Bridgeport is full of great options for Mexican food. This is one of the best the town has to offer The food is priced reasonably, & everything I've ever tried is delicious. I get the chicken enchiladas generally. Chips are good, their main salsa is okay, could use more flavor and thickness. The bottled sauces are delicious though The service is always friendly It has a pretty big, shaded patio out front, and the inside is relatively small, but has a bar with large, flat screens with games on I've heard their drinks are great too, but I've never had any. The hottest food truck in Bridgeport is now a Brick and Mortar. The waiter was fantastic and friendly. The beans were excellent. The chips and salsa were really good, and the queso was okay. My wife had the quesadilla with Guac on the side. I had the chili relleno. The word of the day is raw onion. It's in the salsa. It's in the Guac. It's the main component in the quesadilla. They are lightly blanched in the relleno. If you are not a GIANT, and I mean HUGE... are you following me.... I mean ENTIRELY DEVOTED to the Raw Onion.... please, let them know when ordering. I'm not sure if bad customer service is their thing or what but if it's not then they have some serious work to do. I came only for a pick up quesadilla which was pretty good solid 4 stars of not 5 but with that service I question even returning. I was so bothered when I was there I forgot to order a desert. Oh well someone else wanted that money. I'm not sure I'll be back but if I don't it wasn't a problem with the food. The owner of Baja up the street knows my name and greets every guest. This is a very small dive of a Mexican eating establishment. The salsa is amazing. They give you a nice round dish with salsa in the middle. The menu is very small. The burritos were delicious. I had the nachos. The refried beans were gross. I asked what type of beans they use, they say pinto, but that's not correct. The beans look like baby vomit The service was quick. So I always feel that good chips and salsa are foundational for a Mexican restaurants. Friends of ours brought over their left over chips and salsa from Tako Libre, wow! So good. If their food is as good as their chips and salsa this place has got to be great. Bridgeport is a little far but they are known as a great destination for Mexican food. Finally! Moved here from San Diego a couple of years ago, and haven't found a decent taco or burrito. It's here! I had the three taco plate, one Carne Asada, one Carnitas and one Pollo. The Carne Asada was fantastic, as was the Pollo! Service was fantastic. As far as Ambiance, the place was empty (@noon). Don't understand that! So glad that it's not TexMex. Very disappointed. First time customer here. Wife and I stopped in and were not impressed. If you like food from a can, this is the place for you. If you like your canned food overpriced, this is also the place for you. If you like non authentic made food, you're still experiencing the same taco shop. Service was slow, food cold and canned, fresh food was hard to come by here. We will never be going back as paying customers. It was so gross, we paid our tab and left the food behind. This place has good potential. Still new so give it some time. I had a beef torta with fries and it was good. My partner however wasn't too excited that his Taco meat tasted like it had been cooked with fish ‍ He still ate it but they need to get some kinks out which includes turning down the A/C...mam it was toasty inside. This is not Tex-Mex, so don't be surprised if it's different from what you are used to. If anything, it's the soul food version of Mexican food. Menu is limited: tacos, quesadillas, tortas, burritos, and oddly, two kinds of hotdogs. Tacos are good, with lots of meat options. The burrito I had (Pepecasas?) with carnitas was great: big, flavorful with a side of charro beans and avocado (very tasty!) I think chips and salsa come with everything. The salsa is tangy but not hot. The accompanying sauces are kinda hot and very hot, but I have a fairly high tolerance, so use with caution.
