I've been to multiple Rodeo Goat locations, and this one is every bit as good as the rest. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside, a great bar with a large selection of beers, and--without a doubt--some of the best burgers in North Texas. I'm a pretty picky eater, so the unique ingredient combinations on some of their burgers initially made me a little nervous. My advice? Trust the chef. Unless you have an allergy or a genuine reason to leave something off, order the burger exactly as it's intended. The flavor combinations might sound unusual, but somehow they just work. Every bite is packed with flavor, and the creativity is a huge part of what makes Rodeo Goat so good. One of my favorite things about Rodeo Goat is the Battle Burgers. Every month, two wildly creative burgers go head-to-head, and whichever one sells the most earns the right to stick around and compete again against a new challenger. It's basically burger fight club--and thankfully, nobody talks about burger fight club. I've tried almost everything on the menu, but 99.9% of the time, I find myself ordering one of the Battle Burgers. It keeps things fresh, interesting, and gives me an excuse to try something I probably wouldn't normally order. If you're in the area and looking for an incredible burger, Rodeo Goat should absolutely be your next stop. Great Burgers, But Weak Beer We went to Rodeo Goat in Denton, TX, to celebrate my son's 21st birthday, and the burgers were definitely the highlight of the meal. They were fresh, cooked well, and had an amazing flavor. Everyone enjoyed their food, and it made for a great birthday meal. Unfortunately, the beer was a completely different story. It was easily the weakest beer I've ever had at a restaurant. It honestly tasted like it had been mixed with water, with very little flavor or strength. Overall, I'd definitely go back for the burgers because they were that good, but I'd skip the beer next time. Maybe a Mediterranean style cuisine with shaved goat drizzled in tzatziki sauce with a Texan flair. I was wrong... but try gourmet burgers on for size. Burgers! Might I add- juicy, freshly made patties, and mighty tasty burgers! Man o man I loved the ambiance in a Friday evening. Came here with my son, who lives just across the parking lot at some urban apartments, and he was giving me his resounding endorsement so off we went. So glad I did! We both ordered the Bodacious Burger, layered in American cheese, bacon, heaping mounds of crispy onion, some grilled jalapeños, pickles, but I chose no BBQ sauce. Damn these burgers are thick thick thick and you can taste the homemade freshness with every bite. No frozen patties premade here. We ordered a single of hand punched fries dusted in parsley, salt, and Pepper. But, our waitress said it was enough for two, and she was spot on! Golden crispy fries were delish! I ordered their Old Buffagoat made with Buffalo Trace while my boy had a Vanilla Porter. You would think that all Rodeo Goat food would be consistent. However, it certainly is not! This spot in Denton is by far the worst of any Rodeo Goats I have visited. (Rodeo Goat in Plano and Frisco Texas are 5 star burger locations! Just saying.) Reasons: Ordered the queso and cheese dip. The chips unanimously were stale and old tasting. And to add insult to stale chips, the salsa has BEER added to it! OMG! Not sure how old this salsa was, but for food to bubble and sizzle on your tongue is an issue. That's fermentation! That's jacked up! Everyone had a different burger. All were different sizes. Another inconsistency. The patties were pretty small and were smaller than the bun. Not a big deal, but we all added additional items to our burgers. Jalapeños, pickles, and/or bacon. And of course every single burger was without what we requested. Burgers were still "just" ok even though we paid extra to customize each one. "Sigh". Attention to details can really make a difference. If you can't follow through with customizations, don't offer that as an option. This place is a fail. The only solid thing at this location is that the wait staff will take your initial drink order. After that, well you're on your own. You won't see them again till it's time to pay. I expected all RG's to be created equal and have the same standards. I was seriously disappointed. The hand punched fries are pretty good. Unfortunately, getting condiments such as something as simple as ketchup is pathetic. There is no teamwork here. Each server is on their own. Just an observation. Denton management is a huge fail at this location. Come-on. Y'all can do way, way, way, better. Especially, since there are additional burger joints in the area. Wednesday special is half off cheese fries! Both surprise (chili) and no surprise. It's a huge portion with bacon and cheese and jalapeños and it comes with a side of ketchup and 2 of ranch! They aren't cheap with ranch! Hubby ordered the chaca Oaxaca burger and gave it a solid 4/5 it had cheese, pico, an egg, everything yummy jammed into every bite! food was mid, service was worse. ordered a vegan patty on a burger that i didn't realize had a meat based broth, got served it and another server or food runner let me know it had meat and got me a replacement. i really appreciated