When I was there, they offered their standard menu plus a summer one. I ordered the Lavender Bubble Bath and the Old Fashioned (rye substitute) and my friend ordered the Blue Lagoon and the Just Peachy. The Lavender Bubble Bath and Blue Lagoon had so much attention to detail on presentation. The Lavender Bubble Bath came with a little rubber ducky and a sprig of lavender bathing in a ceramic bathtub of foamy egg white. The beautifully blue Blue Lagoon was delivered in a small fishbowl complete with Swedish Fish candy. I enjoyed both my drinks and my friend enjoyed her Blue Lagoon. She didn't care for the Just Peachy as much, finding it a little too strong. But she did enjoy the peach garnish it came with. I was not too crazy about the chicken apple sausage, but that could be a personal preference of mine, but I really enjoyed their fresh fruit, the sausage gravy, and the banana walnut combination with the pancakes . My husband also liked that house potatoes and said they were fresh, crispy, and well done. Overall, we would give our first dining experience there a five 5. We apparently are not the only ones that like it because it started getting crowded not long after we arrived. We hope to eat there again when we are out that way.

Good food, good conversation, and a comfortable atmosphere have a way of creating them. We started with two Seafood Gumbo Cups. The gumbo had shrimp and crawfish, and the seasoning was just right and full of flavor without being overpowering. A great way to start the meal. I had a small cup of steam rice to add to the gumbo too. The atmosphere was another pleasant surprise. The vibe was relaxed, the staff was attentive, and, most importantly, we could actually have a conversation without fighting through a wall of unnecessary background noise. For our entrées, my friend ordered the Chicken Schizzle with grits, while I ordered the Etouffee. Yes, Etouffee (I believe that's French, and no, I don't speak French) I asked what it was. What I do speak is good food, and this was delicious. The Etouffee was rich, flavorful, and satisfying. I enjoyed every bite and definitely found myself savoring it rather than rushing through the meal. We had iced sweet tea and regular tea, although I'm sure they have some excellent drinks as well. Overall, this was my first visit to Gogo Gumbo, and it definitely won't be my last. Great food, good service, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place where you can actually enjoy the company you came with. What truly set this restaurant apart was the service. It was some of the very best we've experienced at any restaurant.
