As an Arsenal fan, I called over as I was on a work trip and was hoping to catch the champions league match. The lady was super nice and said they could definitely get it on their screens. I headed over and was very pleased with the setup. I got the clubhouse Cobb with the spicy honey mustard, and it was really delicious and reasonably priced. Even though I jumped a few times at someone trying to hit golf balls behind me like Happy Gilmore, I really enjoyed this place and will be back for future visits when in the area. read more

Very unassuming from the outside, but pleasantly surprising once inside! They have a bar, plenty of dining space, several sports multifunction simulators, which included golf, football, basketball, soccer, and even a form of dodgeball. There's probably more functions but these are those I remember. Their food was great! Nice choices that were reasonably priced. We had burgers and onion rings and beer(s). Cooked to order burgers that had a nice charbroiled tastes to them and a plentiful number of onion rings filled our table. The batter was great and not greasy. Yum! The single wait staff was absolutely off the charts. Her name was S....... . So sorry I can't remember her name at the moment. It was a Tuesday afternoon. What a great spot to have within walking distance of our house! If you're looking for a place with plenty of TVs, a great beer selection, tasty martinis, and burgers that are absolutely massive, this is it. The bar is large, the atmosphere is fun, and it's a great place to catch a game. The only thing I haven't quite gotten used to is the noise from the golf simulators. If you're not expecting it, the occasional "whap" of a ball being hit can be a little startling. It looks like they offer more than just golf, though. We saw kids playing a simulated soccer game as well. From what we were told, the simulators cost around $50 per hour, so it's probably best enjoyed with a group to split the cost. We haven't eaten here yet, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The burgers and wings were especially impressive, and the fries looked great too. We noticed both regular and sweet potato fries being served. The bartenders have always been friendly, laid-back, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Overall, it's a fun neighborhood spot with good drinks, a lively atmosphere, and food that definitely has us planning a return visit. Oh, and my bad, they have an outdoor patio too, which leads out to a grassy area, which is great for kiddos to play at. Not sure about dogs being welcome or not, so I'd give them a call. read more

The Argyle Open has opened recently near us. Unlike other restaurants that have recently opened I haven't heard anyone complaining that food quality or service is poor due to just opening. It seems like they were prepared to open in all ways. We went with two other couples for lunch to give it a try. The restaurant is spacious with optional outdoor seating. They have 4 large screens for virtual golf and other sports (I think). It would be fun to try it sometime. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. I am not a fan of nachos that are just piled on a plate. I am prefer how some restaurants prepare individual chips with the filling, but somehow The Argyle Open does a plate piled with nachos that is good and doesn't get soggy or have no toppings on the bottom. I would get it again. The fries are good. The boneless wings were like delicious chicken nuggets. The people that got the burgers said they were good. The chicken sandwich was good. I got grilled, but I do think it would probably be even better fried. read more

This is a pretty neat addition to the fast growing Northlake area. They have 4 bays where you can play a variety of sports. We were there the first time near Halloween and there was a lady playing fast pitch softball against zombies, that was kinda funny. I had the bacon cheese fries and they were good. Went in today. Probably my 3rd or 4th time. Today we noticed that some staff (possibly one of the owners) were all hanging out at the end of the bar, drinking. No big deal, except the rest of the wait staff kept stopping by talking. It literally took them 12-15 minutes to pour a beer and here is the kicker, the place was NOT busy at all. Waitress was not really focused on us and seemed un phased when I asked about my beer. I've been to other restaurants in the area and the owners actually greet you in their establishment. I used to enjoy coming here and have drinks on the regular. Until the bartender Julie Anne gave less than subpar service. Serving others who came after me their drinks and drinking beer behind the bar. When the check came I gave $0 tip. I saw her take the receipt, crumple it up and throw it away. She came back to me and said she "lost the tray with the receipt, so what was the tip" and brought me another receipt to tip her. Feeling absolutely cornered I felt obligated to tip her less than the 20% of $2 from my $14 bill. I will never step foot into this establishment again. If Julie Anne is allowed to corner the patrons I see why the business is failing. My boyfriend spoke to the owners wife but no apology was given to me. If you want a drinking bartender to corner you I guess this the place to be! read more

Staff was friendly, but the food was disappointing. The burger tasted like a frozen patty, and the wings had very little seasoning. The onion rings and fries were good, but overall it felt too expensive for what we received. There was also a young child running around while an adult loudly played with her, which made it hard for my husband and me to hear each other talk. We were so excited to have a new bar open nearby, so it was really disappointing to have this experience. As a business owner myself, I wanted to share this feedback because I know how much work and money goes into running a place like this. Not great service at all. Really neat atmosphere. Food was from the freezer to plate. So much that it was cold in the middle. Not going to avoid it but not going out of my way to go back. I think it was $50 /hour to play the simulator which works out to a real round of golf. Not my jam but it's what we have here in the area. I'll give it one more shot. Place might be good in the winter or fall when golf conditions suck but I'll steer clear till then. read more
