I don't normally review but I am upset with both the service and the food. It was my birthday and we wanted Irish Nachos they have been awesome in the past. We could sit wherever- plenty of room. They have multiple tvs, so could watch some sports. Burger (not smash burger!! ) was fabulous- fries are REALLY good! Wings were decent, a little overdone, but good. Pizza was good, might have been cooked a little longer. Bologna sammy was good, but was thin- bread was fresh! We went here for Trivia night and it was soooo much fun. Our beer was good. Wings were meh asked for them to be crispy and they were not. But our friends ordered the salads and they were great. Happy to have this new addition so close to home!! Bartonville store is always very busy and always felt like going but they have so many people in a small area. Them and Marty Bs are the only local places I can rely on for live music so this new addition is great!!! Reasonably priced GOOD food. They didn't shy from the topping on the pizza, it was a thinner crust type and (as a pizza-snob) it was delish! I was a little surprised they only had 4 beers on tap but still a fully stocked bar so you'll find something you like. Patio is dog friendly. Plenty parking. A little family reunion with kids when we went so seemed real family friendly as well. Can't wait for the live music to start up. Will be going again. This was the only place open, which is why went went there. Menu had decent options for a pub like place. But the food wasn't very good. My wife barely touched her soup and grilled cheese. It wasn't even good enough to force down even though she was really hungry. The burger wasn't bad but the patties were TINY compared to the size of bun they give you. The old fashioned was so watered down that I just sent it back and didn't even want to waste my time with another drink. If you come here, just grab a beer and maybe some French fries, but look for other places first. The waiter was very friendly! Only good thing about the place. read more

It's sad, I've been here several times but the sewage smell is so so bad now. It used to be confined to the bathroom but now it hits you like was wall the second you walk in the front door. Service was good previously and food was too, but trying to eat anything with that smell now is not happening. If they could fix the smell, I'd be able to rate it a 4 or 5. New establishment we frequented this evening and can't say enough good things about it. Great Environment and Energy! Ashley was outstanding in keeping our drinks coming. We had some good conversation with a local patron who served in Afghanistan. Bought a couple drinks for him as a thank you especially since Veterans Day is tomorrow. All in all really enjoyed this place. The only criticism I have is not to expect to play and hear any music on the Touchtunes jukebox as volume is too low. I had asked for it to be turned up just a little and Ashley asked the Manager but she refused. Don't waste your money on it. Something I never understand is Owners install Jukeboxes that they benefit from and Patrons are charged money to play music but you refuse to play it at a volume at which it can be heard. read more

Stopped in with friends for dinner. We didn't really want "bar food" but gave it a try bc everything else was booked. Place was packed but we were seated right away. Our waiter, Nex, was great! Attentive, answered all questions and was really sweet. Appetizer- fried pickles and chips/queso. Meh- they were both good but nothing fantastic. Same ole. Dinner- the piglet (BIGGEST BLT with the thickest bacon I've ever had). It was good. A little too much thick bacon, (never thought I would say that) but still good. Texas philly cheesesteak- EXCELLENT!!! I don't like queso too much but it was awesome!! Onions/peppers were DA BOMB!!! Loved this sammich!!! Confused by this establishment. We had heard the owner of the Barrel was opening a more casual bar and restaurant next door and were super excited to try. We've been twice now because we want to sit and watch a game (rather than go to Marty B's) and the first time we went the outdoor TVs were not on. The staff didn't know how to turn them on so we left. The second time we were the only ones on the patio on a Saturday night at 5pm and the server didn't know the happy hour specials (offered daily) and forgot a few of the items we asked for when we ordered. We're just not sure why so much more effort is clearly put into the Barrel because it's an expensive location to not really try very hard for success. Sadly, we won't ever be back. read more
