We chose the vendor package, which included the in-house photographer, and DJ among other things. While the convenience was appealing, several issues occurred throughout the day. To start, our centerpieces only covered 8 of the 10 tables. This may have been an oversight on my part, so I'm not placing blame on the venue for that. The ceremony itself was beautiful, but there was an issue with the music for my entrance. I chose the same song for both my bridesmaids and myself because there was a specific part of the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. I had previously asked the wedding planner if the music could be looped if timing ran long, and she assured me it could. However, while waiting in the bridal suite with my dad, I heard the part of the song I was supposed to walk into come and go. I was later told that my niece and nephews took longer walking down the aisle. I completely understand that kids will be kids, but this was something we had discussed beforehand to prevent exactly this situation. Our photographer did a good job overall, though we are still waiting on the final photos. However, he forgot about the "first touch" moment I had planned with my husband until one of my bridesmaids reminded him. At the reception, there were multiple issues with the DJ. He switched the entrance songs for my husband, myself, and the bridal party. We used the provided app to carefully create our playlist, but it seemed like it was not followed closely. He also did not fade out the songs for our first dance or for my father-daughter dance as requested. Once open dancing started, he began playing songs that were not on our playlist and that many of our guests did not recognize. Overall, he seemed unprepared. As for the wedding planner, she was helpful during the planning process but did not seem organized on the actual wedding day. We had arranged for a coffee cart during cocktail hour. When the barista finished for the evening, he prepared a bag with coffee items for my husband and me for the next day and said he would give it to the wedding planner. However, the wedding planner left once dancing began. When we were leaving, we remembered the coffee and asked my mom to retrieve it, but she couldn't find the coordinator to ask about it. If one or two small things had gone wrong, it would have been easier to overlook. But the number of mistakes throughout the day left a very disappointing impression for both my husband and me. If you are looking strictly for a beautiful venue, Aristide is stunning. However, based on our experience, I would not recommend purchasing the vendor package, as we did not feel that our plans were executed with the attention to detail we expected.

There were red flags before the wedding- Athena stood us up on venue walk thru appointment, had to…read morecontact assistant only because Athena would not respond on their communication platform for weeks, had to remind Athena to schedule meetings to go over details a week before the wedding. During the wedding, Athena came up to bride and groom on 3 occasions to tell us issues going on. Didn't correct the musician, who played the wrong first song. I was 20 minutes late to my ceremony because Athena left me without any means of communication in the bridal suite and told me to wait (had to send a venue staff to ask her what was the hold up). Didn't ensure the photographer pulled us for golden hour photos. She left early saying "I'm not getting paid to clean" to another vendor and left her assistant who didn't ensure all vendors finished before the venue closed, which cost us our security deposit. Her contract ensures the bride and groom will not lose deposit for this specific situation (vendors leaving on time). She lost rental items from another vendor, which almost cost me that deposit as well but during our honeymoon was able to locate the items and mail them to the vendor. She refused to reimburse the security deposit from having vendors leave late from the venue and alleged she left early because she had allergies. Then had her husband email me that if I tried to request my security deposit he would go after vendors they felt were at fault for not leaving on time. All my vendors worked incredibly hard, I wouldn't want them to lose income knowing they did their best. I post my review because I would hate for another bride to have this experience. You hire a coordinator to avoid all this stress on an important and expensive day. This coordinator truly disappointed us. Coalesce Creations is not worth the cost and added stress.

I sent out for some quotes initially and everybody was responding with ridiculously high figures for a day-of coordinator (that's not to say they weren't all worth it--I'm sure they would be--but they just couldn't and wouldn't work with our budget). About 30 minutes after I emailed Earthling, Miranda had already emailed me back with their full listing of prices and what came with each. Their pricing was insanely budget friendly and the professionalism of a quick, informative response is a huge draw for me so we set up a meeting via Skype. Within minutes of our meeting beginning, I knew Miranda and her team would be a good fit. She was able and willing to add time because we needed some extra setup and was extremely upfront with us concerning how much time we would need and how to make things work. From then on out, she was a tremendous asset to our wedding. If I had any issues finding a vendor, she would find out our budget for the vendor and start checking her resources for someone who would meet what we wanted for how much we wanted. She made time in her schedule to meet with us whenever we came up to Dallas (because we live in Houston), even going out of her way to do so. She met with our venue director and was there for every step of the way with us. She was such a calming and helpful influence. If I had to do it all over again, I would absolutely hire her again because she was just...phenomenal.
