It has been a few years since I last visited this place. I was seated by a booth near the entrance, which meant I was exposed to a chilly breeze whenever the door opened. Fortunately, it did not occur too often. The half and half in my coffee had leaked into the bottom of the nearly empty container. My waitress promptly replaced it with a container from a nearby booth. While sipping my coffee, I noticed an unusual texture on the rim. The mug had a slight chip, but I managed to overlook it. Instead of taking my food order when she served my coffee, she immediately left to attend to other tables. This unexpected delay gave me a chance to admire the muffins displayed in the case. When I spotted a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip muffin, I decided to order a light breakfast and went with the Chorizo Tacos. Holding the tortilla prevent the toppings from falling out was a bit of a challenge. The red salsa lacked heat, while the green salsa provided a pleasant kick. Both salsas had softened the tortillas, making them unable to hold the ingredients securely. My hash browns were my favorite style--crispy on top and moist on the inside. If I had not planned on ordering a muffin, I would have easily enjoyed more than a couple bites. For someone who enjoys the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip muffin was delicious. Most of the chocolate chips were placed on top, with a smaller amount mixed into the batter. If I wanted a less chocolatey experience, I could simply skip the muffin top. Been driving and riding my bike by here for years. Finally stopped in. Great people from the waitress to the manager to Ron the bus boy. Super friendly and helpful with advice. Maybe because I was a solo diner they gave me a little more love. Plenty of parking in the lot out front. Large interior not obvious from outside. Noise level high as it's a concrete floor. Saturday late morning it was fairly full and bustling with families. Clean. Tables cleared promptly of dirty dishes. I had the huevos de Fred which was eggs over hash browns. Solid flavor melange. Salsa was really good and I'd get a second helping of salsa next time. Sourdough toast a standout. Thick and nice texture, loaded up with butter. Orange juice seemed a little watery but cold and refreshing. Not top notch food and at $20 including tip, not a cheap breakfast. But the cordial staff go a long way with me and elevate the experience to four stars. read more

I used to live going here until I was served their really good cheesesteak sandwich on moldy bread. It wasn't just a little speck of mold, it was huge and I don't know how the chef missed it when assembling the sandwich. Haven't been back since. Waitress was horrified when I showed her. I hadn't been here in several years, and I had only been here for breakfast. But when my daughter and grandson visited, we thought we'd try something different for lunch. We arrived on the early side of lunch and found a busy parking lot. The cafe was busy, but there were still plenty of open tables, and we were seated pretty quickly. Despite the strip center location, this is a cozy, family-styled cafe. Our server came by soon after to greet us and get our drink order. I had the club sandwich on sourdough with French fries, my daughter had the chicken fried chicken special, and my grandson had the grilled cheese. All of the food was prepared kind of home-style and was fresh. We especially enjoyed the house-made French fries. My sandwich was good. But the chicken fried chicken did not impress and the grilled cheese, while perfectly grilled on the outside, was still mostly unmelted cheese on the inside, which was a little disappointing. Overall, we still had a good experience, and I would try this Snooty Pig again. It will just remain a "not our first pick" for lunch in Argyle. It was about the toughest CF steak that I've ever had. Really tasted like grade Q steak. The hash browns were pretty dry and flavorless. We have a group of 7 car guys that go to lunch every week. Of all the places we go [6 different places], this is our favorite. Great service, good food and incredible prices on the daily specials. I had in the past a negative attitude towards them, not sure if was me or they really improved, but they are the best in the Highland Village, Flower Mound and Argyle area. I've dined in here a few times for breakfast. Most times I get food go. Service was pretty good. Breakfast is always good.

The positives: aside from there being gum stuck to the table, the place was clean (yet having chairs up in one side of the restaurant is unacceptable during operational hours) and the kitchen knows what they're doing. However... the negatives: we were greeted by 3 very frantic geriatrics who kept that energy for the entirety of the visit, the menu has stated that they have a house made bun - that's absurd, it was false and even the waitress claimed that "everything is made in house". There is absolutely not way lol that kind of shyt should be worthy of fining. Watered down coffee, poor communication, bland food, Xmas decor before November. More cringe than appetizing. Never again. A place like that is already going under therefore the quality of products they purchase to offer to the public (definetely DEFINETELY overpriced) is the lowest quality possible. The lower quality the product also equates to trying to scrimp on staff pay. (Processed chicken "meat", apparently a pre-frozen mix of veggies, very thin syrup, etc.) It's like someones power struggle is now their failure. I couldnt even carry on a conversation with my company without being interrupted by every staff member ​who were obviously on edge due to one main overbearing, old, bored woman who incessantly barked cleaning duties while waitstaff was trying to perform customer service. I love this place. Home cooking and great home town atmosphere. Friendly wait staff that is very attentive and a joy to talk to. I enjoy coming in the morning on weekends for a nice traditional 3 egg breakfast with ham and biscuits, endless hot coffee and a Togo for when the family is sleeping in. My dogs really look forward to a side of meats for a treat as well. You'll always find some local Argyle and Denton police, sheriff, or firefighters here as well as a few local celebrities like legends of the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburg Steelers, or Texas Rangers. My boyfriend and I live to eat breakfast out on weekends! Decided to try this place today. 1. The booth was super dirty. Clean the cracks and at least get the salt and food particles off the seat part! Gross. 2. When my food was placed in front of me I almost sent it immediately back because it smelled awful. It was an oil smell. Like maybe they use cheap oil to fry their even cheaper, small, low grade eggs. The yolks were the size of quarters. Super pale yellow. You aren't getting nutritious eggs at this place. 3. I guarantee the hash browns are bought frozen in bags. Nothing fresh about them. They smelled like they'd been frozen and in a plastic bag then just heated and barely browned. In fact, they were lukewarm when they arrived. 4. The French toast was tasteless. Barely soaked in any kind of French bread mixture and then quickly heated. It may have been pre made and frozen as well. It literally tasted like warmish bread with syrup on it. 5. I don't even think they cook their own bacon. It too looked like the pre cooked kind you just heat up and serve. It doesn't even smell like bacon in the restaurant. 6. They had "homemade cinnamon rolls" as a special today. They didn't look appetizing. They had about a tablespoon of icing on a roll the size of a saucer plate. 7. Got a side of biscuits and gravy to take home to our son. I opened it when I got home and it's clearly Pillsbury dough rolls. I know that smell from anywhere. I did hear a microwave beeping off and on in the kitchen the entire stay. Aha!!! See!! So, if you don't mind someone cooking cheap stuff from Walmart for your breakfast, this is your place. I'd have rather stayed home and cooked myself... at least I buy quality food to cook I was just overall not pleased one bit by this place. I only left feeling snooty and wanting to write this Yelp review. LOL. Thanks Snooty Pig! I know this review is a little harsh, ok-- a lot, but I really did leave in a bad mood over what we had just overpaid for. Bad breakfast. Really bad. Argyle deserves a decent breakfast joint.
