANAGER. The assistant manager helps with car-hopping at times when Sonic isn't busy. I'm not sure if they are understaffed but ASHLEY!!! has terrible customer service!! The tone in her voice is that she's annoyed, doesn't care, and making the interaction so quick if you had a question or statement to make you couldn't get a word out. She can't even crack a smile or read the order clearly. Service like that makes me regret tipping and not do it. Which makes me feel terrible when I get the super sweet car hop. If it weren't for incorrect food and Ashley the rate would be much higher. read more

Not only is everyone here rude (especially Anna and her managers) but they never give you the correct portions. I've been here twice In the passed two months and both times my "large tots" were medium at best. When I complained the manager told me "oh well" and didn't offer more or any reimbursement at all. I have been to several Sonics and gotten the right size and always had friendly service. I have never had a good experience at this sonic and when the manager is involved it just gets worse. This Sonic is the worst I have ever been to! They can't take and order, they can't repeat an order, they notoriously burn onion rings. Not to mention there is nothing "fast food" about it. It is the slowest dat gum fast food joint I have ever been to. Probably because they are too busy burning onion rings. And today I tell them I would like Signature Sauce with my chicken bites. The girl tells me they don't have Signature Sauce. I said "it's right here on your menu." So she told me to hold on while she asked and WITH the speaker on I hear her having this conversation with another girl. Then she comes back and tells me they don't have anything called Signature Sauce, that "signature sauce" is just a phrase that covers all of their dipping sauces like BBQ, Ranch and Honey Mustard. Obviously neither one of them have ever read their stupid menu because it clearly says (as in the picture shown) Dipping Sauces: Honey Mustard, Hickory BBQ, Ranch, Country Gravy and NEW Signature Sauce. Imagine that. And it's funny how something that supposedly doesn't exist is listed as 100 calories. Imagine that too. read more

Great service, great food. The carhops are all really friendly and the food is better than any other Sonic in the area. 100% would recommend as a great place to get a bite to eat with your family. My one complaint is that sometimes they seem to be a little short-staffed which can mean waiting a little longer for food, but in the end it's worth it. read more

We came up here to visit my mom and my son wanted to eat at sonic. We usually don't eat fast food or go out for that matter but it was lunch time so I figured why not. Well as soon as I rolled my window down to order I got a huge whiff of cigarettes. I mean because that's what we all want to smell before we eat. I finished up our order and it was pretty fast coming out. The reason I'm rating this one star is because as soon as I took a drink of my unsweetened tea all k could taste was cigarette.. so I won't be finishing that. I went to check and see what my sons orange slush tasted like to make sure his didn't also taste like cigarette. Well it didn't taste like cigarette but it tasted like pool water... yummm. Not! First off I'm not one to EVER write bad reviews, but I've had enough. First incident I went in the doors to ask for an application and their were roaches just crawling around so one of the girls came out and was talking to me and I asked why they didn't do anything about them and they said they did but they just kept coming in Second is the bathrooms their either nasty or in this particular case water bugs crickets June bugs you name it it's covered the floor. OK I get it they come it, but could it hurt to sweep them out so your customers aren't bombarded while they're doing their business. Out of roughly 5-8 workers at a time someone is bound to go to the restroom. Last big issue for me is my boyfriend and I and one of our children (one was out with grandma ) went and got in on their half price shakes ... Guess what by 2 in the morning the 3 of us had it coming from both ends FOR 2 DAYS guess who wasn't sick... The one that didn't eat the ice cream. I am SOOOOO done with this place. The food sucks the car hops are rude and they take FOREVER even when they're empty. I honestly hope you guys have a better experience. read more
