Thanks Yelp, for once again leading me to an awesome place. Ate here after hiking Eagle Mountain Park. Had beers and played darts (free) while waiting for some delicious grilled/ blacked catfish (with some special toppings and sauce) and brisket tacos. The house salad is really good and they make several of the dressings in house. This is high quality food, better than places like Chef Point, IMO. Our waitress, Alex, took great care of us. I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. On side of hwy and looks like a hole in the wall from outside. Once you walk in, it is nicely dimmed lighting, great country/family feel. The food? Hands down amazing country cooking with lots of heart. The employees are incredible and the cooks love their art. My other half had the meat loaf special to die for. I had the blackened catfish and my jaw dropped how perfect it was. Green beens were amazing and side of pinto beans I could eat all day long but of course won't...gas yah know lol. Band they had, see pics, was over the top as we came back that Wednesday evening to see this great group. A spot on my list everytime I am up this way. Well we ventured out of our usual path and met a group over at this place The other reviews are pretty good explaining the bar cafe atmosphere One table had a game of dominoes going proving from the reviews it is the locals watering hole Bar area reeks of ash trays Back patio area people were smoking but it didn't reek of ashtrays I got up and turned on the numerous outdoor fans which made it fairly tolerable to sit outside Food I had a club sandwich it was good lacking on sandwich meat cheese lettuce but it was not bad My son had a cheese burger said it was very good Wife had a chicken wrap and she said it was a juicy The rest of the group all had mixed drinks beer etc The waitress was very attentive to our table If you are out on a drive or ride out this way it would be a great change of pace from the franchise places read more

My motorcycle riding buddy and I have passed the Blue Bayou Lounge many times and wanted to stop in. Either we were just riding or Covid had them shut down. Today we decided we were riding just here to make one more attempt. Lucky for us it was open and always a good sign when you see cars in the parking lot for lunch on a Wednesday. Riders love to eat and we say we "ride to eat". That pretty true. I've heard good things about the food here. We met our waitress and sat down in the lounge area. I will say that it's much more bar than grille. The lighting was pretty dark and right away we had smokers at the bar with their smoke coming across our table. Neither of us are smokers. I don't usually say anything and didn't this time but I sure wish they could put some type of circulation system in to prevent smoke from affecting other customers. Now the beer was super cold and waitress so friendly. Of course I checked with Yelp to see what was good before ordering. I picked the Club and had onion rings. My buddy ordered a burger with onion rings. We had heard about the onion rings and wanted to see if they lived up to the hype. Didn't take long for it to come out. Here's where the food made a big difference. My Club sandwich was AMAZING!!! The bread just a little crispy and it tasted just as good as it looked. I'm going out in a limb to say that it's one of the best Club sand who I've ever had. Oh, those onion rings were on point! Crispy and every single bite had so much flavor. Unbelievable lunch. My buddy raves about his burger and rings as well. You can't go wrong with a great lunch and y'all beer for under $20. I have to say their amazing food is what brought them up to 4 from what I planned to be 3 . This place deserves 5 star but that cigarettes smoke is just so annoying to non smokers. I just left this joint with my mind blown. It's a bar, next to a trailer park, so let's be honest, expectations were low. I grew up in places like this, it was like 1989 and I loved it! My son had the patty melt, that he usually orders at the eagles nest, and said the bayou wins hands down. 4 different bread choices, lower price and was better food. The waitress/bartender was very warm and took great care of us. I had the club and it was incredible, I could only eat half and got the rest to go. Long story short, if you can handle a smoky bar, and like good food, go check it out, if the smoke is a deal breaker, sit on the patio. read more

Good food and drinks. Been here a couple times before and enjoyed myself immensely but I was a little put off by the guy that came in with his child then proceeded to let him wander around without supervision. And there's no full door to the kitchen-- saw a cat wander in there. Good burgers, though. Up to you if you're ok with underage kids and cats. read more

We went on a Saturday afternoon to have some drinks, and we ended up back there that night. They have such a fun environment. It reminded me so much of the bars back in the small town I'm from. Saturday night...looking for something new..went based on reviews of food.. What a great little dive! Yes service was a bit iffy but not rude!..just so busy and live music was great but loud so hard to hear and busy ! We had fried shrimp ( yummy!) and fried catfish great too! With real homemade onion rings. All were hot and fresh! Ordered the delicious caramel apple pie à la mode when we ordered our meal. We had to ask for it because they forgot it, but I need to say that we were here less than one hour before the kitchen closed! OMG, Go for a drive or ride to this place, u wont regret it. A friend and i took off from work an rode out here just to have a few beers, but i also got something to eat and i'm glad i did. Look people, i know i say if ur in the area u need to stop by, but i'm tellin ya, u need to head out just to go to this place. It's a dive, but a nice dive. They have a front porch and a back patio. They even do their own bbq ribs and i'm here to tell u there great. Nice weekend comin up and it's a nice cool country ride/drive. So giv'em a visit and live a little. read more

Not that busy.....seen it much busier......waitress was more interested in this guy sitting at the bar then waiting on customers......No draft beer....this has never happened.......had to pay $3.75 a bottle. Super disappointed :( went in to make a to go order and I ordered the chicken friend chicken only to get home and realize they didn't put any gravy on it or in the bag. Now I'm left with dry potatoes and chicken. Green beans are good. *after eating a small piece of the chicken I realized it wasn't fully cooked and still pink on the inside. I originally gave this place two stars due to them allowing smoking inside. I realize now that was too harsh. I am very sensitive to smoke and that is why it bothers me so much! They have delicious food, a great atmosphere, live music, pool tables, darts and a few other games. You can bring your kids in until a certain time. Get the jalapeño things! You won't be sorry. They have a nice patio but you have to walk through the inside where they smoke. Great local establishment. read more

Outstanding food, and such a great bargain! We started going there for the $15 ribeye, baked potato and salad on Saturday nights. But now we've branched out, and order the blue cheese burger, ribs and chili dogs. Everything we've ever ordered has been delicious, and you can't beat the prices. All of the food is made from scratch, served hot and fresh, and one of the best bargains in the area. The servers are all friendly, and the drinks are strong and very reasonably-priced, too. I love sitting out on the back patio or the front porch...the patio has fans in the summer, fire pits in the winter, and a beautiful view of the canopy of trees behind. Saturday night was my second visit and will be my last. We were one of three tables that were occupied on the patio and there were only a few customers inside but for some reason the kitchen claimed to be backed up with orders so it took over an hour to get our food. Then when we did we receive our order, it was terrible and appeared to be frozen food that was not cooked properly. To top things off, the owner was the one who delivered our food with an attitude. She has no business dealing with the public and I can see why so many people in the area refuse to patronize them. read more

There food is very good. People from our neighborhood go there multiple times a week for meals. They have live music a few days a week and a nice patio. My dad loves their salads. My girlfriend and I decided to try the Saturday night Ribeye special, this place was a giant disappointment. Took us 15 minutes to finally flag down a server to get menus and our drink order. We ended up waiting for another 15 minutes before we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. This place is completely understaffed and ill equipped to handle the volume they have on a Saturday night. Would not recommend coming here unless you're a regular, otherwise you won't get served. read more
