I saw this pop up on Door Dash the other day, and while it sounded familiar, I didn't exactly order because I had the highest expectations of food from a bar and grill. I ordered because if we want our local businesses to survive this pandemic and this cursed year, then we all have to do our part to support local and order when we can. Damn, that's a great burger!! I'm so glad I ordered from here. My husband and I both liked it so much, we ordered again the next day! Hell, I'm trying to behave myself, which is why we didn't order a third day in a row, lol. However, I found a great place to put in my order rotation and it definitely earned its place. Our first order we just got two cheeseburgers with fries. $10 each is the going rate, so I didn't bat an eye at the total, especially since that included a side with the burger. My husband was bummed they only had singles as he was craving a double meat burger. The burger selection is simple in it's choices and I believe there was a beyond option as well. When I opened the container, I thought it seemed a little small, until I looked at the side- that's a pretty thick patty! Let's talk about the details, I love the details. The cheese was perfectly melted around the patty, the patty was juicy and well seasoned and that brioche bun was perfectly grilled with crispy edges. This is everything I love in a cheeseburger, sooooo good!!! Thank you, Dusty's, for putting the veggies on the side. This prevents anything from getting soggy and allows you to have the toppings of your choice. The best part is that it was perfectly consistent when we ordered again the next day, same perfect burger! Even my husband, with his double meat burger preferences, found their portions satisfactory- I could only eat 2/3 before I was too full. The waffle fries from our first order needed some work, they were incredibly dry and were getting super hard as we were eating them. They were a bit light on flavor too, I got the distinct impression that someone was trying to prevent them from being too greasy and went a little too far. Like I said, the burger was so good that I wasn't too concerned with the fries. So we ordered again the next day and my husband, a creature of habit, got the fries again and I got the chips, thinking they would be house made. They weren't, I was kind of disappointed to see a bag of Lays there. So their alternate sides are Lays, Doritos and chips and salsa. I think I saw you could get onion strings and something else for an up charge, so not exactly a wide variety of side options. However, I'm so glad that my husband got the fries again because these were really, really good! They were hot, crispy and the perfect amount of salty. There was enough for us to share from his side portion and I'm glad I got to see the fries are good too. Things aren't normal right now, but when you're craving a good burger and fries, this is the place to order from. It almost makes you feel normal. :) 4 1/2 stars! read more

Had not been here since it was a hole in the wall but we decided to go for burgers. The burgers are good, the jalapeño burger had two sliced peppers and no heat! Speaking of no heat pass on the chips and salsa unless you like slightly sweet and not spicy salsa, flavor was ok but this was obviously made for yankees. The bottle beer was not cold by any means. I am not very familiar with this area so I was thrilled when I found this place on ubereats, finally, something that's not fast food! About 15 minutes after placing my order I noticed that my order was still being prepared (while by guestimate it should be being picked up) so I decided to call. Was told by a manager that they don't make food after 1am and that they can't cancel the order. I have a few issues with this, 1. The menu says it's accepting orders until 2. 2. Having spent some 15 years in the industry using multiple online ordering platforms, ubereats, door dash, grub hub, postmates, I understand how they operate. I understand it's a 3rd party issue at times, so that's why I called directly. 3. Hey, if you didn't see the order, been there done that, honesty is the best policy. Don't tell me that on your end you can't cancel the order because you didn't hear the notification or cant update the hours on your tablet, the order was accepted. 4. If you weren't aware, with Uber eats, the customer will not be issued a refund UNLESS THE MERCHANT CANCELS the order, remember though the manager said they can't do that? Not only that, it charges ME, my order twice, one for the meal and again for a cancellation fee. 5. So I got a notification AFTER I called, (and spoke to said manager, was told my order won't be made since it was after 1), (drum roll please) and that my order can't be cancelled because it was started. I know, I'm confused too. I mean was it or was it not? All in all I got in contact with Ubereats support, my meal was started, I was charged, even though I was told otherwise by management. Lucky to get one star . We went there base on their pictures of their drinks and food on their website. When I asked the barmaid she said those were at least 10 years old! It ashamed that they can't keep up to date! If the did nobody but the few that were there would go. We had 4-5 appetizers and the best part of those and the entire meal was the breaded mushrooms. Best burgers in Denton!! My favorite is the Outlaw burger with bacon and cheddar cheese. A thick patty, cheddar cheese, bacon, onion tanglers and bbq sauce with thick waffle fries. My guy got the classic Dusty's burger with waffle fries. They offer veggie patties or grilled chicken as substitutes for the hamburger patties. We washed them down with cold refreshing margaritas. The bartender Lizzy makes them from scratch. This place has the kind of dive bar feel I love. Pool, darts, full menu till 2am and a fun sassy staff. I love this place! read more

