Well, seems that everyone knew of "MartyB's" but me. I happened to drive by their location and noticed several people parking, and heading in during lunchtime. Since there were so many folks, I decided to stop in to see what the fuse was about. Let me tell you, from the friendliness of the staff, and the warm atmosphere - I hoped that the food would live up to it. I was so excited- because IT DID. I had the brisket sandwich and fries which were great sized portions, and good food! I even had enough to take some home. Now this is a family style restaurant. The food: not too much to write home about. But the service and ambiance? 5/5! We were meeting up some friends who were on their way back to Oklahoma and needed a a spot that would suit kids ages 10 months - 7 years old. The outdoor patio is absolutely massive and kid friendly! They had a large stage where the children naturally wanted to run around and enjoy their adorable freedom. The servers seemed to just "get it" and accept the beautiful chaos (we kept an eye of course to make sure they weren't in anyone's way). Here is proof that if you build it they will come. It feels like just yesterday that this was an empty piece of land out in the middle of nowhere. Now it's a bustling restaurant, bar, concert hall and event space all rolled into one. And people can't seem to get enough of it. The food is quintessentially southern with a mix of barbecue, Tex Mex and American dishes. Now that I have been a few times and had some of each, it's clear that barbecue is their strong suit. You really can't go wrong with any of their smoked meats. And, barbecue is very serious business for folks out here so that's saying something! Not everything on the menu is quite as good, but I think that's just one of the pitfalls of having such a wide selection. I also have to commend them on having some of the friendliest and hardest working servers around. They aren't always the fastest, but it's understandable in a perpetually busy environment. Speaking of being busy, I have never seen this place NOT crowded. So the only downside for me is that it might be a little too popular, especially when there's live music. This place has really developed and is a fun date night, large party, friend group, or even single diner spot. Not only is the original Marty Bs a large concert venue and hangout spot attached to the main restaurant, but now on the same property there is a separate coffee shop and ice cream parlor too. This visit, there were 4 total in my party. I got the southern fried tamale cakes with green chili Mac and cheese and it was fantastic. Others in my party stuck with their signature street tacos and got brisket or pork. It was a dreary Saturday but they had the fire pit going out front and the rain did not keep folks away. Our first time visiting, we stopped in for an early lunch around 11:30 and were sat right away but it quickly filled up. Towards the end of the meal it was booming with everyone's conversation - it was very hard to hear my own conversation and the noise was overpowering. Our server was attentive and quick, very friendly and welcoming. The onion rings were crisp and golden, not at all greasy. We ordered lunch specials, the brisket meatloaf with green beans and potatoes au gratin and the stuffed baked potato with brisket. It was SO delicious. Both had great portions, the potatoes au gratin were so creamy , and the brisket meatloaf had a great crust to it. The baked potato was HUGE I barely finished a third. We had leftovers to take. A gem tucked away somewhere near Lantana, Marty B's is Texas in every way. It's BBQ, it's Big. Craving wings one day, my search of Yelp led to Marty B's. Pleasantly surprised, Marty B's smoked wings were fuego!! The smoke profile was present yet still allowed the chicken to shine. A great thing I did was get the sauce on the side for dipping. Marty B's seasoning has a just a tad of a heat from the pepper used. Overall, great smoked wings. The ribs as folks say today -- tenderism! Were they just falling off the bone, no. Were they melting when you bit them, yup! We call that a good rib. Green beans were a no for me, too crunchy. Got the food to go, however staff were helpful. Order didn't take long either. We have been meaning to try Marty B's for a LONG time. My BBQ-loving in-laws were in town recently, making for a perfect excuse to go. It is a lively, fun atmosphere with a family friendly outdoor patio. There is plenty of parking. The service was great and the food delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of options on the menu. My in-laws loved their BBQ, and my husband and I loved our TexMex entrees. We came here with our friends and our 2 year old. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun and very country if you're looking for that- this is a spot for you. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was a dream, wonderful sandwich. We shared wings, fries and nachos at our table, all of which were great. I will say the portion size of nachos is enormous, not a problem but we ordered 2 plates of nachos for our table and it was way too much. We got the kids burger for my daughter, I usually cut it up for her and noticed it was quite charred on the bottom- almost burned. She enjoyed the fries and wouldn't have eaten much anyway so I considered it a wash. Service was friendly and quick although I would have appreciated a warning on the size of the nachos, we definitely over-spent as 1 plate would have been enough for us. A couple of friends chose this venue for lunch today, and talk about a unique experience!! The restaurant also features plenty of free parking, and they even have a corral if you decide to ride your horse to this restaurant.They have an expansive patio, and a large indoor dining room. The menu has a great selection of appetizers, entrees, handhelds, steaks, and of course various bbq smoked meats. Our server, Jared, was very welcoming and engaging. Throughout our whole lunch he was attentive without being intrusive. I chose the Fried Tamale cakes which are sweet corn griddle cakes topped with chicken tenders drizzled with honey mustard, Valentina hot sauce, and cinnamon butter, served with a side of green chile mac and cheese. It was exceptional!! The tenders were perfectlt fried, and the combination of sauces and cinnamon butter made the dish over the top delicious!! Good food, good friends, good times is a good description of this spot. The side salad I had ordered was a pretty standard salad but was still good. It contained iceberg lettuce, onion, and tomato with a variety of dressing options including normal and jalapeño ranch dressing, and honey mustard. For