Our server, Mac, absolutely made the night. She was hands down one of the sweetest, most attentive servers I've ever had. You can tell she genuinely cares about people -- she didn't just take our order, she made us feel taken care of the entire time. She was on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed, gave great recommendations, and somehow managed to make the whole experience feel personal and effortless. New location in the stockyards - they moved from off Main Street to behind Billy Bob's. Parking is quite tricky especially when there is an event at Billy Bob's, but if you park at Cooper's BBQ I heard that if you take your ticket in there they will give you a gift certificate to counter the parking cost. I didn't try it because my professional org covered our parking fee. The food is the same and service about the same. The environment is much more open and brighter, but not quieter. We went for dinner on a Saturday, and even though we were in a private closed off room, we still had to talk loudly to hear each other over the music and groups around us. The salsa is better than I've had at other places and was especially spicier than normal. The guac is delish and nearly all their dishes are great. I've not tried them all but plenty to say they are pretty consistent. Sadly no pictures as I went hungry and did not remember until half my dish was gone. read more

Came here for dinner on the company dime so that's already a good start. However, as a professional Yelp reviewer (/s) I'll try not to let it influence me too much. There was a good number of us. I'd say around 20 or more. We were able to get seated in a private space towards the back of the restaurant. The wait staff were all nice and quick with their service. Everyone got their drinks soon and then we were all able to order. The chips and salsa were pretty standard. I like that they have the salsa in a larger glass and have small bowls for everyone to pour so it's closer. For apps, our part of the apple got queso, guac, and shrimp quesadillas. The queso and guac were great! I definitely recommend those as additional dips for your chips. The shrimp quesadilla was also good. I would get again! For my main, I got the brisket tacos. The charro beans were solid, good flavor. Now the tacos themselves were alright - it was a bit mild in terms of the flavor. I also got them on corn tacos. I would say that was a mistake. The brisket itself had a lot of juice so it drained through the tacos and made it a bit difficult to eat. Maybe flour tacos would have been the better move. The redeeming aspects of the plate were the avocados which added a nice creamy texture and the Spanish rice which I thought was particularly good here. Again, company dime so I didn't get the honor of seeing the final bill. We did have to pay the individual tab for alcohol though. In that regard, I do want to note that two friends got margaritas. It was happy hour so both should have been happy hour prices. Nonetheless, one was and the other wasn't. Of course, I don't think this was malicious or intentional - it was just inconvenient. Fajitas were good!! We got a large size of the triple delight that comes with shrimp, beef, and chicken. There was not much shrimp in it - more chicken. The flavors on the meat were good! We had another beautiful evening at Fort Worth's Los Vaqueros. I ordered the brisket tacos with double beans and my husband had chicken tacos. We ate every bite! The tacos were juicy but not greasy. The beans were tasty and flavorful. The chicken tacos came with a side of vegetables and a green sauce. It was all very tasty! I enjoyed a margarita swirl and the complimentary chips n salsa while we awaited our meal. The salsa is to die for! The server was hospitable and checked on us often enough. The restrooms are clean and there is paid parking ($10) in a nearbyish lot, unless you find a spot on the streets nearby. Drop your elderly people or disabled as close as possible, then go park. We went on a weekday in the afternoon. You have a bit of a walk if you want to go to this restaurant. We always sit at the bar and we were greeted by the bartender. Super nice and talk to us about the area. I wasn't thrilled with the food. It wasn't really hot when it came out and just smothered with sauce. Couldn't even tell really what the item was underneath. I had enchiladas, and there was nothing in the filling They weren't very big at all. Chips and salsa were good and the drinks a little expensive.I'm sure because of the area. (I live in the north East where they overdo everything!) It was perfection! Perfectly grilled onion slices and avocado.... Heavenly! Fish was grilled Mahi Mahi. Came to celebrate my brothers birthday and the restaurant itself is beautiful and big very spacious and clean. We had a big group of 17 so I was grateful for all the space we had. Our waiter was great he was very attentive and quick to help or get whatever we needed. The food was probably the most unexciting thing of this restaurant which is very disappointing. My husband and I ordered the fajitas for two to try them out and the serving sizes were small just about enough for one person. The beef wasn't tender enough and the shrimp had an awful gas taste to it. We were happy with the chicken but the rest was not tasty as we hoped. The rice was a bit dry and the tortillas are so small. Just overall it wasn't for us. We hear the drinks are great but since we don't drink we can't really verify that for ya. First off, the food: 1) The fajitas were primo! Probably the best chicken fajita meat I have had in years. 