The karaoke guy is also a very nice gentleman. The stars go down because the karaoke guy will move you down on the list and let other people get pushed in front. I get wanting variety, but some people can't stay. I don't sing! Ha! But my crew does. We get there early, they stick their songs in knowing we are leaving in a couple of hours. We stayed late because my friends came out of town to see me. They kept putting more and more people in front of my friends, we left at midnight with oily one of my friends singing one song. She put in 3 songs.. Anyway, it's a bad practice, you never know where people are at and what's going on, so to skip them is pretty disrespectful. Also they never start the karaoke at 8 as advertised. It's whenever the guy wants to start it.

The next night, I went to a show at a different venue. This show was amazing. Needless to say, the show that got me hooked was by Totally Twisted Karaoke or TTK. Having been to karaoke shows all over the Metroplex as well as out of town in the three and a half years since, I can tell you this continues to be my favorite karaoke company in the area. The show is run efficiently so that the maximum number of people can sing -- no sitting around listening to recorded filler music between singers. KJ's are friendly and encourage people to sing, though I will put in a personal plug for Keith, having been to about three times as many of his shows. Selection of music is fantastic, not only in English **but also in Spanish**. They get in new songs all the time and if you ask for a song they don't have, they absolutely will get it so long as it is out there to get and legally available. You can believe there is a special place in my heart for each of the songs that they have gotten over the years at my request. :) Picking a song is easy, too. Forget fumbling through a big binder of faded pages in tiny print. If you like choosing the personal way, talk to the KJ. But my favorite is the ability to search their entire database of songs either by title or by artist and sign up for as many as I want all at once. I can sign up for all my songs of the evening at one time if I like, or go sign up every time my turn is coming around. In fact, there's no need even to get up... They have a setup where you can pick your songs wirelessly from your phone once you're in the venue. About those turns: fair rotations with the list posted on the screen for everybody in the place to see. None of that nonsense where a KJ skips a friend ahead of others or lets somebody go additional times in exchange for a big tip. You get your turn in the same order every time, with duets counting as the turn of both people. Have been mostly to public shows -- both in bar settings and in family-friendly restaurants -- but the private parties for which they've been hired have been fun as well. All the ones I've attended have been of drinking-age adults; however, they also are hired regularly for parties of teens and even daytime parties of little kids. Prices are quite reasonable and I've never known of any party hire that ever regretted the decision. I know I sound like an ad, but believe me, I've never been paid or compensated for any review I ever did. This is the way that I write, the way that I've written since I was a kid, and the reason I'm going on and on about TTK is that they are the reason I am a karaoke addict today. They have given me nearly 4 years of good times, up to 5 shows a week when I'm off in the summer, and although I'm doing this to return the favor, it's also a little selfish... The more public shows they have, the more chances my friends and I get to go sing with them!

The Lavender Bubble Bath and Blue Lagoon had so much attention to detail on presentation. The Lavender Bubble Bath came with a little rubber ducky and a sprig of lavender bathing in a ceramic bathtub of foamy egg white. The beautifully blue Blue Lagoon was delivered in a small fishbowl complete with Swedish Fish candy. I enjoyed both my drinks and my friend enjoyed her Blue Lagoon. She didn't care for the Just Peachy as much, finding it a little too strong. But she did enjoy the peach garnish it came with. She asked the cook and he agreed to make me something. I had a patty melt with home made chips. The chips were very good. The patty melt was hearty, but dry. It's like the rye bread was grilled in a dry skillet and there wasn't much dressing inside the sandwich, if any. They served this with a side of ketchup so I used that to try and moisten it up. Thousand island would have been better. That said, I was very thankful they made me a meal.
