    The ultimate burrito!
    Garry H.

For years, I've been searching for great birria tacos. I've had great in Abilene one time, the rest have been ok or disappointing. One of my DFW buddies reviewed El Taco H in Denton and bragged how good it was. Road trip time! Mike and I got there in time for a late lunch. Parking downtown can be a little tough, but we found a spot. I ordered the birria plate and Mike ordered a monster burrito. A quick picture and then it's time to eat. OMG! I have found my perfect birria tacos! They are crispy, and gooey, and everything birria tacos should be! The consume just added to the deliciousness! I managed to down two of them, everything else was leftovers. Mike managed to eat half of his monster burrito, said it was really good. More leftovers. I now have two reasons to go to Denton, Texas. My favorite Thai restaurant, and my favorite birria tacos!

Quick service and not super busy when we went. Food was good overall. Rice had nice flavor as well as the tacos. Elote was a bit heavy on the cotija cheese. Ambiance was rustic and open.

Went mid afternoon on a Saturday. Parking was a little tricky but usually is in Denton. Two ladies on the counter were helpful and very nice. We ordered taco plates. They come with three each along with cilantro lime rice and charro beans. Great street tacos the birria and Al pastor were awesome. The rice and beans were very good. Love the sauce bar in the back. Guac was also very good and the chips are seasoned very nice. Place is clean and well kept.

I came here for lunch recently and was very pleased. I had ordered ahead and my order was ready in the 8 minutes it took me to drive here. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. I had to order in person since I forgot to order a taco when I did it online. The cashier was very nice and my order was ready in less than 5 minutes. The service was really good. They have a large salsa bar that has water, ice, limes, jalapenos, and, of course, various salsas. I ordered the carne asada taco, the al pastor, and quesabirria. I was so hungry I didn't get to take any pics of all the tacos. The tacos were excellent. Now, they are small, as they are street tacos, but the flavor is potent in a good way as they're all well seasoned. The carne asada steak was grilled perfectly and had great flavor, and it was tender; it tasted great! The al pastor taco was also very good it was very tender, not dried out and tender and had a perfect pastor flavor. I like that they garnished it with diced pineapples. The quesabirria was very delicious, the meat was very tender and flavorful, and the cheese was just as delicious. The tacos are made of corn, and the tortillas were very high quality. I'll definitely be back! I

I've been struggling to find good tacos after moving here, but this place hit the spot! I appreciated how the birria wasn't overly greasy. Love how they have a salsa bar in the back - it was fun to experiment and see which salsa paired best with the tacos. Service was fast, and there's plenty of seating inside to enjoy your food!

Flavor town is back in Denton! Located just off the square, El Taco H is dishing out supreme tacos with excellent flavors. I recently happened to stop by on Taco Tuesday and much to my surprise, El Taco H exceeded my expectations. Given Denton isn't known for its establishments, El Taco H is a reliable option for Taco Tuesday specials. Along with Taco Tuesday specials, happy hour is thing. The most unique thing about the restaurant outside of the flavor packed Al-Pastor taco, has to be their extensive selection of salsa. El Taco H won't disappoint, definitely worth a try if you're in the Denton area.

If you enjoy a good atmosphere and great vibes I always recommend going to El taco H! The place offers great food and drinks. The service is amazing and it's worth the price!! Great spot for dates/family gatherings or friends.

Food and service were good. Didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive, though it was weird that that appetizer came after the tacos. We ordered: Birria taco, lengua, chorizo/queso? (I think) and another one with pineapple. Overall, I enjoyed the birria and the chorizo one. Couldn't try the one with pineapple (as I'm allergic). The lengua was okay, a bit dry imo There's a sauce bar in the back as well. Good variety there, though personally, I wish there was a spicer sauce (Haberno wasn't spicy) Will be back if I'm in the area!