my entree I had the cheese burger, quick note it is marked on the lunch menu as a hamburger but your server should ask you if you want a cheese burger or hamburger. It was a pretty good burger but nothing overly special but was a good meal. The service was great. The waitress made many remarks about the fact she had served some members of our group before. On point! Meats were smoked to perfection--ribs fell right off the bone, while the brisket and pulled pork packed flavor and great texture. The Au Gratin Potatoes were excellent, though the Mac & Cheese missed the mark. Super creamy, but lacking in flavor with an off-texture on the noodles. And the service? Top-notch!!!!! We booked the bottom luxury suite for our daughter's and son-in-law's welcome dinner for the day before their wedding. Keitha Carson was our contact from booking the room to finalizing the details (food, drinks, any questions we had prior to the event)...amazing at communicating and very quick with all responses. At the dinner, we had Ashlyn and Pierceson as our servers. They were absolutely phenomenal!!! Service was impeccable and they were constantly checking on everyone. We chose the Three by Two buffet with a couple of appetizers and open bar. Everything was sooo good (especially the brisket)! We also had our dinner during the same time the band, Party Machine, performed. They were very entertaining and played all types of genres. The night couldn't have been any better. I came here with my family to enjoy great company and relax. Overall food was great. I do think some portions are not priced well. One of the dishes we ordered was "Chargrilled Chicken Breast" - $18.99. The portion was small. You can tell they basically cut a chicken breast in half and spread it open to make it look like a big portion. Nonetheless, the dish was very delicious and I would still recommend it. I would price it at $14.99, based on portion size. We also ordered, "Brisket Tacos," "Marty B's Salad" and "Chicken Quarter with Brisket." My family overall enjoyed their meal and we would certainly return here. Our server was so kind and accommodating. She kept coming by and checking on us to make sure we were comfortable and had plenty of refills on our drinks. They also offer live music in their oversized covered patio area that can accommodate over 70 people. If you eat in the patio area, you have an option for a completely different menu list than eating inside. Towards the grand entrance, if you're patriotic, you'll love a Texas-Sized, American flag. To the left of the entrance, you will find a modern style fireplace and additional outdoor seating with tables. Parking can be tricky. Depending on when you get here, you can park right up front, or during busy times, keep circling around. These brisket enchiladas were delicious! I just fell in love with this place. Huge patio outdoor area and seating. Band area, heaters for cool nights, plenty of seating. You can even ride your horse up to the restaurant and there is an area you can tie them up while you enjoy your meal. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks full with out asking. I just ordered to go this time. It had been a while since I had been, it's nice that they have a separate building that handles to go orders. It can be pretty busy at the restaurant especially on weekends. I ordered the stuffed poblano that comes with smoked chicken. It was quite good, nice smoky flavor. It's a pretty big poblano I had planned to save left overs but it was good and I was hungry so I stuffed myself. I also got their street corn and asparagus as side dishes. I'm a frequent visitor to Marty B's, and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. This past weekend I had guests (over 10) in town, so decided to take them for dinner. The service was subpar, we never got drink refills or even water refills. I had to ask a waiter who was not ours, if they could refill our drinks and provide fresh cocktails. A few people ordered the Blackened Red Snapper, which is usually a favorite of mine. The bottom of the fish was so burnt and fish over cooked, they couldn't even eat it. There were 3 cooked this way, I didn't want to send it back as they felt bad about saying anything. But, I wanted to make you all aware, of the service we encountered. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot I knew we were going to have a great time. Marty Bs is set up for everyone to have a great experience. A family, a first date, an elderly couple - everyone we saw was enjoying themselves in their own element. The hostesses were welcoming and accommodated our table requests. We had a new waitress being trained by Tony who we later found out was actually a manager "undercover boss" style teaching her the ropes. Genius. They were both fantastic and gave us superb service and recommendations. My dad has hearing issues and they went with the flow and didn't miss a beat or make him feel embarrassed at any moment. The elote street corn tasted like they had a team in the back cutting the corn fresh off the cob and the seasonings were to die for. I loved the green chili Mac and cheese with brisket- almost cried when I took the first bite. The stuffed jalapeños had the perfect amount of sweet and savory and no overpowering spice. We tried the quesadillas with the fajita chicken and it was juicy and spiced with a limey after taste. We had rice on the side which was also delish. My sister got a two meat platter with mashed potatoes and gravy - the gravy was peppered and creamy and the potatoes nice and thick yet still melted in your mouth. I don't like sheet cake but this was no ordinary Texas sheet cake. Definitely need to give it a try. But the crown jewel was the ooey gooey cake. I had zero room left in my tummy but still took three bites of it with the home made ice cream. I couldn't help myself. An immediate walk around the block was in order after all the delectable food. This BBQ place in Bartlesville is amazing. It is huge has 3 eating areas ones inside with regular tables one is outside(but covered) has picnic tables a large tv screen and on weekends live music. There is one outside area with round tables. There are lots of servers who are quick and very helpful answering all my questions. Lots to choose from I got the 2 meat combo plate it came pretty quickly and was souch food I had enough for lunch the next day. We'd added chips and dip-chips were warm and crispy had a large dish od medium salsa and a small container of ranch dressing. We didn't get dessert but I bet they are wonderful also. It was easy to find and has 2 big parking lots. If we get over in that area again I know we'll stop. read more