them. then a long while later, the original server came by and said "didn't even think to mention the beef broth." didn't seem moved enough to say "sorry about that!" or offer a discount or anything. never refilled our waters, offered a diet coke refill, dragged his feet bringing that. dropped our checks and let an ungodly amount of time pass for him to pay us out. luckily the people i was with are better than me, i was super tempted to dine and dash, i had one foot out of the booth. luckily the server who helped me get a new burger was walking past and offered to pay us out. i'm in the service industry too and i have been for ten years, but this was just piss poor. we were super patient with this dude despite his awful attitude, dude you have to Try a Little bit. i've had him multiple times and it's never been enjoyable, but i'm for sure never dining here again. :/ read more

If you are new to the area, or here for a football game, this is a unique local chain that you should definitely check out. It's an upscale burger without the upscale price. Yes, you can get a plain ol' bacon cheeseburger (Royal w/ Cheese), and you can bring your Vegan friend ( Neil Young) too. They do make a great vegan patty, and they carry the Impossible patty too! My favorite is the Chaca Oxaca with chorizo/ beef patty with queso fresco, avocado spread, and a fried egg! This one's hard to beat! You can also choose from the most recent competition... there will be 2 chef-inspired burgers battling for dominance by sales... and the best of the year get to fight for a place on the permanent menu! The place is a little loud and fun, and is a great place to bring the kids! The place is famous for burgers, but the salads are completely worth checking out too (if you've had too much Carnivore Diet this week)! A last minute date at Rodeo Goat with my wife made for a pleasant surprise, albeit quite messy dinner. It's been open almost a year now in the old location where a Cajun place was, next to BJ's and across the street from Chuy's. The complex list of burgers can be a little overwhelming, but my wife felt like the closest thing to a normal cheeseburger with mustard on it was the DCC, which we found out stands for Denton Country Club. Thick tomato cuts, pickles and mustard highlight this gem. Very great flavors but, fair warning, if you try to cut it in half it could just become a mess. I ordered the Chaka Oaxaca burger which features a chorizo mixed burger with a fried egg on it. Concept is fantastic because egg on a burger is one of my favorites and it comes with chipotle mayonnaise on it as I prefer mayo over mustard. Was a fantastic burger with a couple of downsides though. The egg was busted prior to arriving to me so the yolk had dripped down the bread to the bottom, which then made it the bun sticky and actually peel off on my fingers (eeeewww). Again makes for a mess man those thick chunks of avocado pair so well with the chorizo burger....but as advertised it's definitely a fiesta in your mouth. Those two burgers with a side of fries came to about $31 and my they check out on a hand held device so my wife said she left 20% to the very friendly and helpful waitress. No matter what people say, it always helps if the staff are smiling and appearing as if they are happy to have you dined with them. Never gets old. This restaurant used to be one of my favorites the food is still great, but the service has really gone downhill. You can see the servers standing around in the kitchen chatting while tables look around trying to get someone's attention for drink refills. The managers are nowhere to be found. It's frustrating because the food deserves better representation, but bad service will destroy a business. I actually had to go to the bar for refills, and at one point, the bartender even told me to help myself. I really hope management turns things around, because this place used to be amazing. First time trying with a group of friends and it was a fun experience. The burgers are pretty hefty and they have sooo many options thag it's almost overwhelming. Thankfully the server told us about the "build your own" that wasn't on the menu and that was very helpful. The burger DOES NOT come with fries so you do have to order it abut they are pretty yummy. They're crunchy and the seasoning is decent. I'm not a fan of black pepper on fries but they made it work with the other seasonings on it. This location in Dentin has an indoor outdoor seating that's was nice for the decent weather. Burger (chopped iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheddar, mayo and mustard) and a side of hand punched fries. The service was swift, burger was cooked just right, and fries were on point. I was so excited to visit rodeo goat because I heard all about the deliciously creative burger options. My family and I picked out 3 amazing options and they came out hot and freshly made! No complaints at all at first. We all ate silently in enjoyment until I took a bite out of the second half of my burger and pulled back a long strand of SOMEONE ELSES HAIR! It was mortifying! I was thoroughly enjoying it until that happened, and then I completely lost my appetite. I'm indifferent on if I will go back or not, as sanitation is extremely important to me.