Very cool ambiance, lots of neat paintings on the wall and decor that feels like you're being transported to Mexico City. Everything was very clean and the staff was welcoming as soon as we walked in. There is a whole bar with many different hot sauces at all different heat levels along with all the toppings if you want extra, including limes cilantro and onions. All the food we ordered came out quick and tasted phenomenal! The chips were seasoned a d the salsa was steaming hot and packed with flavor. One of the best salsa's I've ever had that perfectly balanced heat and flavor. The Suadero taco could have been a bit more tender but still was very delicious. All the tacos were dripping with juices and VERY generously piled up with meat and toppings. The margaritas were flavorful and not too sweet like a lot of places tend to be. We will make this a new staple when we're looking for street tacos. It felt very authentic and tasted incredible

Came on recommendation of some friends. A bit confused on how you order and no one greeted at door. But with that being said you walk in and menus are at door. Then step to counter and order and then seat yourself. Very open eating area and bar in the back as well as a salsa bar. Cute decor as well. Birria tacos were very tasty. Loved the cilantro lime rice and the beans. Chicken flautas were packed full and the crema on top was delicious. The best aguas frescas I have had in a while.

This place is off the Denton Square by a block or two. You walk in, place your order, and they bring you your food. The ambience is adorable. It was clean, open, they had an air conditioned area in an outside sitting area. You got to sit wherever you want. They had a relish bar with all kinds of salsa, limes, and all the accoutrements that go with street tacos. I did get the El Diablo margarita, probably one of the best margaritas I have ever had in a very long time. I also got the Carne Asada, barrita taco, with rice and beans. All of it was very good however I did prefer the Carne Asada over the burrita taco

Great food and generous portions. The aguachile felt fresh and they weren't stingy with the shrimp. Strongly recommended

Could this place accommodate a group of 50-70 outdoor? It would be for a rehearsal dinner associated with a wedding.

I've seen them accommodate large groups, but you should give them a call.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The guacamole tasted super fresh, the queso was flavorful and came in a generous portion, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The only small hiccup was the chips situation--they give you big portions of guac, queso, and salsa, but the chips come in a tiny bowl. (Literally 10 chips) very sad for 6 people to fight over so little of chips. Not a huge deal, just a bit surprising. Let me set the scene: I walked in expecting a casual meal and maybe a decent taco. What I got instead was a borderline spiritual awakening wrapped in foil and served with rice and beans. First of all -- the giant piña colada. When they say giant, they are not messing around. This thing arrived like it had its own gravitational pull. I'm pretty sure I saw a small family of tourists orbiting it. One sip and I was transported to a beach that doesn't even exist on any map -- coconutty, icy perfection with just enough kick to make me briefly consider texting my boss that I've moved to an island and won't be returning. Then came the beans. Listen carefully: I don't throw this word around lightly -- perfect. These beans were so good I genuinely paused mid-bite and just stared into the middle distance reevaluating my entire life. Creamy, rich, seasoned like someone's abuela whispered ancient secrets into the pot. I would trust these beans with my taxes, my passwords, and honestly my emotional well-being. And the corn tortillas... dear lord, the corn tortillas. I have had tortillas in many places, including at my own abuela's table -- and saying this feels like confessing a sin -- but these might be the best I've ever had besides abuela's. Warm, soft, slightly charred in all the right places, like they were handmade by someone who has been perfecting this craft since before I was born and possibly before electricity was invented. If I could build a house out of these tortillas, I would. I would live there. Happily. And then--just when I thought things couldn't escalate further--the huevos rancheros arrived. Eggs cooked to that perfect sweet spot where the yolk still has a little rebellion left in it, laid over a bed of everything that matters, all tied together with a sauce that refuses to be anything less than unforgettable. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you question why you ever settle for anything less in life. Comforting, bold, and somehow both rustic and wildly impressive at the same time. Everything else on the plate? Outstanding. Rice that actually deserves to be eaten and not just politely ignored. Salsa that sneaks up on you like, "oh this is nice--OH okay there it is." Service? Friendly, fast, and somehow emotionally supportive. Atmosphere? The kind of place where you immediately feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Final verdict: If you are anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Denton and you are not eating at La Fondita Mexican Restaurant, you are making a series of deeply questionable life choices. I came in hungry. I left changed.
