Two young ladies explained that while their restaurant next door doesn't open until 9 am, they share a kitchen and offer a breakfast and lunch menu with open seating. Super friendly, laid back and attentive. Awesome. We both ordered the Trinity Bacon Melt with avocado and chose fruit as our sides. I love well cooked bacon - full pieces, not too crispy and not limp. Yum. Same for the avocado: robust slices. Come packing your appetite as these sandwiches were hearty! I was happily stuffed and ready to tackle our long drive back to Denver. No lunch needed, haha. I'd love to stop back into Trinity Street, especially on a sunny day like today and a little later in the day, to sample their cocktails. The space is absolutely gorgeous with rich woods, cozy seating options and even an open air outdoor space. A hidden gem for sure. Loved it!! Stopped in for brunch, on our way to buy a horse trailer. Cute little town Decatur. Shops are closed on Sunday but this place is worth the drive. Brittany our server was super nice, answered my questions about which Benedict was the best...even though she doesn't like poached eggs. She suggested the brisket but I just had to try the crab cake, I have to say it was DELICIOUS! It was a thin crab cake but not too thin. The hollandaise was light and lemony perfection. I was nervous about the egg because it was more firm but it the inside was soft and runny. No salt or pepper on the table...not needed, perfectly seasoned. I tried the bourbon latte, the flavor is so good. Highly recommend but it could have been a tiny bit hotter. The Honey got the burger, he said it was great! He liked the remoulade but would have liked a little more but not enough to say anything until his last three bites. The fries were seasoned perfectly and had me coming back for a few more stolen fries. Service excellent. We have always loved stopping at Trinity Street for the BEST coffee, but we enjoyed dinner there recently. What a great meal! Jay, our server, was awesome. Ambiance is lovely. Great drink selections. We had the short rib with risotto, chicken fried steak, and mashed potatoes and broccolini. We also ordered a bread pudding and cold brew to go. Everything was delicious and portions are huge, so we had leftovers. We will definitely be driving back to enjoy a meal, as it was better than many places in central DFW. It used to be fantastic, but recently they changed some things about the food and didn't tell anyone from what the employee told us. We had the avocado toast and normal it's a huge slice of sourdough, but this time it was a little piece of gluten free toast and it was the butt end. And we had the spud bowl which was my favorite to get but they changed the potato from like hash brown style to potato wedges just wasn't as good as it once was. First bite was great but every bite after was worse than the previous. Couldn't finish the first taco, tried picking through the second one, no good either. The brisket was so fatty I couldn't eat it, and not the juicy fat that's sometimes mixed with chopped brisket, this was hard grisley fat. Wow just wow! This was a phenomenal dining experience on the restaurant side of Trinity Street. First of all our server ,Kayla, had to be one of the best servers I have had in a long time. She was a true gem. She answered all our random questions about dishes and even pulled her phone out and showed pictures of some of the specials and appetizers. She was engaging and you could tell she truly was just a kind person. And we love when a server jokes along with us about something. Now the food was top notch also. The risotto appetizer was delicious ( I do wish there were 4 instead of 3 for sharing with another couple ) and the brisket dumplings were so unique and tasty. I had the shrimp and grits which were some of the best I have had even from very high end restaurants. Our group of four kept raving how the food quality was so unexpected just like a high end restaurant in Ft Worth and even better due to the cozy atmosphere of the entire place. We loved the partially exposed walls with original building showing as if it was a painting hanging up. And the mattress spring lights were so creative. We did have dessert and drinks and all were delicious too. I had the St Nicolas Aprerol drink and really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back here even though we live in Keller! We ate at Trinity Street with a large group. