The pastoral and serene countryside of Flower Mound's Cross Timbers District is where Circle R Ranch calls home. This sprawling estate is able to accommodate lots of guests (vehicles included) for all different types of functions. Everything about the property is ostentatiously southern, which might seem kitschy to non Texans, but for locals it just feels comfortable and familiar. Since I was there for a banquet, the first thing I have to talk about is the food. It seemed only appropriate that barbecue was on the menu with things like brisket, smoked sausage and baked beans, all served buffet style. While it was respectable enough, the quality was closer to Dickey's or Spring Creek than more authentic Texas barbecue. I thought the bread pudding they had for dessert was a good choice since I don't see that very often, plus it was very tasty. This place also has several built in bars because at social events people need their adult libations! There were only a handful of options available, but frozen margaritas was one of them, so that totally made up for the small selection. In addition to special events and private parties they also host market days open to the public. For that they have local vendors selling their goods along with other family friendly activities, such as pony rides, a petting zoo and rodeo. I went here for a corporate event. Our event was held in the Western pavilion. There were four different bar areas, a game room and some additional games located outside. It was a little cold there, so I did not go outside to the patio area. However it was very spacious. There was also a star with a live band and plenty of dancing space. There was also a basketball court available, as well as what appeared to be a campfire area. It is sufficient space for big events. The bathrooms were also clean, which is a plus. While I don't know the logistics of booming, as it was a corporate event, everything was well organized. read more

Went here for a school field trip and had a great time! Will say it is quite rocky and can be somewhat dangerous. The water slides, don't know if they were offered from circle R or my school, did seem very dangerous. One girl broke her arm and a lot of people were getting whiplash from it. One activity that was somewhat boring/bad was the maze. Could be user error but it was scorching hot, so many people in there, and somewhat difficult. Getting out of it was the best part. The indoor part was nice and the food offered was delicious. Drink selection was relatively limited but all and all it was fun. Would recommend!!! read more

I had the pleasure of attending my arbonne team dinner here! First we were welcomed with smiles! She staff was so nice! Then dinner time. I have allergies so I asked the chef (he was standing right outside so super easy) about my options. Little did I know everything was marked with easy-to-read allergen labels! Vegan, vegetarian, gf only disappointment was bbq sauce wasn't gf . Music, games, rosco the bull. I have an off grid ranch in eastern Colorado so most things "country" don't impress me because well I live it. But this was well done. Only wish band wouldn't played more classic country than pop. But the food was awesome. If you can go for drink specials. I have to do a gf grain option which is top shelf and $15 for a single. Ouch. read more

A super fun place to throw a conference "After Party." I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun this place had to offer. When I saw it on the agenda for the conference I figured it would be small bites and a bit of country themed music / dancing. However, they had much more to offer than I thought! We arrived via bus and it took about 15 minutes to get there from the Gaylord. They had buffet style food out and it looked really tasty. I mistakenly ate prior to going as I assumed small bites, but I heard good things about all the food. They did indeed have a band playing country music, which was lively and fun. They even led a line dance at one point. After the band left it moved to a DJ who played more main stream music, so there was something for everyone. About 3/4 of the way through the evening they hosted a rodeo show outside with bulls and cowboys. It was fun to see the horses and you could get up close and pet them if you wanted, after the show. Downside? The wait for drinks. If you wanted something other than sode, you would have to wait a fair amount of time at the bar line. Average wait was around 10-15 minutes, so most people were ordering two at a time to avoid waiting again. Overall: A Great venue with lots of fun offerings for a conference send off. read more

