Chicken Fried Chicken but I asked to make it for breakfast. They had no problem to put eggs and hashbrowns with it.

We were so impressed with the food! The chicken was amazing. In fact my wife, son and myself all got chicken! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And they had live music on a Sunday morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're definitely coming back and coming more often. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot for food and to just hang out and listen to great music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great service too.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]They get the 4th star for the service and the ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's like the only country diner I grew up with. I liked it quite a bit. Our server was polite helpful and attentive. The food was very good, but to me, that is 3 stars. We started with the deviled eggs. They are good, but something like you would get at home. They have a bacon jam on them which was a little sweet but still good. They garnished the plate with red onions which was very potent. I would 86 those as a garnish. My wife had the Rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries. She gave the sandwich 4 out of 5 stars. No sauerkraut, but she said it had a really unique flavor. The sweet potato fries tasted fresh as opposed to the kind out of a bag. I had the chopped steak with mashed potatoes which came with a side of green beans. The steak, mashed and gravy were solidly tasty. My on complaint were the green beans. Tasted like they came from a can and were very mushy which makes me think today isn't the first day they have been on the heat. I would come back again.

Went on a Wednesday for the open-mic session on the back porch (enclosed). Casual and relaxed atmosphere. Very much a local vibe. It's acoustic only so when you come in the front door and see the basket of foam ear plugs--you won't need them on the porch on Wednesday nights. Full food and bar menu back there. Stephanie did a fantastic job serving a lot of people. Hope she's working if you go. Moved to the main restaurant area around 8:30 to listen to the MainStage live music. Tony Pierce was playing. Great guitarist and singer. Many might need the ear plugs at this point, although I thought it was just about right. Had a couple more drinks and enjoyed the local, live music vibe some more. P Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area. Glad we have something like this close by. Will start going more.

    "Texas" Breakfast Burrito

Since they started serving breakfast, or announced they do, I've been meaning to stop in and today I did. There weren't many people dining. The menu options were fairly good, lots to choose from and at 11am, seems they serve lunch. Coffee was good, but refills were hard to come by. Service was good, he was friendly and welcoming. It was easy to pay, settle the bill. The "Texas" burrito was anything but. It was small, and not "Texas" anything. It was very tasty, maybe needed sour cream and guacamole but otherwise was fine. I would order it again but note my expectations were that it would be a bit bigger in circumference, maybe even some queso. Bacon was good, no issues. With limited patrons, the service from the kitchen was remarkably slow, which was surprising. It took a while to get our food and our dishes were not overly complicated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice and we weren't hit up for the "band fee" I've read about in other reviews, but noted if I come here on a night when they are playing I'll get charged accordingly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would I return? Sure. It was ok.

Where can I start!! Bartonville food store was amazing, I took my wife on a date night and it exceeded expectations. I had the chicken fried steak that was cooked to perfection. There was a live band playing while we finished our dinner and drinks. If you love music and you love food then this is the perfect place for you!!

Nice Cozy Spot for Brunch on Sunday with Live Music! Great Food Selections and although priced higher than others worth every penny for scrumptious chef's creations. Brooklyn took good care of us making sure we had drinks and food was delicious.

Great food! Great music! Friendly service! Go enjoy the bands that play and come with an appetite. The food was delicious and made fresh to order.

This sprawling estate is able to accommodate lots of guests (vehicles included) for all different types of functions. Everything about the property is ostentatiously southern, which might seem kitschy to non Texans, but for locals it just feels comfortable and familiar. Since I was there for a banquet, the first thing I have to talk about is the food. It seemed only appropriate that barbecue was on the menu with things like brisket, smoked sausage and baked beans, all served buffet style. While it was respectable enough, the quality was closer to Dickey's or Spring Creek than more authentic Texas barbecue. I thought the bread pudding they had for dessert was a good choice since I don't see that very often, plus it was very tasty. This place also has several built in bars because at social events people need their adult libations! There were only a handful of options available, but frozen margaritas was one of them, so that totally made up for the small selection. In addition to special events and private parties they also host market days open to the public. For that they have local vendors selling their goods along with other family friendly activities, such as pony rides, a petting zoo and rodeo. Although I haven't been before, I'm inspired to go now after seeing how well they handled the event that we did attend.

It was a little cold there, so I did not go outside to the patio area. However it was very spacious. There was also a star with a live band and plenty of dancing space. There was also a basketball court available, as well as what appeared to be a campfire area. It is sufficient space for big events. The bathrooms were also clean, which is a plus. While I don't know the logistics of booming, as it was a corporate event, everything was well organized.

