When I am in Denton, this is a restaurant I really enjoy going to. They have home made chips that are so tasty! Honestly, for me, their chips are the best! And while I have only eaten sandwiches here, I am never disappointed. Today I had the chicken salad with grapes - so good! And our waitress was so kind and personable. You know how some wait staff are either too attentive or just disappear on you - thats not what I received today. It was the perfect amount of attention for me to enjoy my meal and also feel her presence.

Reuben with brussel sprouts

Delicious food! Reuben was great and juicy. The brussel sprouts were very flavorful and crisp. And a good portion at that! May was an excellent waitress and overall a great visit here.

Loved this place! This place came highly recommended to me so I had to give them a try. I had a little time while getting a new battery installed in a car and so I gave them a try. Upon first entering the ambiance was very pleasant. They were very busy and yet the noise level was such we were able to visit comfortably. Typical cafe type setting, but pleasant. The star of this place is the service and the food. Noah, our waiter gave us great service. He was on top of our experience and was a big part of making the total meal experience a great one. I ordered the pancake combo breakfast. It came with 2 eggs cooked to order, a breakfast meat, hash browns or home fried potatoes, and of course pancakes! It was all really good! Also at our table was a BLT Sandwich and the Tuscan Grilled Cheese. Everyone was really happy with their meals. I don't live close, so probably won't be a regular, but certainly won't hesitate to come back when I am in Denton at a meal time!

Cheeseburger and fried okra

I decided that I wanted a burger, so tried this place. I don't like the location because it takes a few to find since it's at the backside of the building your GPS will take you to. But not overly bad, though. Let's start with the okra since that's the first thing I ate lol. It was fried okra, nothing overly special or anything, but it was a change from fries like everyplace else has (it's 1 side of your choice, which had a decent list of choices). Now onto the burger. I am no fan of mayo, so I got mustard instead. The burger was pretty good size and tasted pretty good (it was a burger, so nothing to really stand out). The one thing I didn't like is that the bun they use has a sweetness to it which I can see being popular, but not a choice I would prefer when getting a burger, since the Sweetness doesn't really go with it. If got their BBQ one, might be different. The good part of the bun, though, was it was soft and didn't start to fall apart like they do many places. Overall the food was good, not exceptional. The staff was really good, though, and made it very easy to place the order, find a place to sit down, and the order was brought out to me. I may return, but if I do, would use that to get their BBQ one and test that one out. Also my order for a decent sized burger and fried okra was only just over $11, which is really cheap these days

Mac n cheese

My wife and I were out driving looking to grab a quick lunch and found Sidewalks Cafe. It's a small little cafe but the tables aren't packed together which is good. Our server was a nice young lady named Morgan. We asked her what was good and she made recommendations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Morgan was extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. I chose the catfish on her recommendation with fries and Mac n cheese. It's one piece of fish but it's a big piece. Was cooked perfectly and the breading was crispy. The fries weren't really salted which I MUCH prefer. Most places over salt fries. Fries were nice and crispy and the Mac n cheese was creamy and very flavorful. My wife got the Tuscan grilled cheese with arugula and avacado with tomato basil soup. I sampled it. It was great. Our drinks stayed topped off and Morgan came to check on us several times. Service was great. The menu has a lot of options so I think anyone can find something. It's a small little cafe but it's clean and they had a lot of staff working. However as we sat there we noticed a lot of burgers coming out of the kitchen. It's a thick burger on a sweet Hawaiian type bun according to our server. So next time I'm trying it. I very much recommend this place. Great food and great service. We will go back.

I looove this place. Me and my daughter just came here…read moretoday and she had the Monte Cristo. That was delicious ! Than we asked for a side of Hollandaise sauce and that made it even better !! Seven Mile Cafe is one of those places that wins you over before the food ever arrives…read more The space is gorgeous. Large restaurants often feel like eating inside an aircraft hangar with pancakes, but Seven Mile somehow pulls off the opposite. They've used the space brilliantly, creating little pockets of comfort and intimacy that make you forget there are dozens of other people around. It's warm, inviting, and comfortable without trying too hard. Whoever designed the flow of the place deserves a raise and possibly a breakfast burrito. The menu is enormous. If you've ever wanted a restaurant to look you directly in the eye and say, "What if we made literally everything?" this is your spot. There are so many options that choosing breakfast starts to feel like applying for graduate school. The food is good. And I mean that sincerely. Good. Not life-changing. Not "I saw God in a waffle." Not "I immediately texted three friends and changed my personality." Just good. The challenge is that some dishes seem determined to be more important than they need to be. Sometimes breakfast doesn't need a backstory, a mission statement, and a personal brand. Sometimes eggs just want to be eggs. There's a tendency toward elevation where simplicity might actually serve the food better. Still, the food is enjoyable across the board, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a really solid breakfast and brunch spot. The waitstaff, however, are exceptional. Friendly, attentive, kind, on top of everything, and somehow managing to navigate a packed restaurant without looking stressed. They made the experience noticeably better, and that's not always the case. Major credit to the team. Now we arrive at the part of the review where my wallet would like to make a statement. The price. No. No no no. Absolutely not. The prices feel about 30% higher than they should be. Every time something arrived at the table, my taste buds said, "This is good," while my bank account quietly whispered, "Are we being extorted by breakfast?" It's not that the food is bad. It isn't. It's good. But the pricing suggests I should be having a transformative spiritual experience involving maple syrup and self-discovery. In the end, Seven Mile Cafe is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service, a huge menu, and reliably good food. I'd happily eat there again. I'd just like my pancakes and my credit card to be on speaking terms afterward.

The overall vibe has changed, and not in a good way. There seems to be a clear tension in the space that makes it uncomfortable to be there as a customer. From what I've observed, the current manager creates a very unpleasant environment. She consistently appears angry, tense, and overly controlling, and it visibly affects the staff. The employees often look uncomfortable, uneasy, and as though they are being constantly micromanaged. It's hard not to notice, and it completely changes the energy of the place. As someone who has spent money here and genuinely liked coming in before, it's frustrating to see management have such a negative impact on what used to be a welcoming environment. A business like this depends heavily on atmosphere, and when management makes both employees and customers feel uncomfortable, it reflects directly on the entire experience. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't already driven more employees away, because it is definitely pushing customers away. I hope ownership seriously reevaluates the current management situation before it causes even more damage to the business.

On this morning, quite a few two-tops were available. Fortunately, there was no need to sit by the bar as those stools had no backs. I ordered the Classic Breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes, of which I barely finished half, were very delicious. The sausage patties were equally delightful. The same could not be said of the syrup which congealed as it poured. Although the fried eggs had a pleasant taste, I failed to be more precise on how they were to be cooked as the yolk was liquified. When I ordered the Holiday Brew drip coffee, I wished the cashier had suggested the Bottomless Drip. As I usually drink more than a single cup, I could have saved some money. Regardless, the coffee had a very pleasant taste. When gratuity was requested, it would have been very beneficial to know for what I was tipping? When I ordered off the breakfast menu, the price was not for the raw ingredients but the cost of it being made. The same with ordering drip coffee. When I saw the silverware by the cream and coffee sweetener, I expected to grab my own utensils. As it was my initial visit, the sign to bus my own table was totally unexpected. It definitely explained why there were a lot of crumbs on the table. Since the sign was near the back, it would have been easily missed if I had not visited the restroom.
