The Side Bar is a true diamond in the rough of what is Lawton, Oklahoma. The owner(s) is definitely not a local and why he would live here is beyond me. It's only when the clientele open their mouths do you realize, "yup, I'm still in Lawton, Oklahoma." The bartenders are not just cute but actually were attentive (more so than many places in Dallas) and, considering it is Lawton, Oklahoma, know what a Manhattan is as well as an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately they served without rye but I don't hold it against them (looking at you management/owner) because I was immediately told about it. I'm looking forward to asking for a sazerac or a cosmopolitan on my next visit so hopefully they have the goods. The Lavender Bubble Bath and Blue Lagoon had so much attention to detail on presentation. The Lavender Bubble Bath came with a little rubber ducky and a sprig of lavender bathing in a ceramic bathtub of foamy egg white. The beautifully blue Blue Lagoon was delivered in a small fishbowl complete with Swedish Fish candy. I enjoyed both my drinks and my friend enjoyed her Blue Lagoon. It's like the rye bread was grilled in a dry skillet and there wasn't much dressing inside the sandwich, if any. They served this with a side of ketchup so I used that to try and moisten it up. Thousand island would have been better. That said, I was very thankful they made me a meal.
