I legitimately cannot tell if the employees here just can't/don't read or if management has terrible training but my god - the order accuracy of their to go team is abysmal. I generally order a fairly plain Caesar salad to go about once a week. Lettuce, chicken, croutons. Basic. Not hard to screw up. Right? WRONG. The volume of the three ingredients you receive swings WILDLY from week to week. Sometimes there's a ton of lettuce. Sometimes very little. Sometimes lots of chicken! Sometimes two pieces. The croutons though... the croutons are the bane of my existence. I started ordering extra croutons. I basically only eat one meal a day and I would like to enjoy it. And several times, I got salads with either zero or just a skosh of croutons. So... I figure. Put extra on the ticket to ensure at least 1/3 of the order ends up correct. Usually, it's still not. "Extra croutons" seems to be code for "a very average amount of croutons" at this location. And I've said something before, to try to correct it before making some public review. But, today. TODAY. Well - I'm attaching a photo of my salad with extra croutons. At this point, I just laugh at the incompetence. Either the team isn't trained on how to read tickets, or they don't care to read tickets but neither is a great customer experience. I was in the midst of a vital project this week and had absolutely no time to cook. So, I decided to order food from the McAlister's three minutes away because it seemed convenient and I had a coupon. After walking in, not seeing my order, and waiting a bit they checked in on me and we realized that ME (being so tired) ordered to the wrong location. Just as I was ready to admit defeat and drive there they offered to cancel my order elsewhere and remake it! After waiting for a short time I got my food along with some extras and they made it on the house because I'd waited for a bit longer than expected. I was having a terrible week and this bit on kindness really propelled me through another all nighter. I was heavily compensated for a mistake that I MADE and they absolutely did not need to be so gracious but I really appreciated it. DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT They served us 1 of 2 sandwiches with LARGE SPOTS OF MOLD on the bread. When we brought this to their attention they argued and said it was avocado (which clearly it was not) Neither one of us wanted to eat there after this considering if there is mold on one piece of bread- the whole bag of bread is compromised... so we went to get our money back and they only refunded us for the one moldy sandwich. We didn't notice this until after we left because there was ZERO communication about what we had, she didn't ask a single question- just argued it wasn't her fault. Elliot then said she couldn't do anything for us after we had left and called to get the rest of our money back. Not the best representation of your management team for this business. Worst food, even worse customer service. Bad bad bad experience all around. Ordered a delivery for my family. Four sandwiches easy with a side of Mac and cheese was around $40 which isn't bad at all. On a Saturday afternoon our food arrived in 30 minutes. We ordered the ham and cheese sandwiches and it was quite good. We opted for sides of Mac and cheese and that was also very good. It was very creamy with a good flavor. I think the only possible negative is the portion on the sides is sort of small. But also portions in America are big compared to other countries eh? That shouldn't detract from the rating because the food is really good but the sides of Mac and cheese weren't quite all the same as far as the amount. A few containers had more/less than others. Other than the side portions not containing the same amount our order arrived correct. We did have the sandwiches come with no tomato on all of them and nothing got messed up. Have always been happy when ordering a delivery or eating in. The staff are friendly and genuinely seem like they are happy to see their customers. Our business, Loreto House, has had delivery on several occasions. Stephen is always so kind. (He makes someone feel as if they are the most important person while helping them.) The order has been perfect when delivered. Absolutely no complaints. Love, love, love the Fire Roasted Veggie Soup. (I wish it was on the take out menu online. I always have to call to change the soup when I place an order). But even with that I do like this location very much. Today's meal was perfect. We tried this location out for the first time a few weeks ago, when they had been opened a couple of months. We came in mid afternoon on a weekday, between rushes, so there were very few people there. I was struck by the fact that this place was immaculately clean and that they actually had enough staff on hand. The staff was very friendly and ordering was a pleasant process. The food was okay. My husband got the McAlisters Club and chips. The chips are Lays, so that's fine. However, he finished every bite of the club, and I don't think he finished it at the last location we went to, so he enjoyed it. While waiting on our food, I started digging in to my sugar cookie. It's a decent size for the price and it was pretty good. I like crispy edges, which this had, but the inside was a little too chewy for my preference. They have stickers on the back for when they were made, and I had a cookie that was made the same day. I've never been a big sandwich person, but I thought the Garden Fresh Turkey sandwich was pretty good. It was my first time trying the turkey at any of the locations and the taste was spot on. It was really messy though and fell apart easily. But I come for the soup and the soup wasn't right. The color wasn't right and the taste wasn't right, it either was on the burner too long on high, or it was just old. Honestly, it was inedible and I ate very little of it, putting my focus on the sandwich and side of fruit instead. The fruit was fresh and delicious! The manager left to do the bank deposit as we finished up. I took the drink to the counter to get a refill and mentioned they should redo their Broccoli Cheddar soup. As we were gathering our stuff, the girl who originally took my order came by to inquire for some details on what was wrong so she could have the kitchen redo it. They did ask if they could replace it, but my husband was finished, and I didn't really want to wait, so I declined. The staff was young and the manager was out, so I wasn't offered a refund, but I didn't ask for one either. I thought it was sweet that she was trying to do what she could. At this point, I was leaning towards 3 stars, but since the other items were good and the service was great, I felt 4 stars would be more fair. In the end I decided to leave my review in drafts until I could visit again and determine if this was a one off situation or not. I had some free meal cards from a while back that I had been told by someone in marketing I could use at any location, so I decided to use those in case I was disappointed with the soup again. We came back Wednesday after 6pm and they were packed. I was pleased to see the same girl who had originally helped me last time as she has excellent customer service skills. I showed my meal cards and she took them without issue, but when I was waiting on my drinks I heard the manager tell her that she shouldn't take these in the future and tell customers to use it at the original location they went to. I approached the counter and engaged the manager in a conversation. I assured her that I wasn't trying to break their policy, but had specifically asked the person who sent them to me, as I am rarely by the location that sent me the cards. We had a pleasant conversation about the situation and she didn't want me to pay. She handled the situation well and I believe we left it at the agreement that the store should notify marketing to be more specific with customers who receive the cards. The food came by at a reasonable time considering the huge crowd. There were still tables needing to be cleaned, but many clean ones available and the floors were in good condition considering the rush. The same girl who keeps helping us delivered our food and I wish I knew her name. She is very sweet and personable and was hustling the entire time. This place gets a lot of to go orders and she chased someone out who left something behind. Great service! Food was pretty good on this visit. I couldn't stop eating the salted caramel cookie, very tasty! My husband ate all of his angus sandwich and there were so many Lays chips leftover. It's a fair portion for the price. I tried the spud max without olives this time. I didn't like the potato at another location, but I ate all of this one. I wish they included more cheese and butter, but there was plenty of sour cream and lots of meat. I noticed they used way more ham than bacon or chicken, but I actually liked their ham, so it was pretty good overall. The soup still isn't right- too orange and an aftertaste that isn't there at the other locations. However, it was way better than last time and actually edible! I ate about half of it and it wasn't too bad, it's just clear they aren't executing the same recipe the same way as the other locations do. Even though soup is the main reason for me to go to this chain, I think they did a good enough job with everything else that I will probably come by occasionally. read more

