"This place is never not busy." As I was told by by a local dentonite, and they were right. This place was absolutely packed to the brim of people enjoying brunch. I totally thought we were destined to wait a crazy long time. However, since it was just a small two top we were seated immediately. Their menu is definitely intimidating and they even have a coffee menu that is two-sided. All I can say is the food is absolutely delicious and totally worth the wait. The portion sizes are huge so if you get an omelette you will not finish it. The flapjack was cinnamon crunch and it was amazing and did not need syrup. The coffee was also absolutely delicious. Found my new favorite breakfast spot! I had 1egg, 1bacon, loaded grits and the lemon blueberry jacks. I love that the menu has so many options and actually lets you mix and match to get exactly what you want. They also have a huge variety of coffee, including sugar-free options, which is a huge plus. We have been going to Oldwest for yeeeeaaars. Usually the Grapevine location but we tried the Corinth location this past time. Our server was a doll and the breakfast can't be beat. My husband always goes for eggs Benedict and is always happy. Omelets are spot on, hasbrowns...yum and if you want a pancake, this is the place. I love the lemon blueberry pancake. It's delicious and no syrup is needed. Our family usually shares one because they are gigantic pancakes. If we have the opportunity to go to breakfast, OldWest is always my choice. Enjoy!! read more

Had a lovely experience here this weekend for brunch. It was a busy Sunday for sure with several families ahead of us but we only needed to wait 25 to 30 minutes for a table. The server was very friendly and answered all of our questions promptly. He moved with urgency and got us all that we needed! This place is a solid 4.5! Great food, friendly service, and an incredible selection of coffees and teas! The food: I got the migas (YUM), and hubby got the biscuits and gravy. He also got an omelet, but would NOT shut up about the biscuits and how many he will order on our next visit: some with the sausage gravy and one for butter and honey (dessert). The atmosphere: it isn't anything to get excited about (the only reason this place didn't get a full 5 stars from me). It's located right off the super-busy I-35E, and it's a big open building with chicken decor everywhere. The service: so dang friendly! Food was prompt, and when we pointed out a mistake, the manager delivered the new (correct) entree (so not necessary, but what a nice touch). The only reason this isn't 4 stars is because of the attitudes we were "greeted" with...your hostess team needs to be friendly and engaging. The entrance and waiting areas could be better, not easy for disabled folks. Luckily, our waitress was very good. Now, onto the food. We had chicken fried chicken, the vaquero skillet, the coosies skillet and of course shared a buttermilk pancake. The chicken fried chicken was very good and "one of the best" he's had. The vaqueros skillet was very good, those potato's are really good!! The salsa was very fresh tasting as well. The coosies skillet had fluffy biscuits and the gravy was really good. The pancake was just a pancake, kind of stick to the plate but it was still tasty. We were very pleased with the food overall. Again, our waitress was great. Ambiance was fine, casual and easy going. Just kind of rustic but comfortable once seated. Felt congested at the front and you're not allowed to stand there, which is no big deal for most, when it is conveyed in a hospitable manner. First off, get here EARLY! This place gets packed FAST and you'll be left waiting for at least an hour. Don't fret, it's definitely worth the wait. They have a rad little coffee bar section that has some insanely delicious sounded drinks. My daughter enjoyed a hot chocolate (she's 7). Perfect temp for a child, sweet and delicious. The food! Oh my gosh! First off the portions are insane! My two children had a meal of 1 pancake (both had chocolate chip) one had bacon the other sausage and both enjoyed fruit. Those pancakes were bigger than my children's heads!? And delicious. They nearly destroyed their meals. My husband and I shared the Six shooter with a lemon blueberry pancakes the gravy was absolutely delicious. Like..I literally could not get enough. The breading on the chicken fried steak was still crispy with all the gravy. The eggs cooked perfectly, biscuits were so fluffy and delicious. Don't sleep on the hash-brown casserole! Definitely better than anything Cracker Barrel has put out. My son ordered the Peacemaker..no complaints from him. He destroyed every single bite. His girlfriend had the Stagecoach minus cheese, also no complaints. So many leftovers and absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food is really good. The bun was grilled so didn't start to fall apart which is also good. The fries were even very well seasoned and were quite tasty. With that said we there was a few issues that I had. 1) when packaging, they put pickles in the container and poured the fries on them, so on one side, several fries were soggy and had that slight pickle flavor 2) the meat was over done.. They day medium well which is came out more well done so parts of it tasted slightly charred 3) I really wish they put sauce on the burger itself...I understand sauce on the side so it doesn't get soggy, but a light layer would keep it from tasting quite as dried out as it did and when you use a packet to put on mustard and such, it tends to clump as certain areas and it's hard to spread properly. Overall, though, burger had a good flavor and I wouldn't object eating there again, depending on what's around when I'm in the area read more

