And based on his recommendations, I'd say his palate was ON POINT! I ordered the truffle fries and blackened fish tacos, and both were delicious! I also had a cocktail with gin and lavender bitters (or something lavender-ish ), and it was really good and refreshing. My husband ordered the fish of the day, which was some type of red fish served with a caper sauce and mashed potatoes. He said it was REALLY good--and judging by the empty plate, I believe him! Then came the pasta bolognese... and that's where things went downhill fast. The ricotta was completely flavorless, the meat was tough, and overall the dish lacked seasoning. It was honestly one of the most disappointing bolognese dishes I've had. One more thing that really stood out: the interior has carpet flooring. In a food establishment, that feels deeply unhygienic and off-putting. 1/5 stars -- a strong start with the appetizer, but the main course and overall experience completely missed the mark.

I remembered him from a prior experience doing something similar. WHY does the Ritz keep this person with multiple reviews complaining about him? 2) Takes too long to get food. I have been coming here since it opened and the food has always taken a long time likely b/c of the positions of the kitchen but it now takes a long time and it's simply NOT good. Edamame was cold with some weird chilly seasoning and zero salt, sushi was subpar, the chicken bites were flavorless and greasy, the $30 burger was OK but the fries were cold and soggy. 3) The atmosphere: at one point they had live music, now they don't and they don't even play music if at all/that is audible so it's such a boring/lame atmosphere it doesn't seem like the people who work there even want to be there. You have to flag people down to get any services. The decor is gorgeous but that is it. Sadly this is one of only two indoor dining options at this Ritz-this is supposed to be the mid level experience as the other option is a fine Italian Steakhouse. Makes me wonder how this resort is going to make it.
