Today I went to work out, and afterwards I made a decision to go to Black Bear Diner to eat. This is my second time coming in. I'm at one something that was hard, healthy nutritious and also have some protein in it and on the menu I see where they had a cob chicken salad, see picture above, and the salad was very good and fresh bags were tasty. The tomatoes were very good but onions were real good bacon was real crispy and the chicken was cooked just right I just wanna say thank you once again staff and management at Black Bear Diner. I went to have breakfast this morning, and was hoping for a nice easy meal The waiter showed up promptly and was pleasant enough. My order was taken and a drink brought. All good so far! I ordered 2 eggs over medium, bacon, and for a treat I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast. What did I get? 2 pieces of bacon, one almost raw while the other was burnt. 2 eggs scrambled and the aforementioned cinnamon French toast. I ate the eggs, because I love eggs. Any eggs. They were good. The bacon was adequate. Again who doesn't love bacon with their eggs. Even burnt or barely cooked. The cinnamon French toast was sweet. Too sweet to be honest. It has well over 1,100 calories in it. I felt that I had to investigate these at least once. But I won't order them again. They didn't live up to the hype especially with all the sugar I used to go to the Black Bear diner in Norman, Oklahoma, and never had a bad meal there. I enjoyed my first experience at Black Bear. It was busy when we arrived but we were able to be seated within 15 minutes as a party of 5. We all enjoyed our fresh squeezed juices. That was definitely a highlight of the menu! I personally ordered the Shasta Veggie Scramble. It was just okay. I've heard about this place from several people and really wanted to try it.So me my wife and my mom decided to make the trip.We got there and it was a little crowded but not bad.We had to wait about ten minutes or so.Well they texted my phone and our table was ready.So we sat down and looked and the menu which is like a newspaper.After looking for awhile I decided to get the Denver omelet with hash browns and one of their big biscuits along with some of their gravy.Overall I thought it was pretty good.The big biscuit was a little bit dry.Glad I had the gravy to pour on it.I just think this place got a little overhyped.Not to mention I wanted some salsa for my omelet and it was extra.And my mom wanted something and it was extra.They basically nickel and dime you to death.So after we got done I paid and got me a little coconut cream pie for the road.Which was pretty tasty.I might give this place another shot and try their dinner. I started outside. I enjoyed the design of this place! It definitely has its own thing going and makes you feel like you are in a diner in the mountains. Lots of real wood logs around the trim and furniture. It was very simple and made you feel like you were at your grandparents house eating breakfast. I got the Creamy Vanilla Iced Cold Brew and it was average. It got the job done, but didn't blow my socks off. I didn't expect them to specialize in coffee anyways so I'm not upset. Had a great lunch here at the Black Bear Diner. The atmosphere is like a cleaner greasy spoon diner. The waitstaff are super friendly and easy to work with. For lunch expect a little waiting time before seating, but then again it's the luck of the draw. The lunch we had was great! And the portions are plenty. I ordered the chicken nest, which is new in the menu. Which is chicken breast in Hollandaise sauce, and onion straws which was excellent. Came with good broccoli and what tasted like real mashed potatoes and white gravy. My wife ordered the "bear paws" which looked like a chicken fried steak, with the same sides I had.