Almost like coming to a theme park! Wild, Wild West lives in this here town!! Rustic and charming place which has long lines on the weekends, I'm told. I didn't try their house coffee and was amazed at the wide selection of items on their menu!! Finally I settled on the tostada breakfast of Papi's Huevos with over easy eggs. It was good but I couldn't taste the chorizo whatsoever. The tortillas were crispy and my half avocado was a little surprising cuz it had its skin on. The chorizo was such a tiny bit that the refried beans and nacho cheese took over the flavor. The hash potato casserole was ooey gooey cheesy goodness but would have been over the moon fabulous if they added green chilies!! I was disappointed their hash brown potatoes were frozen packaged and they didn't use fresh. Our server was delightful and timely and I requested chopped fresh jalapeños which came out like nacho slices and were very spicy. Perfect! My sister in law had lemon blueberry pancakes as her side and those were fantastic! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and terribly tasty! Yumm. We had to wait for a table, but it was well worth the wait. The decor is distinctive but comfortable. The staff members were attentive despite how busy they were. I ordered the saloon lady, which came with eggs, meat, a side, and French toast. I chose the silver and gold French toast, which has strawberries and bananas. The french toast is exceptional, with a nice crunch on the outside. I also had smoked sausage (delicious) and the hash brown casserole. If you're familiar with "funeral potatoes" that's what this is and i highly recommend it. Cheesy potatoes, who can go wrong? Met a friend here for Saturday brunch. The greeter told us the wait would be 30-35 minutes, but we were seated in only about 15-20. They have a very efficient operation. Once seated, we were almost immediately greeted by our waitress. She was great - so polite and on point. She made sure we were taken care of without being intrusive. The kitchen was super fast. My omelette was perfectly cooked. This place is bustling on the weekends. Lots of families. So it gets a little noisy. But it's worth it! Front parking is torn up apparently for road work. Wow, what a menu and what generous proportions of food. We were seated and greeted right away and drinks came quickly. Took some time to go over the very extensive menu and interestingly enough with all of the choices my wife and I both selected the Mama's Quesadilla which is stuffed with scrambled eggs, any 4 of the fillings, plus two and & salsa & queso. Stuffed is the right word because this thing is huge and thick and easily two or three meals. My wife had spinach, onion, cheese and one thing I can't remember. I had Chorizo, jalapenos, tomato and cheese. Sides between us were Hashbrown casserole, fried potatoes, refried beans and cinnamon & sugar toast. Both potato dishes were excellent as was the cinnamon & sugar toast. The refried beans were very ordinary. The queso was basic yellow and not great, salsa was good, the chorizo in my quesadilla was bland. So, a few things we would not select again, but we will be returning. Place was busy for a Wednesday at noon and looked like just about everybody was sticking to breakfast items although a good lunch menu as well. If the flavor popped just a little more on a few of the standard items, it could get a 5 ranking, but on this visit could only give a 4. By the Way, we each could only eat half of our food and were stuffed so took the rest home and had it the next day for dinner and still didn't finish. When warming up the quesadilla, it was so thick with ingredients we had to microwave it first and then also put in in the oven to re-crisp it some. read more

OLDWEST CAFE lives up to its Yelp reputation. Good food, value for your money, great ambience, and efficient and friendly service. I visited Oldwest at the insistence of a friend while in Denton. Everything she said about it was true, in spades. First the food: I had my standard breakfast. Eggs, hash browns, sausage patties, and biscuits and gravy. All well prepared and with generous portions. She had eggs, hash browns, thick cut bacon, and a pancake as big as her head. While I was completely full I was able to help her with her pancake. Service was friendly, efficient and helpful without being overbearing. Although the place was packed at 10 am on a Thursday we were seated quickly. New to the very full menu, I was given ample time to decide. Food came out quickly. We never felt rushed. I also noticed that tables were bussed very quickly. And the ambience? Well, if you had any doubt about the theme, you would figure it out pretty quickly. Full blown western. Lots to look at and take in. A great family place for kids of all ages.