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and our server Scarlet was fantastic! I loved that they had multiple gluten free options including bread for burgers or sandwiches! I had the brisket enchiladas and oh my! They were so good and spicy, I forgot to take a pic before I dug in! My husband is not a big brisket fan and he loved these! Our friend got the burger and we couldn't believe how huge it was! Food is really, really good. I can't believe that we've lived in the Decatur area for over a year and just now heard of this restaurant. The service definitely needs a lot of work. For now, I think we'll just get orders to go. Pros: Excellent food. Perfectly poached eggs. Real hollandaise sauce, not from a powder (yuck!), good ice tea and thankfully, they don't serve the tea with a spoon in it (again, gross). Clean menus. Good pricing. Cons: Hostess asked us for part of our table so they could seat a big party. So we scooted over to the other side and she took that part of our table. Awkward. Ordered french fries with the burger and it took asking two people for them after the burger was served. Finally arrived after the burger was almost finished. Had to ask two people for catsup. This has got to be, in my opinion the best coffee shop in the Dallas Fort Worth area. It's a hidden gem. It's a nice little drive for me to get a cappuccino in the early evening after dinner. But if I want a Manhattan, an old-fashioned or anything else they've got it. It's a great little getaway. It's unlike any coffee shop you've ever been to. Need a muffin or a pastry? Business travel took me through Decatur, TX yesterday. One of the local businessman suggested Trinity Street for dinner, and what a great suggestion it was. The staff was very friendly and professional. I asked for a gin & tonic, and the server suggested their Empress 1908 gin which I'd never had nor heard of. It turned out to be a great start to a fantastic dinner. I ordered the salmon and edamame and corn succotash which was excellent. This place is located at the town square which is quaint but beautiful. This is a great place for travelers or a great place for locals on a date night. read more

I get that they make everything to order but we asked for extra toast for our appetizers and it came out with our dinner, my daughter wanted two more chicken tenders (kids meal comes with 2) and those came out with our pie. Met a cousin here for brunch over the weekend. I was a bit hesitant to dine here when first entering because I only saw a group of 2 with their children seated. The restaurant is cozy and very welcoming. I was immediately greeted upon entering, seated and provided with a menu. I thought that lunch would be offered due to the time ( 1:30pm) but was okay with brunch . I asked the server for recommendations for sweet and savory. She stated that the menu didn't offer that but did give suggestions. I ordered a spuds something that had hash browns, cheese, choice of 2 meats( I chose ham and sausage) with 2 eggs, pancake on the side and a French 75. The meal was DELICIOUS! I requested hot sauce and added it just for a kick of spice but overall nothing was needed. The French 75 was less than desirable and I think because of the budget alcohol used. Ambiance is nice. Food and service had issues, big time. Came on a Saturday night. We sat at the table for ten minutes before anybody even came over to offer us water. We found out later that there was a wedding going on next door, and that wait staff was running back and forth, but nobody told us that for a while and so we were left just feeling like nobody knew we were there. We ordered appetizers and drinks probably 20 minutes in. Appetizers were good (Cajun fritters) and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable when we wandered over to see us what they had since nobody had waited on us. The waiter freely gave his opinion on everything - including things we didn't ask about. The entrees were a different story from the appetizers. We ordered the chicken fry and the blackened redfish. Due to some other big issues, we hadn't eaten at all that day and were famished. So, it was disappointing when the food came out. The chicken fried steak had a pool of grease right in the middle of it. Turned it over to get rid of the grease and the breading just fell off in two big pieces. The steak itself was overcooked and dry. The gravy was tangy and unpleasant. The redfish was a salt bomb. After scraping off the seasoning layer, it was passable. The rice and Cajun sauce were also salt bombs. Once the waiter was told about the chicken fry issue, he never returned to our table. Never refilled our water. Never asked if we wanted another drink. Mr. Full of opinions was mute and nowhere to be found. When we were done, he came back to bring the check and said he took 25% off the price of the steak. Gee thanks. That really restored the quality of the dinner. Not. Anyhow, we were excited to find this place, but we won't be back. read more

Trinity Street is a great coffee spot, they have fun seasonal menus and interesting drinks to try. I love their Lavender latte they have in spring and the blueberry lattes in summer. The inside of the place is super cute and there's indoor seating as well as a patio on the back. The buns were not the standard type of buns, they are nice and warm. Bacon jam is def thick cut which I love! French frys were slightly hard waffle frys Bourbon Caramel Custard for $7 is okay, they used good ice cream and it was not too sweet for a caramel dessert. the Base of the custard contrasts with the vanilla perfectly. Worthy of going to if you want to check out a smaller town Texas square!
