We loved this throwback restaurant. The prices were good and so was the food. My hamburger was huge but it was really good and I finished it all. The kids had chicken strips and French fries and loved them. We got a hot fudge sundae for the girls and I had to taste it of course. It was crazy good. The girls ate the entire thing. There was tons of memorabilia all over the walls with statues of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe inside. The service was great. We spilled some lemonade and the waitress was so nice in helping to clean it up. It's a very fun restaurant.

Stopped in due to the name and photo's found online. The atmosphere did not disappoint! The place is very nostalgic to wander through and look at! But, don't go for the food. We had the Saturday all you can eat fried catfish. Worst catfish I've ever had, and I've had a lot. I don't think they know what seasonings are. We sprinkled on lots of salt and pepper to try and get something to taste edible because we were both starving. The pinto beans tasted like ranch style beans. The coleslaw was just off. I only had one bite and it tasted like it was going bad. The tastiest thing was the hush puppies, which I assume were frozen. Definitely stop in for the cool decor, but just have some ice cream and go somewhere else to eat.

    Retro fun atmosphere

Food was absolutely amazing! Ambiance is fun oldies retro and they nailed it. Service they are so nice smiling and want to be here. No bad attitudes here 10/10 would recommend

First things first, DELICIOUS AS HELL! Second, the service was great, we went here for my little brothers birthday and had a blast when the original Scooby doo intro played! There's all you can sing 50's music that fits the vibe in every way, not to mention miss Monroe with the classic fan pose in the middle of the diner. Prices are quite decent too. Recommend if you want to go somewhere for a themed part, girls night out, bachelor/bachelorette part, or even just to have fun with the family! The workers are even in theme with the restaurant, it's awesome. It's super colorful inside like one of those I-spy books you'd read at recess in fourth grade.

My monkey was attending church camp so we drove 2 hours to drop him off. On the way there, I saw this place and the old time memorabilia caught my eye. A few days later we picked him up and he was out of the movie Nel he was speechless, burnt, and full of bug bites but THAT appetite was still there. We stopped at the restaurant and sure enough this 80s kid went Back to The Future. The servers were dressed in 50s motif and very friendly. You are totally consumed by the posters, black and white TV's, life size statues of Marlyn & Elvis. Monkey aka Nel ordered chicken strips, Mother of mokey Raspberry chicken our little rhino had kids portion chicken strips and my big belly saw the all you can eat catfish so as Betty Boop said boobo bidup CATFISH it is for me. Our server was nice and efficient with providing us with information from the menu. The portions size are awesome and worth the price. The chicken strips were huge not your regular processed size with easy breading. The Raspberry chicken was delicious according to monkeys mom. The catfish had no flavor but with pickled jalapeños and tartar sauce it made it tasty. It was all you could eat and bringing the portions took time (insert the look Lurch gives in the Adams Family) We had room for something sweet so we shared a warm apple pie and brownie Sunday which were scrumptious. The apple pie is made in-house in a warm skillet. We drove back 2 hours satisfied and Nel fell asleep in the car on the way home. If you are in the area and you are looking for good eats and nostalgia in mind Yesterday is for you. The cost $64.74 plus tip

The whole restaurant had really cool decor. I was in town for a birthday trip. We actually ate there twice. Their Brownie Sundae was pretty amazing too! We were there. The customer service was beyond excellent everyone was so friendly. I will definitely return if I ever visit that town again!

Truly authentic 50's American diner from the decor to the food! Fantastic food! The Tuesday special was"Mom's meatloaf" and it was as good, even better than my Mom's meatloaf! And all the fixins too. The best part was their special apple pie with brandy butter sauce. WOW! And we don't really like apple pie! The root beer float was just like I remember them. The service was very friendly and personable. We told them it was our first visit and everyone was actually excited to introduce us to the best items on the menu. I will return as often as possible to try everything!

The menu leans heavily toward comfort food classics like meatloaf, lasagna, and shepherds pie, but lighter options like a chicken ceasar salad were also available. The desserts were definitely the highlight of our meal. Like the other menu items, the dessert portions are HUGE. My daughter and I split a piece of coconut cream pie, and we still didn't finish it. An amazing view, rustic atmosphere, and wonderful service rounded out the experience. If you're passing through the area, don't miss this place! I can't figure out why it wasn't packed to the gills.

We got the meatloaf, king ranch chicken, two teas and one desert and it cost us $54. And for that price we got served on flimsy paper plates with plastic forks. The food was less than average. We didn't finish our food and declined a to go plate. The cheddar biscuits had no flavor and were not warm. For desert ,we got the apple "crisp" which was not crisp at all. It was very mushy. Thank goodness we got ice cream with it. I am posting a picture of the Apple crisp. There is certainly a lot going on there. We stopped on The Junk Store (as they call it) and the sign was correct. We were not impressed and will not be back. To answer your response, the words "delicious" and "great" never left our lips. Our 9 year old got the classic cafe burger and it was also huge and delicious and those FRIES... We also got the Texas Two Step which is slices of jalapeño and onions deep fried... sooo good! It took 7 minutes to bring us menus and take our drink order. When the drinks finally came 5 minutes later, it was short the request of lemons. Then it took another 12 minutes to take our order of which we were informed that they were out of the "some" food and did not have the daily special today. We ordered what we always get: Crispy Chicken House Salad with extra Ranch and Biscuits N Gravy with Bacon and 2 fried egg whites. At the top of the hour our food came to the table and much to my surprise, the huge biscuits that the red star used to have have been replaced with ping-pong ball sized biscuits..... cut in half and served with water gravy, not creamed gravy, and three very burnt pieces of bacon, not crispy, but burnt. And of course, the egg whites which were fine. When I attempted to cut the biscuits with a fork knife, you could not cut through them because they were old and stale and not heated at all. I told the waitress that I couldn't even cut my biscuits and that they were old she took my plate and had them remake my meal. So while my beloved ate his food, I was waiting for mine. When my second plate came, it had three biscuits cut in half way more gravy egg whites were great bacon was undercooked. And I sent it back to be cooked to crispy not burnt. When I cut into the biscuits, this time, half of them were edible. The others were still old and stale and uncuttable. The gravy was not your grandma's gravy like it used to be and the flavor didn't even resemble gravy. As for my beloved salad, he said that the ranch dressing was not their normal ranch dressing. It was watered down and sweet like they had used miracle whip. And they did not bring his breakfast burrito to go. The waitress completely forgot to place that order. I don't know what has happened to the Red Star, this used to be our favorite place to eat when we came to town. Wondering if ownership or management has changed? Because this is not the Red Star we know in love.