2) The kids meals were very good. Service: They were serving between 120 to 140 when we were there, which was dangerously close to their capacity. From the moment they took my order (I was the last of the 7 of us), the food was on the table in 22 minutes. The wait staff were efficient, and seemed to help each other when needed. Nice to see that kind of cooperation. Especially in a busy establishment! It is a nice looking place. The 'ambiance,' if you could call it that, is 'clean and uncluttered.' All of that is why they got 5-stars! Now let me give you a couple of hints that you REALLY NEED to take SERIOUSLY!!! 1) Make a reservation. We arrived a tad late for ours and it took about 20 minutes to be seated. The folks who arrived when we did without a reservation were told they had a two hour wait. 2) This place is next-door to Billy Bob's, so you need to plan on arriving at least 20 minutes early so you can make your way through the crowd. read more

First off if you have not been to this new location since the old one closed, don't be expecting anything like the old location, it is not, it is very light, modern, maybe to clinical feeling. Also give yourself more time to find parking, since there is not any and you will have to walk a few blocks. Food was OK, nothing great. Speaking of food, the chimichanga I ordered had hardly any queso on top of it so I asked if they could bring me more, they did bring a small amount but did not tell me they would have to charge me for it, $6. We also ordered two margaritas, was asked if we want to put them in a schooner which we replied yes. When I got the bill I was charged an extra $2.50 each schooner! This was on top of the price for the drink. I'm assuming was for them putting the drinks in the schooner because that's what it was noted on the detailed receipt. I know times are tough, but don't nickel and dime your customers. Overall a very disappointing experience. Will sorely miss all the great experiences that I always had at their old location. Since this review Los Vaqueros has contacted me and addressed all my issues / concerns, has made steps in corrections, this was not expected and shows me they care about my business. I was there for our friend's birthday dinner--the food was good, but getting there is a nightmare. We had to pay $20 for valet parking since there is not an actual parking lot for it. The service was ok; it was a private event, so I guess it's a bit different. The ambiance was way too loud. My friend and I had a reservation for 6:45pm on NYE. Our hotel valet had an issue finding our car so we were going to be late for our reservation. I called and spoke with the hostess and explained; she said "no problem, thank you for informing us, we will hold your table." When we finally arrived, another hostess informed us that they gave our table away. We waited about 20 minutes to for them to "find somewhere to put us". We were seated by the bar at a table with one chair (someone had to go pull a chair from another table). Our server came over and took our order, we ordered drinks and our dinner all at the same time. Our food came out super fast but our drinks had not arrived. We did receive water and chips and salsa. We asked our server about our drinks and she said they were coming. Several minutes went by and I went to the bar to follow up on our drinks. The bartender then proceeded to explain all the problems they were having and why he wasn't working on our drinks yet. He never apologized or offered a solution. I went back to the table, my friend had been trying to flag down the server for salt and also follow up on the drinks. She lost her appetite because the service failed us, the carne asada was bland, and we just felt utterly disappointed. She then went to the bar to cancel our drinks as we had hoped to have them before the food. I had the Veracruz filet which was okay. I feel that being smothered in cheese is what elevated its mediocrity. The beans and rice were very bland. Also, there was a hosted which had her hair down with glasses, and every time I saw her she was touching her hair and running her fingers down her hair. That is just unsanitary. The manager finally came over and said he heard we were disappointed. He offered drinks which we declined. He offered and apology and greatly discounted our ticket. For my first trip to the stockyards, this dinner experience was soooo not a vibe. read more