Nothing like a hole in the wall stop at the end of what we deemed Sunday Funday. A group of us spent the day out riding from Lewisville to Justin to Denton and this was the last stop of the evening. Dark and smokey with the occasional tin beer sign and the neon versions as well. Cheap beer and good conversation. What more could you need? If you do need more, it is a pool hall and there are darts as well and music pumping through the place via an electronic jukebox. It is also one of the few places left in Denton that you can smoke inside. So be aware of that. They had Shiner Octoberfest. So I was happy. Not much else to say about Dusty's but it is a place I will visit a little more often. Support Denton businesses. read more

I've come to this bar for years, but lately the staff have become hostile and angry, a few weeks ago I had one of the bartenders come to me and complain that I didn't tip enough cause they didn't see me put $5 in the jar earlier. Okay. First yelp ever. I'm a pescatarian. I just had their veggie burger. It's black bean based patty (I had it on their whole wheat bun). The BEST VEGGIE BURGER I'VE EVER HAD!! The atmosphere is definitely lacking as it is a dive bar but I find dive bars to be the best places. Their health department ratings were through the roof high, so I felt safe eating the food. The bartender was very nice, and offered me options as far as vegetarian foods go. We went at 5:30, and were blown away by their power hour from 5-6 where pretty much all the liquors (except for super high premiums) were only $2. Why only 4 stars then? I have been here a few other times, literally twice before, and those times the staff was very short and seemed flustered/frustrated. That said, our bartender today totally made up for it. Dusty's defines dive bar, with that old lovable cigarette haze looming over the pool tables and dart boards. At first stumble in, I'd probably turn right back around and walk out... but if you give it a few minutes (and perhaps strong drinks), you just may like it. Not a huge fan of the connecting door over to Hailey's, which has since become a dance/night club venue, but hey, it keeps it interesting. If you go late enough at night, there's no telling who/what you'll see go down. I'm slightly embarrassed to say it, but I think my main motivation to come here is for the bar food. And while I typically would not be filling my face with fried delicacies from such an establishment, I would highly recommend it here! Top 3 foods to get: cheeseburger, patty melt, chips & queso. All with a side of waffle fries, naturally. Get the burger. Okay, so would I consider myself somewhat of a burger connoisseur, so this is a bit weird to say, but this bar has the best hamburger I've had in Denton. Dusty's burger is just plain delicious. It's nothing fancy, simply made, but the patty was seasoned so, SO amazingly. Every few weeks I have a flashback to my first experience with this burger. I enjoy these flashbacks very much. Get the burger. They also have pretty good drink specials every day of the week, kitchen is open until 2am, and smoking is allowed inside. There's a couple pool tables and dart boards in the back. I will say that the crowd here tends to be a bit on the older side. Being a 22 year old dude, pretty much every time I walk in, I kinda get stared down a bit (think walking through the saloon doors and everyone gets quiet and stares at you), definitely not the most welcoming feeling. Then after being ignored some more, we went and sat at the bar. We had already been here like 15 minutes or so. It was not crowded at all. It was like we were invisible.
