I love the sandwiches so much....have for decades. I live far away and make a special effort to go out of my way when in the area. The tomatoes are always perfect. The bread is incredible. The menu is exactly what I like! What is horrible is the slicer man's terrible attitude towards customers. I have been in the service industry for almost 40 years....I get it, customers are awful. However I was nice, engaging and beyond polite. He rolled his eyes and shook his head at the order in front of me. He glared at me and shook his head at my perfectly placed order. When I said 'thank you' he didn't reply but rolled his eyes. The boss was at least polite, and even counted my change back, a wonderful customer service trait. This is a good sandwich shop with many extra add ons. Wheat bread is fresh most of the time. The biggest issue is twice I have seen workers go to the restroom wearing their disposable gloves and coming out wearing them. They don't seem to understand that the gloves need to be thrown away and hands washed after using the restroom with fresh gloves back on. Makes me think twice before eating here. read more

I love this place! I've been here multiple times since I moved to Denton a few months back. I was drawn to the location by their sign outside which says "35 years" and was intrigued. I prefer to support a small business when I can, especially one that has persisted like this one. They are one of the few places that seem to still have reasonable prices amongst their chain competitors, and they don't compromise on quality. I am so irritated at myself for living close to this place for 15 years and just now checking it out. I think I assumed this was just another chain, but I was wrong. All this time I could have been eating cheaper sandwiches served by such nice people, at an establishment coming up on their 30 year anniversary! Whyyyyyy Manda?? My husband has been on a sandwich kick lately and he wanted to come here Sunday. We pulled into the large parking lot that is shared with Burger Time Machine and noticed the lights were off. We could see their operating hours sign from our car, they open at 10:30am every day, it was only 10:06am. We started to pull away, but I saw a gentleman heading towards the door and waving us in. We did go in, but felt weird about it because we didn't want to cut into their prep time or rush them. Both people working (a gentleman and a lady) assured us they had finished early and were just cleaning up. Note, the restaurant already looked really clean to me, so they do a good job of that. This is a small, no frills place with a simple menu and plenty of seating. They have a good variety of sandwiches and meat selection, but not a huge selection of bread if that's your thing (just white and wheat). You can also get salads, soups, pickles, chips and potato salad. I noticed cookies at the register, but didn't notice the cheesecake (with the option to add cherries) on the menu until we finished eating. I must have been getting sick or something because I normally have outstanding cheesecake (dessert in general) radar, grrr. Here the sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, onion and oregano, unless you request otherwise, plus they offer an oil & vinegar dressing that was pretty good. Additional toppings are $0.25, and you can get bacon, avocado, extra meat or cheese for $0.75-$0.95. The gentleman who helped us made really good recommendations and had very engaging customer service. The prices are shockingly low! Most of the 6 inch sandwiches are under $4! The most expensive sandwich I noticed was the footlong steak and cheese for $7.15! Now the gentleman did mention he normally raises the prices around the beginning of the year to account for cost and stay in line with the competition, but when I asked he said it's usually around 10%. So instead of $3.80 for my 6 inch tuna, we're talking about- maybe $4.18? I think I'll live. Of course, if you are one of those people that piles on all the toppings and asks for every extra in the store, it could add up and potentially cost you an additional $4. However, I don't actually know anyone who gets more than 4-6 toppings, so I'm not sure how likely it is that someone would add more than $1.50. I think a quarter for a topping is pretty reasonable considering the base price. They have a huge selection of chips, not just the same handful of boring options you see at every other place. They also had family sizes too! I got some Baked Ruffles (Sour Cream & Cheddar) and my husband got the Honey BBQ Frito Twists. I really appreciate the options! Chips and side items are really cheap too, so the entire menu is a good deal! The only caveat to that is if you have dietary restrictions, I don't think they have gluten free bread and if you're vegetarian or vegan, you'll have a limited selection. My husband and I both ordered 6 inch white subs, I got the tuna and he got the pepper beef and cheese. We chose the normal toppings, minus the onions, no extras. We each had a bag of chips and then split a large sweet tea. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and left satisfied. I enjoyed the experience even more knowing we both got full for $12.05!!! That's exceptionally cheap and I love a good deal! Sometimes my husband likes to make Scooby Doo sandwiches with extra meat and cheese, even if he can't finish them, so I'm expecting our future visits to range between $11-14 max, for both of us. While we were there, and later when we were passing by, it was clear that they have a lot of regulars and are fairly popular. I'm really glad to see they have a strong customer base, I have to make up for all those missed opportunities. I love that I found a good sandwich for a great value!