I normally really enjoy McAllister's, however when you order an Orange Cranberry sandwich and a baked potato with smoked turkey and both come with roast turkey. It can completely ruin the meal. They are nothing alike in taste. Please train your employees to know the difference, or make it aware to your customers that you're out of stock of smoked turkey so they can order something different. read more

I usually start a stopwatch when I go in to pick up food to see how long it takes for me to get out. Usually I sit there for 5-6 minutes before an employee stops and asks what I'm waiting on, disappears, then returns with my food. I guess there's another secret place in the back where they hide some orders or something? Anyhow, today I sat there for half an hour. Managers & lackeys just walked past me, some even made eye contact. Some stopped and asked other customers what they were waiting for. But they didn't ask me. Is it because I'm Asian? My wife and I have patronized this restaurant since they opened. We stopped by the yesterday on the way home and grabbed some food to take home. My wife got the harvest chicken sandwich. Arriving at home we unpacked at the table to eat. My wife remarked how little chicken salad was on her sandwich. I looked at it and the serving size was remarkably small, a small smear across the bred, super thin. Certainly NOT anything that even remotely looked like the picture on their website. So before she ate it, I dug out the kitchen scale. There was exactly 1.4 oz of chicken salad on that sandwich. They stacked a thick layer of greens on top of it to hide the missing filling. I fully realize that times are hard and many restaurants are coping and trying to catch up after the so-called pandemic created so much havoc. The $30.18 we spent on 2 lunches to go - not a good value. The way to recover is by providing good food that impresses the customer. Needless to say, this is one place we have removed from our list of eateries we will be visiting. Sad, this used to be a great place to eat out. read more

I want to give a big Thank You! to McAlister's Deli on University. I placed an order for lunch delivery on their website but it never came. I called them and was told it was picked up by Doordash and to contact them. Doordash told me that since I ordered on the company website, I had to contact McAlister's. Whew! When I called McAlister's back, they were very polite, professional, and apologetic. They agreed to make my meal, again, to pick up after work (which I did). The next day I found they completely comped my meal! Customer service like that is one of the biggest reasons I give my patronage to places. read more
