Please read the entire review, as there are both positive and negative comments…read more Ever After Chapel in Aubrey, Texas has charm and unique character. The building is 150 years old with original wood, windows, and flooring. The chapel itself needs little to nothing to have a beautiful ceremony. I would recommend you ONLY rent out only this portion of the venue. If you choose to rent out the entire place for the day please continue to read. Lets begin with the parking, very limited and there are no designated signs where the parking is. It is a grassy field on the southwest side of the chapel. The outside (yard) has great twinkling lights and a firepit (you need to provide your own wood.) You are able to use outside vendors, DJ, and photographers. If you rent a dance floor you must use the one Judy (manages the place) states. With that being said, the floor installers came the day of the wedding and placed the floor down in the area under the lights. Judy did not like it there and had them pull it up and move it over. It was then uneven with many ridges sticking up. We felt the guests would trip and the structural engineer stated it was a hazard too, but Judy wanted it there. Judy is the person we did all our communication and contract with. She made it appear that we would have free range to set up as we saw fit and there would be onsite help. This was absolutely not the case. I will bullet the following things you need to be aware of if you choose to use Ever After Chapel. $3000 for chapel and back yard, plus $150 for rehearsal for 1.5 hours Inside Room(IR) for cake/food/etc, lights worked on only 1/2 of the room. Bride room, no lights, no air AC was not on or did not work IR was very dirty, live and dead bugs present IR no running water IR you are unable to move tables or any furniture. This made thing VERY difficult IR bartenders/caters NOT allowed There are a couple of other items to consider when using this venue. Tables and chairs for reception are very dated and many were held together with gray tape; they need to be replaced. There is no assistance with set up or breakdown. Website states "You make the choices, and we take care of all the details," "Our wedding packages eliminate the stress of putting together your special day and eliminate the added expense of an outside wedding coordinator," Not true. Judy was onsite the entire time and was very intrusive and made setting up very difficult at times. Examples to follow: During rehearsal she wanted everyone to remove their shoes Had the dance floor removed to a less level area Wanted/tried to have the wedding party come in the chapel in the order she suggested Sat in the room, monitoring the IR, made us feel very uncomfortable. Should have been on site if she felt it necessary, but in an office or somewhere, not with wedding guests. Gave our photo booth installer a very difficult time about NOT wanting to move 2 chairs that were not needed in the area of the booth. At the time of the reception, stated why we didn't get security since booze would be on site. This was NEVER mentioned verbally or on the contract. Structural engineer was called out twice. He was at the wedding with his dog. Judy provided some good suggestions to where the DJ should set up, as well as where the guest book should be. Overall, I wish I would have known several of the bullets prior to selecting this venue. The Chapel is quaint and I'd recommend that portion ONLY, if you are willing to pay $1500.

We wanted the…read morefuneral in Justin and the church next door could not accommodate us on the date we needed. So we walked over to The Country Abbey on a Sunday afternoon. The door was unlocked and we walked in and met Naomi. We talked to her for a moment and immediately booked the venue for the following Friday. This was our first funeral but not our first event to plan, and I have to say Naomi was quite possibly the most accommodating vendor with which I have had the pleasure to work. As an Interior Designer, I asked to rearrange some furniture and she made it happen. We asked for extension cords, items to help with the AV equipment, late meetings at the Abbey the night before to drop off cases of beverages and additional items we needed for the funeral service, and Naomi could not have been nicer. She never said "no". Who meets you at 10 p.m. to unlock the doors so your event the next morning will go smoothly? Naomi! Regarding the space, the "chapel" is just the right size - not too small and not so cavernous that it would look empty if the head-count was low. The backdrop is clean and uncluttered with no religious imagery or symbolism. The reception space was completely set up with the items we requested when we arrived 2 hours early for our event. Everything was clean and we lacked for nothing. Saying goodbye to our father was hard enough and we didn't need any more stress preparing for his funeral. There are dozens of things that have to be done that you might not think of, and Naomi made it virtually stress-free. Any time I need a venue in Justin, it will be The Country Abbey because it was such a positive experience.

I can not say enough good things about Sarah and Naomi at the Country Abbey. Our original wedding…read moredate was supposed to be 05/01/20 but due to Covid we had to change our plans quickly. Sarah (the coordinator) contacted me and worked with me to reschedule our wedding date for Oct/2020. It was such a stressful time for me but Sarah made it so much easier. Any time I had a question, concern or anxiety, I could always email, call or pop in for a visit to the Abbey and she always eased my fears. She offered so many ideas when I was unsure of how to do things and she and her team decorated the Abbey so beautifully for our wedding. I wanted a simple, clean and rustic look and she put it together perfectly! Our ceremony went off without a hitch because Sarah made sure everyone knew what they were supposed to do and say. I couldn't have pulled off this wedding without Sarah and her amazing abilities. She treated me like I was her only client even during the pandemic and when there were many other brides dealing with the same thing I was. Also the price for the venue was extremely reasonable and the cheapest I found anywhere! I highly recommend the country Abbey for your wedding, it was everything I had hoped for and more! Thank you Sarah!!!

They were quick to email me back on any questions I had and reassured me everything was in order for the big day. The wedding went off without a hitch and the officiant was super accommodating and very nice. I (the bride) had a wonderful experience, and my guests were also treated very well. The officiant was very flexible and encouraging to make this our special day. He was also professional and funny, and took amazing photos with great lighting. He knows his stuff and gave us an incredible experience for a "quick 20-min wedding" - the other reviews also mention this, but there was a lot of care into their work. If you're on the fence, go with Dallas Wedding Officiants!

The BEST Courthouse Wedding Alternative in Dallas!…read more We couldn't be happier with our experience at Dallas Wedding Officiants in Las Colinas. If you're looking for a simple, affordable, yet beautiful wedding ceremony without the stress of a traditional venue or the cold feel of a courthouse, THIS is the place. From the moment we booked online, everything was smooth and professional. The officiant was warm, genuine, and made our short and sweet ceremony feel personal and meaningful. The indoor chapel space was intimate and elegant -- way nicer than we expected for the price! What really stood out was how much care they put into making it feel like our special day. They even took photos afterward around the scenic Canal area, which gave us gorgeous wedding pictures without hiring a photographer. If you're looking for the best alternative to a courthouse wedding in Dallas or Irving, especially near Las Colinas, this is 100% it. Quick, classy, affordable -- and way more memorable than getting married at the county clerk's office! Highly recommend Dallas Wedding Officiants to any couple wanting an easy and beautiful elopement or courthouse wedding.