Circle R Ranch is where I attended a Christmas party for the second year in a row. The staff was super friendly. The place is huge, with several buildings filled with music, food and fun activities. It has a western flavor for the décor and very spacious for large gatherings. The foods were a number of appetizers from small taquitos, hamburger sliders, chips and salsa to wings that were pretty tasty for such a large gathering. The food I would give about an eighty five out of a one hundred. This night they had live music, another building had a DJ, while another building had food - drink - and casino like games. I went to a work function at the Circle R Ranch while traveling and I can't say enough good things. The staff are so hospitable and make sure everyone feels at home. The night began with meeting Amigo the Longhorn! We were serenaded by a real life cowboy. We then had classic BBQ (steak, chicken, corn, corn bread, potatoes) and then played a corn hole tournament ( they had so many corn hole boards!) Don't leave without taking the wagon ride around the property to see the beautiful land and wildlife. There's also a mechanical bull and lasso lessons! Such a fun place!! read more

Circle R does a good job of hosting corporate and large group entertaining parties. They will help create whatever theme you want and have in house catering. They have fireworks shows, rodeo shows, music, swimming, hay rides, trail rides, and more. What makes me NOT like Circle R Ranch is how poorly they treat their animals. Bad food and/or not enough food for horses and cattle. Not keeping horses regularly trimmed or shod. Not grooming horses. Not providing medical care to horses or cattle. Not providing shelter to horses and cattle. Having muddy boggy areas for them to stand in. All these things are not excusable and just plain awful. Shame on you...that's just lazy and greedy. Those animals help you make money and you can't give them proper care? Backwards...to say the least.... read more

This is a cool place. The day we went was raining all day in Dallas. But for some strange reason, it hardly rained there! It can handle a couple of thousand people... This was for our company picnic. There was plenty of seating and plenty of food and drinks... BBQ and stuff.... They were not serving beer.... but that is a good thing because there were alot of children there. Several bounce houses.... a couple of DJ's.... face painting, balloon making.... dancing.... Not bad for $5. I hope we do it again next year! read more

We had small group of about 60 folks attend dinner at the Circle R ranch...they can handle groups in the thousands! Even with our small group, the staff gave 100% and we were greeted with with warm Texas hospitality. The few days before the event, it rained so much that we were not able to participate in the outdoor activities offered including horseback running, horse shoes, fire pit, etc. but it looked like fun if we could do it. My employer held a corporate event here for our Super Bowl guests. It was a great experience for a lot of the people with kids. They had a mechanical bull and they also had a photo setup with a Texas Longhorn. They did some cool little dude ranch activities but, it was snowing and icy so most of the events had to be moved inside. The best part of the entire event was the food!!! The BBQ was amazing especially the smoked sausages. I had about 3 plates of food and it was just too good! Afterwards they held a charity poker event for all of us. I just threw my birthday bash here and it truly was an amazing and memorable experience. The Bbq Buffet was some of the best bbq in Texas. The Brisket was tender and moist, the chicken had a smoked taste and the sausage was fantastic. My planner Hillary title should be changed to event planner guru of the South. She was professional, responsive and pleasant from start to end. The service overall from the banquet team, bartender even the cowboy who tirelessly tried to show us how to rope a mechanical steer was outstanding. I've been coming to the Circle R for years now. One of my favorite times is he 4th for fireworks. Food is excellent and the Staff is all very friendly and have a great handle on events! Several of my friends have had weddings, birthday parties and even large elite parties for any occasion. I would highly recommend speaking with Hilary. I ran into a scheduling conflict and she more than went out of her way to take care of me and my group of 100 or so. We are a black LGBT group and unfortunately, its not as easy to find friendly service in TX but Circle R Ranch can teach Texas a thing or two about what true hospitality looks like. I think the facility is nice. The problem I have with them is the amount of money they keep when an event has to be cancelled. I had to cancel a small reception for 50 people. I cancelled on July 8th, the reception was Sept. 21st. They keep 75% of a 5100 dollar deposit. I believe 75% is in excess. Circumstances come up that are beyond our control, I don't feel as though they should cash in on other peoples grief. read more

She contacted all of our vendors making sure everyone was on the same page. She also handled all the timing for the reception from when dinner was served to first dance to the cutting of the cake.
