A promising sign on both counts. We opened with a cocktail from the bar, which set a high bar for what followed -- unfortunately, not everything cleared it. The Deviled Eggs with Spicy Best Maid Pickles arrived looking the part, four to an order, but tasted like they'd forgotten to show up to their own party. Bland, flat, and in desperate need of seasoning, we reached for the salt shaker, which helped, but shouldn't have been necessary. The pickles, to their credit, were doing their absolute best and were genuinely the only flavor happening on that plate. Skip these. The pickles deserve better supporting cast. The Cheeseburger with Wasp Sauce on a potato bun, however, is a different story entirely. We ordered it medium, half expecting the kitchen to interpret that however it pleased, but it arrived cooked exactly as requested, which felt like a small victory worth celebrating. The Wasp Sauce is a mystery worth solving, and the house-made chips that come alongside are fresh, crisp, and dangerously snackable. Pro tip: order a side of ranch for dipping. You're welcome. I almost never give reviews that are this slow, but we were here for the sweet 16 staying at the hotel across the street and this place looked really cute so we stopped in immediately upon walking in the front door. We were assaulted by garbage stink and it looked like there was some sort of mechanism to maybe take the garbage down but it's right inside the front door and it smelled horrible. Then we sat down to eat food and it was less than desirable everything kind of had a weird kick to it like the meatballs had a ton of fennel in them and that's all you could taste. I was just completely underwhelmed by all of the food. I will say the service was great, but we felt like we had wasted our money. I'd find somewhere else downtown to eat. read more

One of the best happy hours I have been to!! $6 gimlet, you can't beat it! The ranch dip with homemade potato chips was a great portion size for the price, highly recommend. The chicken sandwich was crisp and fresh and the slaw complements the sandwich with a hint of spice. We subbed the chips for fries and they were great steak fries. The bartender that took my order was very nice and the meal was prepared and packaged in about five minutes. When I got it back to my room, it was quite delicious. Though I wouldn't recommend the business, I will say the food was not bad. I had the reuben but make no mistake, it wasn't a traditional reuben, or even close. Maybe two ingredients were reuben ingredients but the rest was the restaurant's interpretation. That being said, the sandwich wasn't bad; it's just more than I would like to pay for a flaired-up corned beef sandwich. There was ample meat, no concerns there. As for service, our server was great. The guy that seated us was the furthest thing from pleasant. He was so off putting that if I wasn't with a group, I'd consider leaving, which I never do. I wouldn't go back - not because of the greeter but he was certainly part of it. The smell in that restaurant is absolutely disgusting. It smells like sewage when you walk in the front door and it's been like this for over two years. This spot is in a great location and the food is honestly not that bad, but we stopped eating there because of the smell. When asking the staff...they blame it on plumbing below the building and say there's nothing they can do which in my mind is unacceptable. The fry on the chicken was so pale, and the mashed potatoes with gravy taste was bland. The Brussels sprouts tasted like they were microwaved, not freshly roasted. They weren't crispy at all and were soaking in liquid in the bowl. The spaghetti meatballs taste like cheap freezer meatballs that you get from a grocery store.
