My husband and I eloped in Hill Country in November, but our parents really wanted to celebrate with us so we hosted a post-holiday cocktail reception at our home that quickly turned into 75 people. Needless to say I was stressed to the max, but Kathy Thrush and the team from Eddie Deen's Catering took care of everything from start to finish. Kathy basically planned the menu & not only was it delicious, but arranged beautifully. They even brought their own kitchen and generator!!!! I was beyond impressed with the staff! The food was amazing! We received so many compliments on just the food itself, especially the brisket queso, crabcakes and sliders station. There's no question in my mind that Eddie Deen's is the best catering company in the DFW area. Based on the other reviews, it sounds like there were certain items on the menu that were less than stellar to some, but Kathy definitely got it right when she recommended the items we included on our menu(Passed hors d' oeuvres, mini sliders station, build your own nachos station, and fruit & cheese display). Visited this place and really enjoyed their barbecue and atmosphere. They have amazing ribs and an even more amazing sauce which really makes their ribs even more amazing. The atmosphere is really homey and Texas with a ranch style feel, you will enjoy the hospitality and ambiance. I was in Dallas for a work conference and one of the evenings was being hosted at the Eddie Deen Ranch. The venue was very big so it was spacious which was good. The bartenders were nice and attentive so no complaints there. The food was good...at least what was left of it. this is the part that I didn't really understand. I believe only half of the whole company had gotten food when they started already running out of salad and some of the other entrees...and somehow they weren't able to bring more out until 30 minutes later? I mean i get it, we do have a huge company so it was a lot of people to cater to...but isn't this a catering company? I would've thought that they would have been prepared for that many people. I can be more understanding with the barbecue (which was good, so props for that) but salad?? why does salad take 30 minutes to bring out??? It was just frustrating when you get in line 30 minutes from when the event started and 1/3 of the food is already gone and not being replaced right away. I had Eddie Deen Catering at my son's Birthday party. I had the all american. It was the best ever. everyone love the food. we have used Eddie Deen for family gatherings. Eddie Deen catering staff have always been 100% on top of everything and has always dressed sharp. our family have tried most of the food. it has never been bad. My husband's holiday work party was here and it was fine. Food was actually pretty good; my husband loved the brisket, I thought the chicken was nice and moist, sausage was flavorful. The whole atmosphere is a little hokey but that's obviously what this place is all about. Venue was large, but it would have been nice to have an area set away from all the "action" in case you need a break or want to chat or something. All the staff was super polite and professional. Bathrooms could be nicer. I wouldn't book an event here because it's not my style but I would gladly go if I was invited to something here in the future. read more

We thought this was the best bbq we had while visiting Dallas. We were there for a conference and got invited to a vendors party and were so glad we did. There was a live band, armadillo races, a mechanical bull, and an Oklahoma bicycle race. I had chicken, brisket, sausage, beans, and ribs. It was too die for. Went here for a work dinner event. Really cool place. The space is very big and has various different little areas. The mechanical bull, live band, and sofa area all add to how it's got a little bit of everything. The food was super yummy! read more

My company, Keller Williams Realty in Burlingame, CA, hired out this place for the night and I have to say, coming from England, and living in California, I've NEVER been to anything like this before. I had a riot! The atmosphere was awesome, the food was great, there's plenty of room to dance and my team entertained themselves riding the bull and participating in the other things that were going on there. I attended a conference in Dallas and our group picked this place for our night out. I could not find one person in the group who had a bad time. Known for their East Texas BBQ, the venue is also an outstanding facade of a tiny Texas town and perfect for a relaxed and casual Texas-themed event. The food was awesome and the service was good. We've used Eddie Deen for quite a few events at work. Every time the food has been wonderful. Everything is tender, seasoned well, and very flavorful. We've done the Uptown Supper a couple of times and everyone agrees (250+ people) that it is delicious. Staff is professional and does a great job. Wow. I know this place is country but WTF? The staff is unkept and look like they came off the street at this place. Dirty uniforms, shoes, etc... We were part of a convention conference there and all I can say is yuk! the bathrooms are aweful and covered in grafitti. Nobody will refill your drinks. You have to get up and walk across the room if you want another glass of tea. Way overpriced for cheap food. Our tickets were $50 each and the meal felt like it was worth about $5. I hope I never have to eat here again as the dirtiness of the place makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I don't even think they have one. AWFUL. Stay clear. We purchased a murder mystery Groupon to attend this dump. As we parked, the attendant chased a homeless man off the lot. Upon entering the warehouse, I promptly approached the bar for a drink. Immediately, I was re-directed to my table to wait for a waiter. I munched on bag salad and drank country time lemonade. After 45 minutes of terrible acting, no waiter, no food, and no alcohol, I couldn't take it anymore. When I asked the wife if she would like to go, her eyes lit up and she happily agreed. The only way to try this joint just south of the Dallas Convention Center is to attend and event at the Ranch, or go to an Eddie Deen catered event. Deen boasts presidential clients, so I was excited when I was invited to a political event at the ranch. My first impression of the decor was Texas kitch. Sadly, the fake old west main street facades inside must be what defines "Texas" to too many out-of-town conventioneers. The line snaked around to buffet tables full of cole slaw, potato salad, brisket, sausage and chicken. I sampled a bit of each meat, and none were a standout. The chicken was moist and tender, but had just a touch of smoke flavor, and not much else. The sausage was straight grocery store grade, and barely deserves a mention. Brisket wasn't terrible and requires a caveat. Brisket is best sliced just before it reaches your plate, but in a catering environment, brisket needs to be sliced ahead of time for quick serving. This creates dry slices, but this can be overcome with superior flavor. These dry slices were missing that superior flavor, along with any smokiness, even in the crust. The texture was a bit tough, and the slices just weren't very enjoyable. My guess is that the fanfare is due to the fact that Eddie Deen can cook up decent, if not great BBQ for a huge crowd, and not many folks can do that. Just don't expect exceptional 'cue if you're invited to the Ranch. read more

Being from Texas I really wanted our conference attendees to have a true Texas experience and Eddie Deen's delivered!!! The best BBQ in Dallas!! The food is top notch! I haven't had pinto beans and potato salad that good in years. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our attendees really enjoyed themselves.