Our waiter made at least four separate mistakes throughout the meal, but one was completely avoidable and had real consequences. We specifically asked him to have my young son's chicken and fries cooled before bringing them to the table because we didn't want him to burn his mouth. He acknowledged the request, but either forgot or ignored it. The food came out straight from the fryer, and within seconds my son burned his mouth exactly as we were trying to prevent. As a parent, that's incredibly frustrating. We communicated a simple safety request, and it wasn't taken seriously. That alone overshadowed the entire meal. For a restaurant that prides itself on providing a high-end dining experience, the level of service we received was far below expectations. Multiple mistakes throughout dinner, combined with a preventable incident involving a child, left us extremely disappointed. We came expecting great food and professional service. Instead, we left frustrated, disappointed, and questioning whether customer care is truly a priority here. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because no family should have this kind of experience over a simple request that should have been easy to get right.

Atmosphere is nice and open with plenty of bar seats as well as communal high tops and standalone tables. Nice outdoor patio when Texas weather permits! Tried a couple of their beers: Miso Smooth (Japanese rice lager - 5.5% ABV) and Soul Fire Ultra Light (American Light Lager - 3.7 ABV / 15 IBU). Both decent enough for what they were, the latter being helped by the fact it was only $3 a pint. For food, tried the newly opened Zaep Zaep Thai joint. Had the Thai Basil Combo Fried Rice and an order of Spring Rolls. Seriously good stuff! Unexpected quality for a food court! The chef (owner?) also came into the bar to check to see if our food was to our liking. Definitely a nice touch and I wish him much success. Olivia's Scratch Kitchen serving African cuisine was the only other option open. Was a tough decision and hopefully will be back soon to try their offerings! There was also a cupcake place (Kid Kakes) that seems to get great reviews, but with Oak St Pie Company just a few doors down... well... sorry Kid Kakes! At only 20 years old, the bartender did a great job serving us and was more genuinely personable than many who have done the similar job for years. All-in-all a great impulse decision after The Original Roy Hutchins BBQ line ended up being far too long to wait in!

A short time later, the other bartender came to check if I was ready to order. The menu has "somewhat" improved. Gone is the messy and expensive Seafood Boil. In addition to the regular menu, there was a Wednesday Dinner Special and the Bar Top Bites menus. Of the three items on the Dinner Special menu, only the Cheesecake Basque dessert was on the regular menu, priced the same. Believing the portion size would be appropriate, I decided on The Hottie Calzone from the Bar Top Bites menu. The calzone took about 16 minutes. The server almost served my food to the customer who sat next to me. When the bartender came to check on me, she mentioned the calzone was missing the marinara on the side, and immediately went to the kitchen to grab it. The calzone was smaller than expected. Nor was it as stuffed as hoped. Considering its price was about half of their equivalent 12-inch two-topping pizza, it should have been expected. Because the jalapeño was not overpowering, the combination of the pepperoni, mozzarella, and the peppers was enjoyable. Although I still had an appetite, I passed on dessert. Many of the dessert items were served with caramel ice cream. Not a flavor top on my list. Also, my dining experience was not entirely pleasant. A nearby customer and the manager had a somewhat lengthy discussion about paying for an ice cube. Although it ended before I finished my meal, I was not in the mood to stay longer. On a minor note, it appears the wireless chargers have been disabled. Unlike my prior visit, they are no longer labeled "Wireless Charger".

In other words, you'd never catch a glimpse of it by simply driving through town (thank goodness for Google maps!) and even many of the locals are unaware of its existence. We did manage to find it though, with hopes that the food would be worth the effort it took to get there. My husband and I both started with caesar salads. Other than being a little heavy on the dressing, they tasted ok. The pecan crusted salmon and mac & cheese were next for me. The coating on the salmon tasted like the same stuff a Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole is topped with. Unfortunately, that's the one thing I never touch because I'm just not a fan of the flavors. Unlike the salmon and salad, there was nothing objectionable about the mac & cheese. My husband ordered a filet that arrived really cold and underdone. It was closer to mooing than medium rare like he requested! Even after they took it back to the kitchen to cook it some more, it came back pretty raw. The chocolate cake we had for dessert was probably the best part of the meal. It was so rich and decadent that we didn't even miss the raspberry sauce (I assumed they purposefully left it out since we got it to go). Considering that the management here has opened and closed so many different restaurants in this same spot, you would think that they would be experts by now at running a successful establishment. But for some reason, they continue to put out the kind of lackluster food that can be found for a lower price at a major chain. At least they can boast having a beautiful view if nothing else.
